March 1st, 2007 I cannot sleep. The thought of tomorrow looms over me, taking away my weariness and bringing in sadness. Tomorrow will be the expansion draft, adding Zero and I's team, the San Jose Knights, and The Las Vegas Broncos, Alvin's team. It is not just the fact that I will have to meet with Alvin again, but also about how the draft will take place. Me and Zero's sons will be in the draft, but we know we can only get one. It makes me depressed just thinking about it. My exhaustion has returned though, so that will be it for today's entry. March 2nd, 2007 Judgement day has arrived. Today will be the draft, with our sons poised to go 1 and 2. We have tried everything in our power to get the first 2 picks, but alas, Alvin won't budge. Later, Same day I almost passed out when I heard the news. Alvin has proposed what may be the biggest deals in history. He says he will give us the first 25 picks of the total 60, If we give him 50 million dollars and the last 35 picks. I wonder what would make him do this. Probably the money. He knows we despairingly want the first picks, but doesn't he want a winning team? No matter, we will accept. Zero did faint though, so the draft will be postponed for an hour. I cannot wait. |

March 2nd, 2007 The Draft Before the draft, Bud Selig appeared and made a suprise announcement. He said that due to 2 teams joining the AL West, The Texas Rangers would move to the Al central. At first I was shocked, but I recovered quickly by thinking that this would make it easier on us. Now onto the draft. And with the first pick of the 2007 MLB expansion draft, the San Jose Knights choose.... JAMES RODWICK! I stood there feeling proud of my son who appeared on the stage and accepted his #1 Jersey. I then looked at his scouting report. I will right down the gist of it here James Rodwick: A Slugger who is great in the Clutch (5), James is just about all you could want and more in a first baseman. A Power Hitter who has great bat control (Tough out), he can hit well to all fields (Spray Hitter) and is a good Rally Hitter as well. His defense is above average and has made some phenomenal Barehanded Catches. He went to Powerful University where he was the) Star of the team. He has also been good against the first pitch (Firstball Hitter) and when no batters are on (Table Setter). His run speed his average but he still run aggressively (Aggressive Run) and is a Tough Runner. No complaints. And with the second pick of the 2007 MLB expansion draft, the San Jose Knights choose.... ZERO GIBSON JUNIOR! I looked at Zero, tears streaming down his face. I felt good for him. I also looked at Alvin. He still has a poker face. I wonder what he was thinking. Zero Gibson Jr.: A 18 year old phenom, has a devastating palmball complimented by a drop curve and a Gyroball. He certainly lacks in the speed department, only getting a top speed of 85 mph. His fastball his superb though (Fastball Life), and so is his Spin. He pitches full force (Battler) and often finishes what he starts (STR Finisher). He has a great Release and his good W/RISP. He also Recovers quickly and makes it difficult for runners to homer(Groundball P). Good become one of the greatest right handed pitchers of all time. After that I left the stage and went home, The day was exhausting and I didn't slept well yesterday. |

Monday, April 2, 2007 San Jose Knights (0-0) @ Las Vegas Broncos (0-0) Panpaca Park The Knights got their first lost in the first game of their history 3-4 ▲1: The first pitch in both the Knights and the Broncos history was a fastball. It was hit by Harper for a lineout to short. Mars Bronson hit the second pitch for a fly out in the foul territory. But, on the first pitch of his career, Jamer Rodwick got the Knights first hit, homer, RBI, and run with a home run to center! Javier Vazquez however, got a less memorable first, with the first strikeout in Knights history. ▼1: The Broncos first pitch was a palmball on the corner for a strike. 2 pitches later, Maxwell flew out. THen, Shen flew out behind the catcher, and Venafro grounded out to first. ▲2: Pablo Sanchez started off the second inning anticlimactically, by flying out on a 3-2 count. Chen Wang however, got a single up the alley into center. On his first Knight at bat, Bud Zinski flew out to left. Hank Ware and Alex Thomas both singled to left to load the bases for Harper, who got a RBI single to left. Mars Bronson had a huge opportunity to extend the Knights lead, but blew it with a grounder to 2nd. ▼2: Daigle got the Broncos first hit with a grounder that barely got past Mars. He scored on Raines's double, giving them there first run. Brazell advanced Raines to 3rd with a single. At this point the crowd was on their feet screaming their heads off. Bouknight delivered, getting a RBI double and the Broncos 4th hit in a row. Zero finally got an out, retiring McDade with a flyout. Sandberg got an RBI groundout, giving them the lead. Maxwell flew out to end the inning ▲3: Maza got his first 1-2-3 inning by retiring Rodwick, Vazquez, and Sanchez. ▼3: Zero returned with his own 1-2-3 inning, getting Shen, Venafro, and Daigle ▲4: Another 1-2-3 inning. Wang FO, Zinski GO, Ware LO. ▼4: Raines GO, Brazell singled. Bouknight got to first but Brazell was thrown out at second. McDade ended the inning with a ground out to short. ▲5: Thomas started off the inning with a groundout to Maza, the pitcher. Harper the hit a lineout to the 3rd baseman. Mars then added to the drought with a grounder to first ▼5: Sandberg got the first out with a grounder to 2nd. Maxwell got his first hit with a liner to left. He was caught stealing on the next pitch though. Shen got out number 3 with a grounder to 2nd. ▲6: James got the Knights first hit since the second inning with a single. He didn't go anywhere, as Vazquez flew out and Sanchez hit into a double play. ▼6: Venafro got the first triple in either teams history, with a blast off the center wall. Then Daigle struckout to give Zero his first K. Raines then hit a high pop up to the catcher for out number 2. Brazell also hit one to the catcher, except his was foul. ▲7: Wang was retired with a pop fly to Maza. Maza was showing fatigue as he threw a fastball to Zinski, who hit it for a double. That was it for Maza, as he got a standing ovation as he hit the showers. Borland was called in to replace him, and immediatly gave up a single to Hank. he did however, get Thomas to fly out. Harper then loaded the bases for Bronson with a single. Bronson didn't blow his second chance to score, as he hit a RBI single. James however, didn't add to the score as he flew out leaving 3 stranded and leaving the game tied. ▼7: Zero was still going strong as he retired Bouknight, Mcdade, and Sandberg in 3 pitches. ▲8: After retiring Vazquez, Borland was pulled in favor of Oliver. Oliver was pitching good as he retired Sanchez and Wang. ▼8: Maxwell got a single to lead off. He was advanced to second on Shen's groundout. Venafro then got an RBI single, ending the day for Zero. He was replaced by B.C. Kim, who retired Daigle and Raines. ▲9: The Broncos brought in their closer, Donovan, a switch hitting lefty who only has a change. He successfully got Zinski, Ware, and Thomas to groundout to end the game. PLAYER OF THE GAME: Venafro: He drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 8th. Final Score Knights: 3 Broncos: 4 Win - Oliver (1-0) Save - Donovan (1) Loss - Zero (0-1) Home Runs - Rodwick (1) Harper: 2-5, 2B Bronson: 1-4, RBI James: 2-4, HR J.Vazquez: 0-4 P.Sanchez: 0-4 C.Wang: 1-4 Zinski: 1-4 Ware: 2-4 Thomas: 1-4 Zero: 7 1/3 IP, K, 4 ER B.C.Kim: 2/3 IP, Maxwell: 2-4 Shen: 0-4 Venafro: 2-4, 3B, RBI Daigle: 1-4 Raines: 1-4, 2B, RBI Brazell: 2-3 Bouknight: 1-3, 2B, RBI McDade: 0-3 Sandberg: 0-3, RBI Maza: 6 1/3 IP, K, 3 ER Borland: 1 IP Oliver: 2/3 IP Donovan: 1 IP |
