What, you thought this was over?
------------------------------------------
May 3, 2007
------------------------------------------
Oakland Athletics (16-14) @ Charlotte Stingers (15-15)
------------------------------------------
Pitching Matchup:
Justino Valenzuela (0-2) vs. Alan Embree (0-1)
------------------------------------------
The Stingers would begin the scoring in the bottom of the first as Kaz, with men on first and second and one gone, hit a bloop single to right, driving in the run. Logan followed with a sac fly to center, making it 2-0 Stingers.

Christian led off the second with a homer to left, extending the lead to 3-0.

With a man on first and two gone in the third, Logan hit an RBI double to extend the lead to 4.

With men on first and second and two gone for the A's in the fourth, Nick Swisher hit an RBI single to short center field, narrowing the Stingers' lead to 4-1.

The bottom of the fifth saw the Stingers strike again, as Kaz, with men on second and third and no outs, hit a 2 RBI double to center, and extending the Stingers' lead to 6-1.

Milton Bradley led off the sixth for the A's with a homer to right, narrowing the Stingers' lead to 6-2.

And that would be it for the scoring, as neither team struck again, leaving the Stingers with a 6-2 victory.
-------------------------------------------

L: Alan Embree (0-2)

Kazuharu Miyazaki: 2-3, 2B, 3 RBI, HBP
Logan Dorrell: 2-2, 2 2B, 2 RBI, HBP, SF
Roman Gonzalez: 0-4, DP, K
Christian Kawasaki: 2-4, HR (5), RBI, R
Sergey Aksenov: 2-4, 2B

Crisanto Cavazos: 2/3 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 K
Harry Hutchinson: 1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 K
--------------------------------------------
Shortly before the game, reports surfaced that the Stingers had signed 21 year old reliever Francisco Rosario (97, G, C, 4 H-SLD, 2 CHG, 2 SPLT) to a 1 year, $380,000 contract.

After the game, Stingers GM Hank Aaron confirmed the reports. "We think Francisco is a very talented young player who has room to grow in our organization. But we do not yet consider him ready to be any higher than AAA at this time."
--------------------------------------------
Also, Shi Ko's running speed has increased to a 4.

Yeah, it wouldn't let me change the opponent pitching to powerful, so after Christan's homer, I hit with contact the rest of the game.

In the fifth, with a man on third and one out, Logan hit a single over the second baseman's head, extending the Stingers' lead to 5-3.

Joe Crede followed with a homer of his own, making it 7-5 Sox. Tadahito Iguchi followed with a homer of his own off of new pitcher Yuichiro Nakamora, and extending the lead to 8-5.
