I made a whole set of 'arranged' expansion teams. Now, I replaced them all with the 30 teams, and have a complete season full of expansion teams. I mostly manage/etc, so it's fun to me to have complete no-names.

I like to do the fantasy draft, after about 5-6 yeras, I'll save this team to it's spot, then start with a different expansion team and do it all over again.

The things that rock:

Pulling off that blockbuster trade to get 'your guy'
Finding the diamonds in the rough, and having them be awesome in 2-3 years
Watching your team being built the way YOU want them (cause they basically suck until you practice them right)

The things that suck:

No FA's. Everyone's players are tied up. You can only build through the draft and trade in the first few years.

Some of the team names suck/etc, and I ended up with some dupicate cities/etc because I wasn't very careful with the creation process.

If I had the time to do that I might, but it sounds interesting.

So far, it's interesting. I'm coming up on the first year for REAL free agency.

Contracts are SO whack. I have an amazing player who only costs like 2k/points/year, and a creappy player who is asking for like 9k.

You can build amazing teams this way through practice/etc. I'm thinking about building a group of teams with different focus, like the old baseball stars style.

Power hitters, contact hitters, runners, fielders, power pitching, etc.

The nice thing so far - your team turns out EXACTLY as you practice them, and it shows.

That sounds pretty cool. I'm hoping sometime that more folks besides me will create full success mode teams and we can add them to the expansion teams. Right now mine is just destroying the competition

DS - what do you can add them to expansion teams, or whatever?

Do you mean that you would enter in all 25 passwords, and put in your season mode?

Wyl has the Hall-Of-Fame team. And I'm sure that you could take all of the guys posted and mix them up into 1 team.

I mean, having full Arrange Teams able to replace other teams in the MLB, say for instance you have two full Arrange Teams and you start an Expansion Season, just replace the two expansion teams with your Arrange Teams. If there's more than two arrange teams, start replacing regular MLB teams till you have an entirely custom league

Oh. My brother and I have our teams like that. Except we only use them for exhibition because Season Mode is too long.

This arranged way starts to get interesting in about season 6. There are finally free agents, but to be honest, most of the just suck. The players you keep and practice all seem to do well.

What I ended up doing was starting over, getting some really good players all on one team (with practice - it took about 3 years) and saved as an arranged team. Now I'm gonna start a new season with these guys.

It took me 4 seasons of constant power hitting practice (and some TRAJ prac) just to get a guy to have A grade power. I'm the only team with any A's (there were like 2 b's in the entire league).

The pitchers I ended up with were almost all amazing after four years. It's really easy to build a good pitching staff, and good defenders/runners/contact hitters. But there is almost no one for the first two years with higher than a C power. Lame.

Darkshade - I've got about 12-13 players made so far, on the way to my custom team...but I don't have the arrange team unlocked yet. Want to throw my guys in as an arrange team? I would love to see the stats they put up. I won't be putting the team together myself for another month or two, untill all the pieces are in place.

My guys are all on the wiki, as Wii custom players - they're the only ones up there besides yours I think. They're all fairly regular, even players - no uber-uber superstars, some are even so-so. I'll try to make them into a category page or something on the wiki.

:O this sounds lots of fun and with teams with success players would be even cooler.

Interesting idea, if I had the patience I'd try that. I hope in the new version there is some online play in which you could trade/upload teams and perhaps home-made stadiums. Then I'd be more then happy to try this.
