look in "season mode"

Keep your payroll DOWN. This is the reason why the Yankees are the hardest team (in my opinion) to play as. You must trade away the over-priced, mediocre, expensive players - i.e. Clemens and Giambi or even guys like Abreu. They can be replaced with younger cheaper guys, or success mode players.

Don't skip through every game. Skipping through the games will prevent you from gaining the in-game points. You don't have to play every one though. First find out the average amount of points you receive each game you play. The amount of points you lose each day is equal to your salary divided by 162. Use this to calculate how many games you'll need to play in order to keep you net balance at least 0.

Win the World Series. In total, including the other playoff games, you can get 80000 bonus points.

Don't get over the luxury tax too much. This one can take upwards of 10000 points away from you.

Like real-life, keep your roster young and cheap with prospects (draft and success mode) and don't chase after all the big free agents. Getting through the off-season is even harder - namely contract renewal.

success mode!

The teams actually already some great keystone players

Rays - Crawford, Young, Baldelli, Kazmir

Marlins - Uggla, Cabrera, Ramirez, Willis

Of course, if you have the option of arranging teams, you could use that.

To unlock it, though, you must win the world series with a success mode player on your team. Maybe you could just do a quick run-through of season mode - ignoring the owner points just to unlock this option.

Another way of preventing bankruptcy is to buy the season mode bonuses at the Shop.

i still get the feeling that something happens when you get all of the cards. there MUST be something - unlock something new? Maybe I just play too much other games - Pokemon Blue  jk. But really, I think I'll try it once I buy the arrange team option and the ballparks.
