Post subject:  Getting Both Good Delivery (Sarah) and Intimidator (Becky)
AFIK the only way to get the Intimidator ability is by getting the Becky ending - You *probably* won't get it thru Secrets of Pitching as Intimidator has traditionally been the "ultimate" ability in the Pawapuro series and there's usually only one way to get it.

You can get Good Delivery randomly by asking Sarah on a photo session date. Alternatively I think you can get it by reading Secrets of Pitching but I wouldn't know how you'd get one without ticking Becky off completely (you'd have to date Annie for a Xmas[surprise bag] or Valentine's gift[secrets of hitting/pitching in 3rd year]), so it's up to random events or getting lucky with the surprise bags after you finish your success mode run (at which point save and loading is not possible). I also got one randomly after solving the Professor's problems but you can't plan for that to happen either.

Thus the easiest way it seems is getting Sarah's number in your first year *before* Becky gets dumped by Alvin, have a photo session date, then switch girls to Becky to get her ending.

Since the progression of Sarah's storyline is somewhat random, I'm not sure how far you can go in your first year. Has anyone got this to work?

Dunno about genius but a pitcher with Intimidator shinks the contact Lv of opposing hitters if they come on in relief... I don't know what the effects are for starters. Anyway I thought I'd try getting the somewhat rare abilites at once...

I blew it!! :x

I successfully got Sarah's number by July, 1st year, and reloaded the photo session date till I got Good Delivery... Then I proceeded to date Becky to get her happy ending... Only that I didn't have a Challenge card when she asked me to marry her, but I didn't think it was a big deal at that time because I swore I'd gotten Intimidator just by selecting "YES" before. Apparently it has to do with Betty's affection level. I tried cutting back on too many dates and left it at Lv9. You probably get Intimidator even if you select YES, if you max out the hearts.

I think this pretty much proves my method works, only if I'd been more careful with Becky... Of course if it's possible to get Good Delivery from Secrets of Pitching (haven't tried it yet), you could just grab a surprise bag from Annie on your second Xmas.

Oh well so many save and loads wasted!!

how many dates does it take to get to 10 hearts? if it takes 10 dates, i'm not sure if it's just better to practice and gamble on ten turns instead. can get more abilities and upgrades i think.

The only way to get Intimidator is through Becky so there's no way around dates if that's what I'm aiming for. The premise of the thread is to get them both and create a good all-round pitcher at the same time.

OK, I think I've nailed it. Some new findings:

-If you're steady with Becky on the final Xmas, NOT dating her that night will result in her dumping you. If doesn't matter if you practice, rest or date Annie to get the surprise bag. The final Xmas is a MUST DATE if you're if you're going to complete the Becky arc.

-The good news however, is that Becky does NOTHING if you decide to date Annie on the final Valentines day. Not even an angry phone call. Annie gives you a Secrets of Hitting/Pitching after the date (no present necessary, just pay $10 for dinner), which is better than the random stuff you get from Becky.

-Finally, I've confirmed Good Delivery is indeed obtainable from Secrets of Pitching, so you can forget all I've said about Sarah :P

Out of curiosity, what does Becky give fielders who complete the arc? Can't be intimidator obviously.

I'm a little confused, what do you mean by complete the arc, if you mean like ending up with her, then I did that with a fielder the the other night and got intimidator ability.
