If I knew, Success Mode would be WAY easier for me. I'm sick of practicing something having no idea which points help boost which abilities.

Depends what your talking about. At the practice screen it says what boosts what points and at the ability up screen it says what points you need for everything.

I see that now, I'm so stupid.

I've made about a dozen Success Mode players and I've never noticed that.

No problem. I've had my fair share of stupid questions :P , maybe not here since I played this game for almost a month before I found the forum, but elsewhere.

It took me until my third success mode player to realize I had to boost my players abilities on my own, and that the game didn't do it for me.

It took me until my sixth to successfully get the minor league contract I tried one auto upgrade char but it just wasn't the same.

Anyway. Your question was answered so unless someone else has something to add we might as well let this topic die.

If you choose Automatic Build, the CPU will spend your points automatically to create a 'profile' character.

I suppose it's like choosing transmission for your car...

You want control of how your guy turns out? like purchasing expensive abilities? Then go Manual.

Stock college weenie (okay not really, but the abilities come MUCH rarer)? Go Automatic.

It took me two or three tries before I realized that you could save. And OH how that changed the game for me. :D

Pick manual. You'll have better gamble oppurtunity, and it doesn't take long at all to boost the stats yourself.

unless you are really bad at making players pick manual. But even if you pick automatic be sure that you pick all rounder. I tried to make an automatic person set to slugger and he wound up with about 500 extra Quickness points because the computer didn't want to stop upgrading power to spend Strength points on the player's run speed.
