I have been noticing on my most recent player that I am getting more abilities from RE's than I normally do. This is a good sense player, so it is making me wonder if perhaps that having GS increases the odds of getting abilities during random events?

I doubt it. I never felt that Poor Sense gave me fewer RE's, so I wouldn't think the opposite is true.
Probably just chance.

I don't think gd sense has any affect on your luck.

I do however have a theory about "letting the game play".

It seems I have better luck if I don't reload.

If I let the game play a few days in a row, I get better things to happen.

I also have to sacrifice a couple of gambles, but this is what I do if I want something good like the gambling ring or a surprise bag.

I can't say for certain but I usually let the game play and maybe about one out of five characters I make luck out and and get Dr. Goodjob, A letter from the pro, and loads abilities from just about every event. I never get a good sense player right away so I think it's all pretty random. On most occasions though, I have to gamble or use equipment for everything.

Maybe it was just luck. I wasn't really trying very hard, and in the span of a couple hours (I had to stop for a bit to grab Sonic) I had a character that had a 3 Traj, and all B stats. Had Power and Spray hitter, Gold Glove, BL Hitter, Tough Out, Spider Catch, Star, Gd. Sense, Gd. Small Ball, B2B Hitter and other assortment of abilities. Plus it maxed out Ladies Man, Money Man, and Book. Guy jacked a 3 run bomb of Santana in the 9th to beat the Stars.

Everything just kind of went this guys way, and I didn't have to gamble for anything. I was just getting these abilities out of nowhere. I had to get past Insomnia, Lazy, and Timid during the run. Didn't even have the mind training neck.

Making a character like this isn't hard really, but it usually doesn't spit out in 2 hours and requires some degree of gambling to get. Happy it went well, just kinda shocked. Certainly I am now looking forward to '08 and getting into that game head first.

Good times. I've only recently figured out how (thanks to everyone on the boards) to get max ladies man, book, money, and still make a decent character. I don't know how you did it without Mind Training unless you dated Annie.

Are we talkin' fast food Sonic or Sonic the Hedgehog? In Cali, it's like there is only 1 Sonic every 100 sq. miles. Yet there are Sonic commercials on every 5 minutes.

Yeah, I did date Annie. If I had not done so much dating and working, I probably could have maxed this guy out, but I just wasn't feeling it. The more I do this the more I shy away from mind training, because it really isn't that necessary.

When I am in LA I always hunt down a Carl's JR. burger. Sonic is about 30 seconds driving from here, so I drop by every so often to get a burger and a drink. Especially since I was out of town all weekend and took the day off to recover. I just couldn't say no.

I'm finding that too, especially if you date Annie. The perks of maxing Bookworm aren't nearly as useful as Money or Ladies Man. If you don't reload, you'll waste weeks studying trying to get the more intense training. Seeing abilities in equipment and Good Sense are much more useful IMO.

I never use the mind training necklace anymore. Doing Annie's homeworks (when low on vitality and you need to burn a turn) or even dating her 2 times really gives me all the bookworm I need.

Sonic - man, you know their ads are on in MA all the time, too? Massachusetts and NH. I grew up in northeast MA, and never even SAW a Sonic until I moved to Florida.

I'm with you on this. I only buy the graduates charm.

Who cares about seeing the recovery bar. Just buy a $30 vision supplement, use it then reload. Or sleep and see how much hyper recovery points you receive and go from there.

I'm not wasting my hard earned money on mind training.

Yeah here in Ohio we saw Sonic ads on a daily basis but there were none around. FINALLY last year they built one about 10mi. away. Not bad food at all.

I would say out of my entire time, maybe ONE person was a Good Sense person, the rest are either Pr Sense or Standard.

In and Out is good, but highly overrated IMHO. I mean, in other parts of the country you hear people talk about having to get In and Out burgers when they go to Cali like it is a religious experience -lol- Definitely above average for fast food, but IMHO not any better than what you get at a regular family/non-fast food style restaurant.

We get hammered with Sonic ads here too, but then again in Texas we *do* have them about every 500 feet :D If you've never been to DFW (Dallas-Ft.Worth) it's rather interesting - we have the most restaurants per capita of any U.S. city last I heard. You can't hardly drive more than a few blocks in any direction without running into places to eat.

In and Out rules!!

So good, the only thing they serve is Hamburger, cheeseburger, fries.

Illinois fast food chains are crap.
