Post subject:  Original pitch (Again)

i'm still wondering a couple things about it (and yes i looked at the "Dad's Training" topic)

Is it rare to get? becasue i've made at least twenty characters with only one pitcher getting to the part where he trains you the firs time and i unwittingly used a yes card so all i got was a few breaking ball points.

how exactly is it customizable? i know you get a menu of choices like increasing break or velocity on an existing pitch, but how many times can you customize it?

is it noticebly different from other pitchers (as in break) or is the only differences the speed and amount of break (ex: enchanced curveball going 100 mph or could it be somewhat of o hard-shuuto/vertical slider going 100?)

i think his topic should be explored further and i would do it myself except for the fact that i have extremely bad luck

thanks.

When, using pitchers made by other people, sometimes, the difference is huge. As far as I can detect, the only differences are break and velocity.

But for some, the difference is quite small. If I use what the creators claimed, 3-5 upgrades still doesn't do much. Ryan Soohoo's knuckler, though, is about 20-30 mph faster than the normal one, and he claimed to have upgraded it nearly a dozen times.

You can improve it as many times as possible. However, your dad must visit you again, which is something you'll have to save/load for.

All this information is not my own, but is a compilation of all I read. So if anyone disagrees with what I've said, you're probably right.

anything else, i mean it sort of answered my questions but not entirely. so basically if you try to customize a foshball it will still be a foshball (except a lot faster or with more break)? what about the s shaker (alvin's pitch when he's on the championship rings for 3rd year and Zero's pitch), is it possible to make?

It is possible to make Alvin's pitch. But I'm not sure how. It's an upgraded knuckleball, and you can name it whatever you want, but the amount of upgrades needed and the types are a mystery.

A customized pitch still has the same direction of movement, just perhaps sharper and faster. The basics won't change.

all right, that was what i was looking for. i was hoping thta you could make an almost entirley new pitch :(. I do have a good idea though. Imagine upgrading a level 7 palmball's break 3-4 more times. It could probably easily drop the length of the batter's box. that would be a cool pitch.

Actually "SShaker" is just a level 2 Knuckle ball that looks like it has a "less slow down" upgrade (it's a hard knuckle ball more like what R.A. Dickey throws than the traditional knuckler that Wakefield throws).

But yeah, you just rename one of your existing breaking pitches and modify it from the choices dad gives you.

But if you made the pitch, you'd probably want a level 7.

that must be a really good level 2 knuckler. it moves a pretty good amount.

I've made two P ad both have gotten an original pitch. On both i;ve s/r nu,erous times, but whenever y dad comes, i immediately save. The 5 upgrades are as follows:

1. a sharper pitch
2. less slow down
3. a better slow ball
4. a sharper pitch
5. (i can't remember the 5th...i wrote about it earlier, just search my posts)

you get to choose one initiatlly, and then he'll come back randomly to ask if you want to improve it. say yes and you get to choose another upgrade. I've changed from a curve both times, but i honestly can't tell much difference.

I'm under the impression that in order to notice a significant difference you should upgrade anywhere from 10-15 times (rsoohoo). Each upgrade only slightly improves your pitch.

can you explain what each updrade specifically does?

and did youaccidentally put sharper pitch twice or is there a dfference betwee nthe two?

Has to be a typo because all 5 options are different

One of the options missing is "A better breaking ball".

I'm going crazy trying to remember the fifth; it's right there at
the tip of my tongue. :x I want to say it's "A better change-up"
but that doesn't seem right since one of the choices is
"A better slow ball".

I finally got dad to train me! Just played first game in year two. Upgraded my level 5 knuckleball twice with (better breaking ball), and maybe its just me but that pitch seems WAY better. Doesn't seem like you need 15 upgrades in the same category.

I wonder if its better to use different upgrades every time or if my "breaking ball" will just continue to get better?

Anyone know??

It will continue to stack, but I think some of them cancel-out (different options).
