Funny one I ran into while making Shoeless Joe - I got hurt right before the year 2 event where Robbie asks you to be captain (play a Challenge card to get it, everything else results in Toby getting it). Normally that event takes place in the locker room, but in my case since I was in the hospital the whole thing played out there. I thought it was funny that the whole argument with Toby and Becky and Coach Stone played out right there in the hospital room

I'm curious, if you Challenge do you still get to be Captain? If you're in a hospital bed, that's sort of a weak position to convince others that you have what it takes. In a real-life situation I can see someone like Toby taking advantage of that.

I just tried that today, you can still get the captain position by challenging.

Toby does argue and mention the injury, but Robbie counters by saying it's the Coach's decision. And the coach chooses you.

But I reloaded anyway, and turned down the position because I was a catcher, and needed Alvin to stay.

I thought being catcher was the easiest position to keep Alvin and gain some bonus abilities at cost of exp, by losing to Patrick and gaining Gd/Grt Catcher, Gd Block and possibly Star + add'l ability while catching Alvin's knuckler.

But if I'm captain Alvin will leave no matter what.

You cannot play the exhibition game. I have only gotten gd catcher, star, and sparkplug while making a catcher.
