I believe the hitter equivalent of W/RISP is Clutch.

In terms of game concept, I agree with the other posters who brought up Refined.

However, in terms of Success Mode events, it'd be Cannon Arm:

Sarah's Silver prize event gives Cannon Arm for fielders and Gyroball for pitchers.
Annie / Amusement Park / Challenge also gives Cannon Arm for fielders and Gyroball for pitchers.

The common theme here is obviously extra juice on throws.

Yeah, I was thinking Success Mode, specifically, challenging on Yr 3 Valentine's with Becky for my 3B.
But isn't Rally Hitter also possible as a Challenge with Annie's Amusement Park date? Or is that the equivalent of STR Finisher. I was thinking the Rally Hitter may be the Success Mode equivalent because it is the one that can't be achieved through gambling. No matter, though, I'll just date Annie for a SoH book instead, just read on Wiki, that Val. dates aren't necessary for relationship.

No.

Gyroball/Cannon Arm - Better throws
Rally Hitter/STR Finisher - Mental toughness to play well in late game situations

Makes more sense.

Plus, the Gyro/Cannon thing is already established in Sarah's silver prize.

Ah. That does make a lot of sense.
However, this is somewhat of a curveball - I got Great Infield Hitter from Challenging Becky on a Yr 3 Val date.

Whatever. I used the Secrets of Hitting, and thankfully, I got Rally Hitter.

Good find. If it's the counterpart of Gyroball, I assume it's available in Year 3 only.

Speaking of which, has anyone gotten RISP/Clutch by Becky/Valentine's/Challenge on Year 3? I think the event might be designed to offer better abilities in the third year, like this:

Becky/Valentine's/Challenge
Year 2: RISP/Clutch
Year 3: Gyroball/Grt Infield Hitter

Definitely a possibility. I'd have a hard time proving it because I always seem to pick Clutch up inadvertently along the way somewhere; its one of those abilities you almost have to try NOT to get it.

I've just discovered that you can acquire GYROBALL by using a Marvin card when you are watching your favorite team on television!

(Sometimes it doesn't work and Marvin cuts you down)

Nice!

I got that skit a million times during one characters Success Mode run through and I only had Challenge/Yes/No and I haven't gotten it since so I'm glad someone else can find something useful from it.

I didn't submit the event because I didn't get the chance to write it down and it was too far back from my last save. The vague idea is that Marvin comes back to ask you to do Charity work again. I believe you had to say Marvin the first time and definetly Marvin the second. You'll go to an orphanage and you will be given three choices... Paint the walls, fix the walls?, or fix the roof. If you choose to fix the roof, you find out that Marvin is afraid of heights and won't go up. Remembering last time you did charity work, your player starts yelling at Marvin for being lazy and demands that he helps. Marvin eventually paints the walls or something along those lines after whining about you getting easy aggravated. Then, you get the hot-headed "ablitity". This may not happen 100 percent of the time.
