Dan Haren, former All-Star SP, was traded from the Dodgers to Miami over the offseason. However, he has since told the Marlins orginazation that he does not intend to play for the team next season, and would like a trade to a team on the west coast, so he can be near his family. If he does not get this trade, he will most likely retire from baseball. So, with this, where do you think he will pitch next year? Or will he just retire? I think he goes for a return to the D-Backs or the Padres trade for him, that's just what I think. What do you say?

Feeling San Diego. At some point, maybe Beane sneaks in? doubt he would take on the salary but he might want to ship up his pitching staff just in case.

The Padres definitely make the most sense (and that's what I voted), but I don't know if it's going to happen.

He's not going to the Dodgers or Angels. They already have too many starters. He's not going to the Diamondbacks or Athletics. They're in rebuilding mode. He's not going to Colorado. He knows that's a bad idea. He's not staying in Miami. I think he's serious about that threat. That leaves the Padres or Mariners, but he would likely start the season in the bullpen for both. I think he'd rather retire than do that.

I don't think he'd be in the bullpen in San Diego. A rotation of Cashner-Ross-Kennedy-Haren-Morrow/Despaigne is a decently solid. Erlin could be either in the bullpen or a spot starter down in AAA.

Add Josh Johnson into that as well. And neither Johnson or Morrow would go to the bullpen.
