So, I was scanning through the Super Mario Wiki yesterday, and came across, in their monthly "newspaper," their accompanying forums policy on dead topics. Here's what it says:

Quote:
Do not bump old topics unless you have something relevant to say or contribute. information irrelevant to the topic or replying to an old quote will be considered spam. As well, do not cause a riot if a user has bumped or created a thread if the said user has something relevant to say. If the user has made a post in an old topic that violates this rule, simply report it to the moderators.

This sounded intriguing to me, so I decided to make this topic a POTD. Would this be a rule that we could possibly implement? Leave your thoughts in this topic.

No, it's stupid. Really old topics are full of inactive members, making any response meaningless. And most other topics are dead because they got the response they needed.

Are you saying it's wrong to talk to a bag of Skittles? Because if so, I'm going to need to rethink a lot of things. :P

I actually think this is already an unwritten rule.

Like the "You know you're playing too much Power Pros when..." topic, if someone comes up with something useful and relevant then people shouldn't mind, but if someone quotes an older post replying "Lol" or something like that, then they would be warned about it.

Anyway, the rule you posted is the most logical rule about dead topics.
