To learn about the people of our past, to learn not to make the same mistakes they did, to learn how things came to be..

Because I'm totally going to drop an atomic bomb or conquer Mexico (that probably sounded very ignorant...)

But I just don't see how it benefits us. I like Geography, but I don't see a point of History.

You might not, but other people will. I like learning about it. Its one big story, with no end.

I don't really like Geography...

History, however, lets you learn about all these interesting things going on, how people lived, study all of the characters from the past, etc.

I like both.

History is important because of two things.

1.History repeats itself.

2.To learn the mistakes of past generations,and prevent that from happening.
(Example. Little Jimmy thinks that America should drop the bomb on Iraq and China. Why is this a terrible idea? History teaches this,sorta.)

History is important because it teaches us of the mistakes of the past, as was said before. And also, to quote John Green, "the past isn't past, it's still shaping the future."

Though I can understand why one wouldn't like history, I hated it until my freshman year of high school.
