Tattoos are a horrible idea these days. They used to mean something - relating to one's heritage or serving the armed forces, but now they're a dime a dozen. Without that aspect, they are just plain...not smart! And like Others insinuated, people should continue to grow, learn, and have new perspectives, making it likely that today cool tat is tomorrow's regret. Also, like EricDavis noted, check out tattoos on old folks. NOT PRETTY.

All you young whippersnappers out there that don't know what kind of job to get - become a dermatologist with a specialty in tattoo removal. It'll be huge business!!!

Seriously. Between tattoo removal, surgeries for skin cancer from tanning beds, sun, moles, etc., plus wrinkle removal, botox, etc., dermatology is a sure-fire cash jackpot. And it's not that difficult. If I could start college all over again, that's exactly what I would do.

I can't speak to how difficult it is, but it is a competitive field. What I mean is, since it is a field where a lot of services are not pod by insurance; yet, it is in high demand, a lot of med students that don't fall in love with a particular specialty go for dermatology.

I don't know exactly how it works, but since more med students go for dermatology than other fields, only the better-performing med students make it.

FWIW, I think underperforming med students can do very well as drug reps or medical equipment reps
