Yeah, I agree with Paul too. What they gave Braun wasn't enough, in my opinion. Unless they get super serious about it, ie lifetime bans, it'll never stop.

Also, gambling was rampant in baseball before the Black Sox. No one will dare throw a game anymore especially after Pete Rose. You could say they don't need to because of their salaries, but it worked back in the 20's, 30's and so on.

Steroids is a black mark in baseball and not to mention that teens are doing it too. Steroids are very dangerous for teenage boys and they see their major leaguers doing it so they start early on. Stop the madness.

Because other sports don't care. You think football players are that big just because of hard work?

Interesting point, I never actually thought of that.

I didn't either... its really making me question a lot of people.. gawsh this sucks. Someone said in that athletes have a job to be role models, and I think that is true. They have millions of kids looking up to them.

I figured the NBA would be clean, then looked it up. My man D-Rose said that PED's are a "huge" problem in the NBA... Wow... This shit is really making me question everyone... God, this sucks. Who knows who is clean now??? And Braun taught me that not everyone is who they seem to be... Man. I'm just feeling confused now...

Like I told PPFan, I think I'm the only one who doesn't really care...

Who cares about basketball? :p

It's pretty fun to watch but really, I don't see how PEDS would help you in basketball, like, improve your range? I don't see how it would help, maybe HGH.

@Brewers: I said that thing about athletes being role models. ;)

@Prediction: Dude do you see guys like LeBron James? Lots of players are physical beasts and skinny college kids coming in (hello Cody Zeller) would certainly benefit from steroids.

Do some research, son. There a ton of different kinds of drugs that are not legal that can help improve your game. Please read those articles. And strength helps a ton, with rebounding and boxing out, finishing at the rim, defending, etc... Like Paul said, look al LBJ.

Spot on Fuzz, spot the fudge on.

Also to clarify, I wasn't accusing LeBron of juicing or what have you. He's been like that since high school.

And to clarify another thing, I wasn't suggesting that Cody Zeller should juice or what have you, I was suggesting he stay in the D-League.

Yes, I know. I was just saying to look at Lebron because of how dominating he is with his strength. But sadly, apparently you and I are the only ones who care about basketball. :(

And to give Skittles some attention, how do you not care?

I know, right? Wish more people on here were basketball fans.

Oh, I played in the championship for my summer league today. We lost. Second place isn't so bad.

But seriously, if I had anywhere near LeBron's build, I would be so awesome. Then, if anyone had LeBron's build they'd be awesome.

Because you can try and try all you want, but you'll never clear it out. If there's a will, there's a way, and the cheaters will always be a step ahead. They'll learn how to disguise the drugs to go undetected.

And besides, wouldn't you rather have more 7-6 games than 2-1? While we may be more indifferent, I'm sure a whole bunch of casual fans would.

HGH is already practically undetectable. There are probably tons of players who have cleared tests while actively taking it. It's not as beneficial as steroids (nor as harmful) but it sure as hell helps players come back from injury.

In Australia, it's not so much steroids that's the problem, it's the grey areas on the prohibited list. As said by Skittles I think people will always find a way to cheat, in Australian sport it's mainly the use of peptides, but predominately most performance enhancing drug use is seen in the rookie, injured and young players predominately. In the case of the MLB players, suspensions and media attention (leading to loss of endorsements) may be sufficient, especially if the suspensions are without pay. I guess the only question is how you determine severity. Do you give a longer ban to someone like a Barry Bonds a longer suspension because he continually denies usage but thwarted attempts by the process to investigate, or do we give lighter suspensions or none at all to the A-Rods who volunteer their use of banned substances? I guess this will make me think twice about taking that pseudo ephedrine the next time I have a bad cold before a cricket game. When I take pseudoehipdrine I have better endurance at cricket with a cold than when I'm healthy :D
