He's not saying they can't have storylines, he saying the shouldn't be the main focus. A couple people before him said they would probably still play games with great storylines, even of they had shitty controls and gameplay

Are you saying it's wrong to talk to a bag of Skittles? Because if so, I'm going to need to rethink a lot of things. :P

There's a lot more parity in terms of quality in gameplay than plot in my opinion.

I voted story.

Why do people love Silent Hill 2 so much, then?

I'd say gameplay, but that ties into replay value as well, I think most of the others tie into replay value rather than that being a thing on it's own. If a game is fun to play then it will almost definitely still be fun to play again. Good music might not be necessary for replay value, but you can't have music so annoying it turns people away from the end. And having a good story that you might even notice new things about when you play through again also adds to re-playability, if a story is cringe-worthy the first time you won't likely want to go through it again at all.

They all carry importance, and some games can stand out with just 1 great aspect even if they lack in others. Well, maybe not music, graphics and originality. If a game has terrible gameplay and story, good music and graphics wouldn't help any, and originality isn't a factor at all. I could probably come up with a game idea that's 100% original but it wouldn't be good, because it would have no story, terrible graphics, gameplay and music. And if a game just has good music, you might as well just listen to the soundtrack.
