Baseball and track

Well, only track now, I'll be playing baseball again next year.

I really miss it

Yeah, my travel ball season just ended last weekend.

Played 4 sports in junior high (baseball/football/basketball/soccer) and two in high school (baseball/football) unless you count church basketball.

For you guys that want to play college ball and haven't been approached by any schools yet, work hard, hustle, and exhibit good makeup. I can't stress that last one enough. Things changed for me after I applied a tip from an old scout who was at one of our Legion games the summer after my sophomore year. He said he liked what he saw until I struck out, and it wasn't the strikeout that bothered him - it was my body language. I got pissed off, slammed my helmet in the rack and took my AB out in the field with me. I told him I was upset with myself and wanted my teammates to know that I felt like I let them down. He said mistakes happen, it's part of the game. The real trick is to process the positive information you can learn from the event, and let the rest of it go before the next pitch. Otherwise, it shows a lack of metal toughness which leads to more mistakes.

I was never able to let things go, but I learned how to act like I did and it made a huge difference in the way I was perceived by teammates, coaches, etc.

Watch ballplayers on TV. Study and emulate their mannerisms. Anyone can play baseball, but you can't be a ballplayer until you act like a ballplayer.

And that applies to more sports than just baseball. Any sport really. Mental toughness is huge.

I play basketball (skills team!) and baseball (dreams of college or even pro but only if I'm not stuck in the outfield/at first base)

I don't know what to vote for. I play three sports (basketball, soccer, and baseball) in rec leagues, but I play basketball and soccer for school, so I dunno.

Basketball, baseball and football for me.

The team for people who suck so badly that they don't even make JV. There's a no-cut policy at our school.

I really wish the school I play for had baseball. Although, I hear they're supposed to get it in a couple of years, so I'd pretty much be A) The oldest, and B) the ace.
