Call of Duty and so, SO many other games in this genre are incredibly bland/unoriginal, maddeningly popular, a point of obsession for an incredible amount of elementary/middle-schoolers (which is being supported by their parents, mind you. THEIR PARENTS!), and pointlessly violent.

Their mere prolonged existence is a point of much contention for me.

It's games like that that take away from the development of things like Portal or L.A. Noire that require more than a pulse to play.
