I like my haul.

Money, some candy, and one gift card to Pizza Delight that I don't even know what amount it's in. I'll have to make more of an effort to make Christmas lists in the future because that was the most boring Christmas ever, I would have been more excited to get socks. Still, can't complain, even if it sounds like I am, the amount of money from various people was more than generous enough, but I just find it more interesting to open presents, even when it winds up being something you don't like. I might even prefer gift cards to money, with money it feels like I should just put it into my savings or I'm being irresponsible, whereas with gift cards you pretty much have to spend them on something for yourself.

I may just go against my instinct to save the money and spend it on a cheap (low-memory) PS3 for my room, but I don't know if I want to do that or not, we already have a PS3 in the other room, but getting one for my room would be more convenient for making videos or streaming stuff. Either that or combine the money I got from Christmas with money I already had saved and buy some kind of musical instrument, no idea what kind though, I kind of want a 6 string bass guitar, but the music store here doesn't have a very good selection. Really I probably shouldn't get anything bigger than a harmonica or storage space would be a pretty big issue.

Next year I should just randomly find games to ask for, even if they just look slightly intriguing, I mean, that's how I found MLB Power Pros back in 2007, a holiday or birthday was coming up and I had no idea what to ask for, so I was looking at stuff online and came across MLB Power Pros, thought it might be fun to play for a week or so, so I asked for that. I didn't imagine it would be anywhere near as good as it actually turned out to be.

- home gym set from Gold's. One of those over-doorframe pull-up bars that can also do dips and arm supports for leg lifts, those spinny floor pushup things, ab roller, workout dvd, etc
- fencing foil! deluxe awesome one that I wanted

- 4 books - Buccaneer, John Cleese, Elizabeth Warren, and my wife got me The Little Prince (kid's book)
- 3 CDs - Chris Thile and Edgar Meyer Bass + Mandolin, John Cowan's Sixty, and Dan Wilson Love Without Fear
- Family guy PS3 game, back to the multiverse
- wife and I got a $100 amazon card to share
- JC penney gift card (acquantaince who didnt know me well)
- Godiva chocolate liquer set (white chocolate and regular)
- two joke tee shirts - BaZinGa and Genius elements from discovery store
- white noise machine (my wife snores, I may have made that public knowledge enough to get present around it, lol)
- chocolate covered pomegranates, two milk chocolate oranges
- bath sponge
- traded for two Star Wars Old Republic books I hadn't read while I was home with family

I gave some pretty awesome gifts, from groupons to restaurants, wine tastings, and reptile museums, to the newest iPod touch and some jewelry to the wife, gift cards to all my friends with kids, gifts from their registries to those that had them...I was able to re-gift 18 young adult Star Wars books I had gathered and read while rehabbing from my sprained ankle...altogether I dropped around $1250 on gifts for family and friends. It's nice making enough money to share it a bit.
