Because the Price trade makes absolutely no sense.

No, that was just Dave Dombrowski using his Jedi Mind Tricks on Andrew Friedman. Everybody knows that. :P

Meanwhile, Alex Rios is an established major league player, and doesn't deserve to rot in A ball. AAA ball would be more suitable, or, heck, the majors!

I didn't know Dave Dombrowski is the GM of the Astros and Andrew Friedman is the GM of the Red Sox

how in the world does it not make sense to give up a decent prospect (Springer was struggling big-time, and had been for the past two years), a guy with upside but no clear position in Fisher, and two nobodies for a total stud and three really good prospects (all have 3 or more star potential iirc)?

Spoiler alert: Rios does okay, moves up to AA, does meh, moves up to AAA, sucks, and gets waived within two months. So starting him in AAA (where I had no room for him at the time) not only wouldn't have made sense, but would've led to me cutting him a lot quicker than I did, which would've served no purpose

I really hope this is sarcasm... That's even worse than the real Price trade

I do not understand how upgrading from two to three good prospects while getting Price for Sclafani and Heras is a bad trade.

Anyways, Mark Lamm

Not really. The prospects are developing at a good pace, and with the new budget I should be able to keep this current core and possibly acquire a big name FA. Possibly.

Just realized I forgot to do the season stats. Too late now, whoops

I don't know man. I think it's understandable that you're not competing yet, but you're still racking up 100 losses. That's pretty unacceptable. It also doesn't help that you traded away all the Astros big prospects except Folty.

Astros Make Huge Splash, Land Strasburg

The Houston Astros proved today that they are willing to empty their pockets to win a championship - and they did it in style, signing starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg to a contract paying him 40 million dollars a year over the next seven years, with a player option for an eighth year in 2024. Strasburg, 28, is a four-time All-Star and has won each of the last three Cy Young awards. He had previously been pitching for the Washington Nationals, for whom he posted an 86-39 record, a 2.50 ERA, and 1389 strikeouts in 1142.2 innings. Fans were ecstatic when learning of this news.

Around the League…

In other offseason news, the Angels have traded for former Toronto shortstop Jose Reyes…Reds outfielder Jay Bruce was traded to the Yankees…And last but not least, Houston GM Parker Bernhart claims that he received a trade offer from the Rangers offering pitcher Yu Darvish in exchange for Anthony Rizzo and two high-ceiling prospects.
