Did I forget to mention that? Apparently I did.

I traded for him since he had nowhere to play. Rangers signed Cano, so they had him, Kinsler, and Andrus occupying the 2B, DH, and SS positions, which Profar just riding the bench. So because they had four guys for three spots, they were willing to give one up for dirt cheap. I could have gotten any of them (except Cano) for just Ely, but that seemed a bit unfair. So I just picked the worst one (Profar) and added one of my random outfield prospects (Burgess) and packaged him with Ely. Obviously not the fairest trade I've ever seen, but considering the Rangers circumstances, it's not terrible. It certainly would have never happened in real life, but the Rangers never would have realistically signed Cano either. I would have given up more, but the other prospects I was willing to trade were also middle infielders, which kinds defeats the point.

Ely has to be like a 65 ovr, C pot., right? Why were they willing to send Profar (70s, A pot. I'm assuming) for him straight up?

He's 73 with D potential (don't know how that works), but actually had a pretty good 2013 (113.2 IP, 10-6, 89 K, 3.56 ERA, 1.44 WHIP).

The trade system has always been kinda screwy though. For example, if I wanted, I could send DeShields Jr for Lester or Price or Zimmermann or Lee or Cashner or reigning Cy Young Winner Doug Fister, all straight up. Of course, there is some sort of reason for most of them, even if they don't make the most sense.

Just called up Polanco to replace J.D. Martinez, just like the Super 2 deadline. Singleton and Crick will be up at the beginning of next season most likely.

The fact that Rios got traded three times in four days...

Also, Bogaerts & Middlebrooks for Miggy = Not a bad trade

Is that 3B Josh Fields, the former White Sox player (aka Great Hart)? Or is it some randomly generated minor leaguer?
