January 1st, 2012 "Happy new year all you Cook Islanders out there! It is now 2012, and it has been announced that in 2013, there will be a Professional Baseball League in the Cook Islands. Multi-millionaire, Koga Ta'Ansen, a big baseball fan has announced that he will run the league and general manage a team. There will be anywhere from 10-16 teams in this league. Koga has started hiring crews to build underwater stadiums thanks to the lack of land in the Cook Islands. All of the teams will be based out of Avarua, the capital city, for the first season. The schedule will have 200 games for each team every season. We'll have more as the story progresses!" |

2/26/13 BNN News Embattled Acorns player, Jorge Herrera, got some bad news today. A new and somewhat controversial DNA test has reported that the 1B is likely older than originally reported. Team officials are still trying to obtain official documents from Herrera's native country, Cuba, but due to the player's 'illegal emigration' it appears that the government has no plans on giving out the player's records. In the meantime, a DNA test was used to try and get some more immediate answers. Speaking through a translator, Herrera said he would not let the results affect his game play. "I'm saddened that this has to come up, but I still plan to come play games." |
