"Yes, everyone please find a seat. For those of you that don't know, this is Mike Jacobs, head scout for the Washington Nationals and he will be accompanying us. I know you all have practice, so I'll cut straight to the mustard. I have four envelops for the you and each has a contract extension with some big time money. Now it may not seem like much, but I need you guys to understand what we're doing here. We do not have a big market and, sadly, I cannot reveal why until next year. I guess you're just going to have to trust me. I hope all of you agree to our terms, and if you don't we will try to find you a another home by years end."

I handed them the envelops, making sure they were the right ones.

"Please do not open the envelops until you return to your hotels. Go over with these with your agent and please contact me within two weeks. Contracts are up to negotiation."

One of the interesting things with this log is I'm not going to guarantee draft picks. Say, for example, the Nationals win the World Series the year before they get Harper. Then they won't get Harper. Same with other teams, but I'll only do this if the draft spot is dramatic (going from the 2nd draft pick to the 17th)
