I'm guessing it was some kind of glitch.

By the way, tomorrow, I'll have a pre-May power rankings update up.

MLB Power Rankings 5/1/2012

1. Detroit Tigers (14-9) 1st in AL Central
The Tigers are the top team going into April. They are 6-4 in their last ten games and have put up a 10-4 home record, one of the best in the MLB. Although most of the Tigers stats see, to be cold after April, they have done well, putting up the best record in the AL Central.

2. Boston Redsox (14-9) 2nd in AL East
The BoSox put up a 14-9 record in the month of April. The Redsox have a low team batting average of .250 and posted a 3.84 team ERA. David Ortiz has been the Sox's hottest hitter batting .301 with 5 home runs. The Redsox are currently on a 3-game winning streak and it should be fun to see of they can keep this momentum going in May.

3. St. Louis Cardinals (12-10) 4th in NL Central
The Redbirds disappointed their fans in April putting up a 12-10 record, which is obviously solid, but didn't impress St. Louis fans. Although the Cardinals are supposed to have the best contact hitting ability in the MLB they batted .261 as a tea, in April. The Cardinals will try to bounce back in May to at least get into third place.

4. New York Yankees (15-8) 1st in AL East
The Bronx Bombers had a great month of April, going 15-8 and posting an 8-game winning streak going into May. The Yanks batted an amazing .290 in April and have been one of the top batting teams in the MLB. They also posted an 8-3 home record, at Yankee Stadium.

5. Los Angeles Dodgers (17-6) T-1st in NL West
The Dodgers had a great month of April, tying for the best record in the MLB at 17-6. The Dodgers are one of, if not the best teams in the MLB. They are 3rd in the MLB at contact, 2nd in defense, 1st in pitching, and 2nd in speed. The only category that Big Blue lacks is power.

6. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (16-7) 1st in AL West
The Angels have posted a 16-7 record through April, good for the best record in the AL. For their last 10, the Angels have gone 7-3, and have a 7-4 home record, and a 9-3 road record. Mark Trumbo and Erick Aybar have been leading the Angels offense as of late as both players are batting above .330 and have combined for 7 homers and 24 RBI.

7. Texas Rangers (5-18) 4th in AL West
The Rangers did flat out horrible in April. They disappointed with a 5-18 record, worst in the AL. We have them this high in the power rankings, because we believe April was a fluke. They won their last game of April which certainly will give them plenty of momentum heading into May.

8. San Francisco Giants (12-10) 3rd in NL West
San Fran had a decent month going 12-10, while posting one of the best ERA's in baseball, 3.05. They also put up a solid slugging percentage, .437. The Giants had a terrible record at AT&T Park going 2-7, but posted an amazing road record, 10-3.

9. Cincinnati Reds (12-10) 3rd in NL Central
The Reds went 12-10 in April, not particularly excelling in any category. They have been lead by the MVP-caliber play of Jay Bruce though, who is holding a .321-clip and has 7 home runs through April.

10. Colorado Rockies (11-11) 4th in NL West
The Rockies had a mediocre month going .500. They only went 5-8 at home but posted an above average 6-3 road record. Colorado has been led by the solid play of Carlos Gonzalez who is sporting a .313 batting average and has batted in 14 runs.

11. Atlanta Braves (5-18) 5th in NL East
Although, they are currently last in their division, we have them ranked number one. The Braves lost 18 games in April, which was a big fluke. They posted a poor 2-8 home record, and a 3-10 road record. On the bright side, Chipper Jones had a great month hitting .319 with 6 home runs.

12. Milwaukee Brewers (16-7) 1st in NL Central
The Brewers did not disappoint in April going 16-7 thanks to the excellent play of Ryan Braun, whose stat line is .315 7 25. The Brewers are 8-2 in their last 10 games which should give them some great momentum going into May. The Brewers also posted a 9-2 road record, one of the best in baseball.

13. Baltimore Orioles (12-11) 3rd in AL East
The Orioles went 12-11 in April, good for 3rd in the rather stacked AL East. The O's did the best in division games in the AL East going 7-3 in divisional games. Meanwhile, Brian Roberts has had a great season batting .340 with 33 hits.

14. Toronto Blue Jays (8-15) 5th in AL East
The Jays had a poor month of April putting up an 8-15 record. The Jays are definitely trying to get back in the division race though, adding many pitchers to their bullpen and rotation. Toronto posted a horrible division record, 2–10.

15. Tampa Bay Rays (11-12) 4th in AL East
Tampa went 11-12 in April, while not a bad record, this definitely won't be enough to go anywhere in the AL East. The team slugged their way to 11 victories with a .436 slugging percentage. Wil Myers had an outstanding month batting .349 with 4 home runs scoring 16 runs.

I decided to do the top half of the power rankings for now. The bottom 15 will be coming later tonight maybe. Anyway, what do you guys think of this update? It took quite awhile.

It's not bad. But I think you're ranking criteria is way off. You can't rank them based on how they should be performing. The Braves and Rangers are terrible so far, and because of that, they should be in the 25-30. You can't just give them top ten rankings because their month has been "a fluke". Once they prove that they can win, then you move them up.

Alright. The rankings for this month were based on team overall. In the future, I'll rank the teams.

I was about to say, with how my Marlins performed in May, they should've been in the Top 15! :D

Sorry that I haven't been on PS3 much to do this. I should finish the power rankings today or tomorrow.

Hey guys, do you mind if I don't finish up the power rankings? I'd like to give some updates, but I'm too lazy to finish the power rankings.

I think that a top 15 or even a top 10 power rankings would suffice. Or just drop them completely if you don't want to do them.
