I think this game also has Kevin Millar (Anthony Freese, Red Sox) and Barry Bonds (I forget his name, but you can find him on the Giants)

Gosh, it's been a while, but this log is bringing back the nostalgia. :)

Zero, I think I'm going to leave those players' names as they are, because I don't think they're intended to represent the players you mentioned (although they do fill their spots). Also, I like the name "Michael-Sea Morgan".

And Zumi, yeah, Jon Dowd is Barry's in-game name.

Wish I could get that game. Said to be the best modern baseball game and I'm sure I'd have a blast figuring out all the fake names.

Tensions Run High in Los Angeles
April 29th, 2005

In the seventh inning of the Colorado Rockies' match-up against the Dodgers on Friday, Danny McKnight stepped to the plate. The rookie, who is batting over .300, has garnered a reputation for talking trash, and this showed in today's game as he exchanged words with Rockies starter Jeff Francis. After McKnight struck out for the third time in as many at-bats, Francis said something that clearly irked McKnight, as the latter nearly came charging out of the dugout but was restrained by Dodgers second baseman Jeff Kent. The Rockies went on to win the game by a score of 3 to 0.

Just a little of my own nit-picking-Could you specify whether its LAD or LAA?

And will you holla when you learn some of the created players on other teams have been called up? And mebbe their stats at end of year?

Sorry if I'm being too demanding...

Considering they're the Rockies and it's April, I'd say it's safe to assume it's LAD, but clarification in the future would be swaggin'.

Oh. Forgot how inter-league is only in July or whatever. My bad.

Well, the Angels were still Anaheim in this game, so they will be abbreviated as ANA.

And updates about the other players will definitely be made as they become relevant.

Cathaway Executes First Trade
April 30th, 2005
By Zachary Bluth

Following the Rockies' 8-1 win over the Dodgers, Michael Cathaway and Orioles GM Jim Beattie announced that a deal had been struck between the two clubs over the course of the afternoon. The Rockies sent 30-year old starting pitcher Jamey Wright, who is nursing an arm injury, to the Orioles in exchange for 21-year old pitcher Adam Loewen, who is widely regarded as a top prospect. Wright started three games for the Rockies in April, going 0-1 with a 4.60 ERA. Meanwhile, Adam Loewen went 2-2 in five starts with a 4.10 ERA while pitching for the AAA Ottawa Lynx.

Loewen has yet to see major league time, but will do so with his new club; Cathaway immediately promoted the lefty, and Clint Hurdle has announced his intention to use him in the bullpen while Denny Neagle takes over as the team's fifth starter.

"Initially we'll be using him in sort of a mop-up role," said Hurdle, "but if he performs we'll be confident to using him in closer ballgames."

Denny Neagle, Wright's replacement, has pitched well in relief to this point, posting a 1.84 ERA in 14.2 innings. Both Michael Cathaway and Clint Hurdle expressed confidence in his ability to return to a starting role, where he was last year.

While the Rockies' record stands at a solid 12-11, the team is not expected to make the playoffs, and a move like this is likely to be beneficial in the long term. If all goes well, Adam Loewen could be making in impact as major league starting pitcher by Opening Day 2006.

I like the deal. Adam Loewen was a pretty solid pitcher before he converted.

Awesome, thanks! :D

Nice trade too. And 12-11 is a solid record.
