This will be an introductory post to the idea as I'm not at the PS3 to check things out right now, I'll update more in when I get there. Feel free to ask questions because I'm sure I'll forget something. I believe the league is in 2016-2017 right now, which would make it Season 5, I think... I joined in the season 4 offseason and wound up with a team that honestly wasn't that good, so I'm still trying to recover from that. Basically GM Connected is like and Online version of GM mode, where you build a team and try to win with it. I think this league has something like 20 humans controlling teams, but it may be less as some people were kicked out due to inactivity. I was going to post my lineup here from memory, but I think I would screw up a lot on the 3rd and 4th line, so you'll have to wait for that. For now, I'll just say my captains. Captain: Dougie Hamilton Assistant Captain: Nathan Horton Assistant Captain: Dmitry Kulikov Now that I list those I'm not even sure if I'm right on Kulikov, but if I'm not I'll make him one when I get on. In this league, they alternate between what they call "sim season" and "play season". In "sim season" they advance one advancement period (which is two weeks of in game time) every day, leaving a lot of games to be simulated, whereas in "play season" it advances every 3 days to encourage people to play as many games as they can manage. It's currently "play season". I'll try to update the log for every advancement period, and maybe more if I want to include summaries of highlight-worthy games. In the last offseason, I left the team mostly the same, but signed Free Agents Ryan Kesler and Nathan Horton both to 12 million dollar, 1 year contracts. These signings brought my team offense to a 4.5 star rating, now it's time to see how the team can do this season. I actually didn't see where we finished last season, but I know it wasn't good. |
