So, here I am with yet another log. I've been into the Show lately and am thinking about an RttS log. Here we go!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was sitting on my bed thinking about that last high school game. The game that I went 0-4 with 3 K's in our 10-3 loss in the semi-finals of the state playoffs. I was really disaapointed and thought that had to drop my draft stock quite a bit for the 2011 MLB Draft. Before that game I was rumored to be going in the top 10 but now I'm ranked as a mid-to-late 1st rounder, which is obviously still good but not as good as previously.

I went and walked to Denny's to get some breakfast and was greeted by all of the fans of Middlebrook High—there were many because it was a small town— with their usual "Stan-ton Stan-ton" chant.

I ordered my usual chocolate chip pancakes and scarfed all 6 of them down quickly.

Nicole, my waitress who I also happened to be dating, asked me when I thought I'd be drafted, I replied that I probably wouldn't go til the early second round trying to sound humble, yet she said I'd go 1st overall to the Pirates but I thanked her while thinking to myself (Over Gerrit Cole, I don't think so).

I then jogged home and after hearing a couple hundred people on the way home talking about me, I put in MLB 11: The Show and created myself as I was just about to be drafted. I didn't know what position to give myself as I was a utility man and did everything but pitching in High School.

I was a career .461 hitter with 27 homers in my 4 years of high school ball, freshman p,us varsity as I made varsity as a Sophomore.

It was officially draft time and I had just tuned in to ESPN and started to watch the draft.

I heard Bud Selig announcing "With the first pick of the 2011 MLB Draft the Pittsburgh Pirates select..."

That one second that Bud was announcing the pick felt like a year to me, in that one second my while High School career flashed back to my memory. Me going 6-6 with 2 homers in the legendary state championship win in my junior year, all the way to a week ago going 0-4 with 3 Ks losing the state semifinals versus Rockland who ended up winning the State championship.

...Pitcher, Gerrit Cole!"

I sat back with a slight bit of disappointment that I didn't get picked first but knew I wasn't going 1st anyway.

"With the second pick of the 2011 MLB Draft, the Seattle Mariners select, pitcher, Danny Hultzen!"

I thought, oh know, I might actually go in the second round! I'm so insecure, I thought to myself.

"With the third pick of the 2011 MLB Draft the Arizona Diamondbacks select shortstop, Rudy Stanton!"

I couldnt believe it! I got picked third in the MLB Draft! I partied all night with my family and sent in my number request for the Mobile Bay Bears, number 7, my lucky high school number.

After the draft I became friends with almost every Bay Bear on twitter.

My first week of Professional Baseball: April 5-11, 2012

April 5th, 5 game series vs. Mississippi Braves

Game 1
My first at bat was against Michael Lacey. My first at bat, I stroked a linedrive over the shortstop's head for an RBI triple. I couldn't believe that my first AB was an RBI triple.

In my 2nd at bat, I ripped another RBI single off of Lacey. My next AB, I grounded out. In my fourth AB, I faced Brin Tsao and smashed a single. In my fifth AB, I flew out off of Mitch Grove. An overall good game going 3-5 with a triple and 2 RBIs. W 6-0

A very bad week for me, I thought to myself. I got to get out of this slump!

I decided to visit to drive to Middlebrooks, which luckily was close by Chattanooga in Tennessee.

I visited the bat shop, because I don't get my bats from the team. I talked to Mr. Espinosa, longtime owner of the bat shop. He congratulated me on being picked in the draft and asked how I was doing. I said I was doing ok and said I was in a big slump, which was why I came here. I had hoped to pick up Mr. Espinosa's new shipping of bamboos. He said that he just got a new shipping of white handle-red barrel bamboos. I said that'd be good and bought 20 of em.

Hopefully this can get me out of my slump, I thought to myself.
