Darn it...

Is it hard changing back and forth between this and '13?

Yeah, but it also helps me to appreciate all the changes that were made to the presentation of RttS in '13.

And if the other career modes I've played are any indication, Harper will probably start the year on the MLB bench.

Today marks the end of the MLB Postseason and the beginning of contract re-siginings. The New York Yankees ultimately triumphed, sweeping the Atlanta Braves in the World Series.

Many players have called it quits already; some of the most notable include:

NYY 1B Jim Thome (42)
TB RF Matt Joyce (28 due to injury, poor guy)
TOR C Jason Kendall (38)
CWS C Jason Varitek (40)
CLE CF Mike Cameron (40)
KC LF Garret Anderson (40)
TEX RF Bobby Abreu (38)
FLA RF Magglio Ordonez (39)
WSH Ivan Rodriguez (41)
PHI SS Marco Scutaro (37)
PHI 1B Mike Sweeney (39)
MIL SP Randy Wolf (36)
PIT LF Manny Ramirez (40)
STL RP Octavio Dotel (39)
COL 3B Ty Wiggington (35)
SF LF Pat Burrell (36)

Funny, I remember most of these guys' first few seasons from when I was just a kid. Time goes by too fast...

Well, it didn't take long for the Cubs to offer me a contract, though I can't say I'm thrilled about the terms:

$108,000/year
1 Year
AA Starter
No Option

Tom suggested that I hold out for a while to see if that offer would improve, but the salary was fine and I had no hope they would change the "AA Starter" part of it. I suppose it's warranted, given that my ankle and shin injuries have hindered my progression, but given the release of Jae-Kuk Seo, I figured I would, at minimum, be a AAA backup. Oh well, I guess it'll be nice to be an unquestioned starter once again.
