AAA

also what in the *(censored)* is that rangers lineup

thank you for beating that. that kind of lineup cannot win a game and Virtual Jeff Banister needs to learn that

Looking at their DL, it includes:

-Jeremy Jeffress
-Elvis Andrus
-Jake Diekman
-Jonathan Lucroy
-Prince Fielder (out 331 months)

So, maybe we can give virtual Banister a bit of a pass?

Andrus and Lucroy are the only big losses there, but I guess so

plus their best hitter (Odor, who I noticed is hitting like .307) was out of the lineup too

I guess

Pre-game
Nothing to report.

AROUND THE LEAGUE
-All-Star Game voting is open! Woo!

The Game

Tigers (29-15) @ Astros (16-29)

Matchup: Verlander (5-2, 2.35 ERA) vs. Kuechel (3-5, 4.47)

DET - 5 | 14 | 0
HOU - 4 | 8 | 0

W - Verlander (6-2)
L - Devenski (1-1)

PoTG: Josh Reddick (HOU)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Tigers eked out a victory in Houston on the back of Justin Upton's first-inning solo shot, Ian Kinsler's 3-for-4 day, and J.D. Martinez's 2 RBI. Houston almost could've won with Josh Reddick's performance. He only saw five pitches all game, but went 3-for-4 with a solo homer, 3 RBI, and clutch hitting. It would've been four RBI if not for a spectacular catch by Justin Upton in the bottom of the eighth to keep the game 5-4. K-Rod had a 1-2-3 ninth to close it out.

AROUND THE LEAGUE
Nothing to report.

The Game

Tigers (30-15) @ Astros (16-30)

Matchup: Greene (4-1, 2.50 ERA) vs. McHugh (1-4, 6.29)

DET - 4 | 6 | 0
HOU - 6 | 8 | 0

W - Hoyt (3-2)
L - Greene (4-2)
S - Giles (8)

PoTG: Yulieski Gurriel (HOU)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Despite Justin Upton homering for the third game in a row, with a 2-run shot in the first, Shane Greene fell apart in his start. He allowed a two-run triple by Carlos Correa and a 2-run homer by Yulieski Gurriel in the third and fourth innings, the latter of which proved to be the difference in this game.

AROUND THE LEAGUE
Nothing to report.

The Game

Tigers (30-16) @ Astros (17-30)

Matchup: Zimmermann (4-2, 3.97 ERA) vs. McCullers, Jr. (1-3, 5.40)

DET - 1 | 3 | 0

W - Zimmermann (5-2)
L - McCullers, Jr. (1-4)
S - Rodriguez (12)

PoTG: Jordan Zimmermann (DET)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Runs and hits were at a premium today, and James McCann knew it. His solo shot off Lance McCullers Jr. was the only run of the ballgame, and Jordan Zimmermann pitched a gem to help the Tigers win two out of the first three games in Houston.

(10 innings)

W - J. Wilson (3-1)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Two two-run homers by Miguel Cabrera helped the Tigers take the series from the Astros. AROUND THE LEAGUE
Nothing to report.

The Game

Tigers (32-16) @ White Sox (18-29)

Matchup: Norris (3-0, 3.74 ERA) vs. Rodon (2-6, 4.86)

DET - 3 | 6 | 1
CHW - 9 | 12 | 0

W - Rodon (3-6)
L - Norris (3-1)

PoTG: Carlos Rodon (CHW)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The White Sox got to Daniel Norris today in a big way, roughing him up for six earned runs in today's contest, including homers to Geovany Soto and Cody Asche. A three-run shot by Yoan Moncada off Alex Wilson sealed the deal in a five-run sixth. Nate Jones gave up a leadoff hit in the eighth, and proceeded to strike out the next six Tigers batters in order to end the game.

The only highlight for the Tigers was that Justin Upton hit his 17th homer of the season.

CHW - 3 | 4 | 1

W - Sanchez (3-0)
L - Gonzalez (1-7)

PoTG: Victor Martinez (DET)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Justin Verlander was one out away from getting the win today, but had to leave with two outs in the fourth with forearm tightness, and is listed as day-to-day for five days.

Victor Martinez went yard twice for the Tigers, while Steven Moya and Nick Castellanos also chipped in with the longball. Martinez and Moya were both 3-for-5 for the contest.
