BYU HIRED NEW COACH

Brigham Young University has hired a new coach in Joseph Smith, who hopes to leaf the team to a 2006 title. BYU has a two star program and is ranked 36th nationally. The college hopes Joesph Smith can get the team to Omaha. BYU has a C+ in Pitching, and A+ in batting, an A in fielding and a D in running. The season begins on 2/7 as the Cougars take on Cal State Fullerton.

Based on my experience, I've found it far easier to bark (or even branch) teams to titles, but hey, more power to you!

In the 1st inning Fullerton get a triple with 2 out. A flyout to left ends the threat.

In the 6th Fullerton hits a solo home run to break the scoreless tie, 1 - 0. A double follows with 2 outs. Einspahr drops an easy catch and allows a runner to get on 1st and another one to score, 2- 0. A single moves the runner up. A groundout to Gulin ends the inning.

In the 8th inning Fullerton hits a double that scores one, 3 - 0. A groundout ends the side.

In the 9th inning Fullerton hits a single that scores one with 1 out, 4 - 0. Another single moves the runners up one base. Another single has the runner try for home, but get thrown out by Einsphar. A flyout to Hernandez ends the side.

In the bottom of the 9th BYU has Gulin single to center. Trombley hits a fielders choice and gets Gulin out but is safe on 2st. Einsphar pops out to 1st. Feinberg comes up with 2 outs and lines a ball deep to left, which is caught on a dive. Fullerton Wins.

W - Nieves 1 - 0
L - Corrado 0 - 1

Overall a great fielding and pitching performance but we had no bats. We were facing one of the best pitchers in NCAA so it's understandable

In the 2nd inning BYU's Scott Hernandez hit a groundout to move D. Ruan to 2nd, with 2 outs. Kevin Supple came up and grounded out to 2nd to end any chance of a score.

In the 3rd inning Fullerton hits a single to put men on 1st and 3rd with 2 outs. A flyout to CF end their chance.

In the 3rd inning BYU's Gulin hits a double with no outs. Trombley hits a single to left and moves Gulin to 3rd. Einspahr hits a FC to 2nd and gets Trombley out, but Einspahr is safe and Gulin scores, 0 - 1. Feinberg hits into a double play to end the inning.

In the 5th inning Fullerton hits a double to left. A sac bunt moves the runner to 3rd with 1 out. A flyout to center makes it a two out clutch situation, when Fullerton hits a 2 run HR, 2 - 1.

In the 6th inning BYU's Ben Huber hits a 2 run homer to take the lead, 2 - 3.

In the 7th inning Fullerton hits a single and puts runners on 1st and 2nd with 1 out. Another single scores the runner and keeps runners at 1st and 2nd, 3 - 3. A single loads the bases. A perfect liner to first is caught and stepped on the 1st base bag to end the inning.

In the 8th inning BYU's Huber hits a single and moves Einspahr to 2nd with 2 outs. Saturria pops out to SS and ends the inning.

In the 11th inning a Fullerton double makes threat with 1 out. A groundout to 3rd makes it 2 outs, but am error on the CF scores a runner, 4 - 3. A 2 run HR puts the game away, as BYU does not score, and the game end 6 - 3. in 11 innings.
