100 games now into the season, and we're still doing pretty well. And now, on to Anaheim for a 4-game series with the Angels. Should be fun.

Sucks for Verlander to go down for perhaps the rest of the season, but with the addition of Price, albeit, at the expense of two decent players that have struggled at points this year, we should be set until Verlander comes back.

Jackson, I think, needed a change of scenery from his struggles, and the sparseness of crowds in Tampa may or may not help, plus Tampa needed help in center, because Jennings has been struggling for them, as well. The call-up of Robbie Ray (who was posting a 5 ERA at AAA) might be able to help in the short-term, but long-term, it could be an audition for next year's rotation. Calling Carrera up is really a temporary replacement at best; I may swing a deal for an outfielder at the deadline for a low-level prospect, but I'm not expecting anything on that front.

Yes, I may have re-created the trade that happened in real life to a point, but the other teams I talked to wanted too many prospects (and/or Nick Castellanos, who I was not giving up) for mediocre options. Hopefully, the trade will play out well for us, and we'll make a good run in the playoffs.

This trade? Should be fun. :)

True, but even putting 4 of my best prospects in the trade wasn't enough. They wanted, usually, Castellanos, Scherzer, or Verlander to pull off the trade. I wasn't going to do that.

Well, at least we salvaged the last game of the month. Overall, this was a successful month, and hopefully the stretch run will benefit us even more.

Next post will be the monthly recap! Stay tuned!

Yeah, I almost wanted to make a trade so I didn't have to put the "No News" moniker in there, but I didn't feel like I needed any more upgrades at this point.

And, yes, that is also one of the things I have a problem with, too, but I haven't seen no trades on trade deadline day yet in any of my save files.
