Seriously, man. That is nifty as *(censored)*.

But wait, what happens if there's extra innings?

Late Rally Propels O's to Victory
by Gregor Chisholm, MLB.com
Friday, June 20, 2015

Image
TORONTO - Orioles outfielder Nelson Cruz homers off Todd Redmond.

The Jays drop their 3rd straight, losing tonight's game by a final score of 5-3.

The Orioles tacked on a very early run thanks to a Nelson Cruz double, but after that, Jays starter R.A. Dickey turned in a wonderful game, scattering 8 hits and giving up just that 1 run over 7 innings while also striking out 5 O's batters.

The O's bullpen had to work much harder than expected tonight, as starter Miguel Gonzalez had to leave the game after only facing 2 batters and retiring 1 of them. Brad Brach came in and pitched 3.1 shutout innings before yielding to Ryan Webb, who was looking like he was in good shape himself until the 6th inning. Webb retired the first 2 batters of that inning before the Jays staged a 2-out rally, started by a solo homer by Hayden Goldson, his 11th on the year. 3 straight singles by John Scott, Kent Murphy, and Brett Lawrie helped set up the Jays' biggest hit of the game, a 2-run, go-ahead single by Anthony Gose, giving the Jays a 3-1 lead, and making it look like Dickey was on his way to a well-deserved win.

That would not end up being the case.

Not to be outdone by the Blue Jays' comeback, the Orioles staged a rally of their own once Dickey left the game. Todd Redmond came in to pitch the top of the 8th, where he would give up a solo shot to Nelson Cruz (his 14th) and an RBI double to right fielder Nick Markakis. Redmond escaped with no further damage in the inning, but it was too late, as the O's had tied the game up at 3 apiece.

Just because the inning was over, doesn't mean their rally was as well. With a lefty (David Lough), a switch-hitter (Steve Lombardozzi), and another lefty (Chris Davis) set to lead off the top of the 9th, southpaw Yoshimitsu Tsuchii was called on to pitch that inning and hopefully a couple more if it came to that. That plan would backfire though, as Tsuchii failed to retire any of the three batters he faced. Both runs scored in that inning were earned and attributed to Tsuchii, one of the runs coming off a single by Chris Davis that he himself gave up, and another coming via one of his inherited runners scoring on a single by Cruz. Tommy Hunter came in and pitched a scoreless 9th for his 22nd save on the year.

With the loss today, the Orioles and Blue Jays are now perched together atop the AL East standings. There are still two more games left in the series, should be interesting to see if one of the two clubs can get the lead when the series is all over. The Jays will need to win both of those games in order to avoid losing this series to their division rivals.

I know that you can't change the strengths and weaknesses. Not sure if it's this or not.

Stradley Strong as Jays Beat White Sox
by Gregor Chisholm, MLB.com
Monday, June 30, 2015

Image
TORONTO - David DeJesus strikes out chasing a Dean Stradley screwball.

The Blue Jays take the first game of the series and the last of the month, defeating the White Sox by a score of 6-2.

Despite this, the Jays had no easy task going into the ballgame, as they had to go up against Sox ace Chris Sale. Sale looked like he was on his way to yet another fine start, but then he hit a wall in the 5th inning. After allowing a Brett Lawrie single and hitting Jose Reyes with a pitch, he got Eury Perez to ground into a double play. It looked like he would escape the inning relatively unharmed, but Jose Bautista would not let that happen, crushing a 2-run shot to give the Jays a 3-0 lead. The next two batters, Edwin Encarnacion and Hayden Goldson respectively, followed with solo homers of their own, and just like that, Sale was out of the game before the 5th inning ended. The Jays would tack on another thanks to Brandon Hicks' first homer in a Jays uniform, a solo shot off righty Mike Pelfrey.

Dean Stradley, meanwhile, capped off his amazing June by tossing 7 innings of shutout baseball, giving up 6 hits and striking out 3 while not walking a single batter. Stradley evens his record at 7-7 with the victory he earned tonight. He was asked postgame about his resurgence.

"This really goes all the way back to last season. I noticed at the end of 2014, I was getting hit pretty hard. So, I made sure to work on 2 things in the offseason: conditioning and my pitching mechanics. It has taken me a little while to get my mechanics straightened out, what with my subpar spring and beginning of the season. However, I feel that everything has now clicked for me and I hope that I can continue this run I've been on."

Both runs scored by the White Sox tonight were allowed by struggling reliever Stephen Brooks, who was immediately sent down to Buffalo following tonight's game. Fellow right-hander Hunter Strickland, signed this offseason from the Giants on a minor league deal, will be called up to replace Brooks. Strickland has had a terrific time down in Buffalo, going 5-1 with an ERA well under 1.

I tested out something new, if this format is more well-liked I'll switch to using it full-time. Poll will be added for determining this.

So, uh, what exactly is the difference between the two formats? Because I don't really see anything other than being maybe slightly shorter

Seriously though, go back to the old format. It gives the rest of us a slight chance to have a decent looking log. This new format just isn't fair.

JK, this new one is siiiick. :D I really like it!!

All he added were the logos and a different font at the top. Not a huge difference. Not big enough that I really care either way
