Season 9, Game 1:

Boston Bruins at Los Angeles Angels

Bruins: 10
Angels: 3

The Bruins got the offense they needed to bounce back after falling behind by a couple runs early. The new arrival Jose Bautista was one of the highlights, as he hit a home run and drove in 3 runs, he also made an error on the first fly ball hit to him, but recovered to at least get an outfield assist on the play. Hamilton was moved to the leadoff spot as the team now lacks speed and he was struggling trying to crush home runs batting third.

Player of the Game: Jose Bautista

Hamilton: 3-4, R, BB, SB
Mauer: 1-5, R, RBI, K
Cano: 1-4, RBI, BB
Bautista: 3-4, HR, 3 R, 3 RBI, BB
Gonzalez: 1-5, R
Beltran: 1-4, R, RBI, BB
Howard: 1-5, 3 K
Chavez: 2-5, HR, R, 3 RBI, K
Ramirez: 2-5, 2 R

E: J.Bautista

D.Haren: 6 innings pitched, 12 hits, 3 runs, 4 strikeouts, win
J.Johnson: 1 inning pitched, 0 hits, 0 runs, 1 strikeout, hold
K.Hanson: 1 inning pitched, 0 hits, 0 runs, 0 strikeouts
S.Claussen: 1 inning pitched, 0 hits, 0 runs, 0 strikeouts

Win: Dan Haren (2-0)
Loss: C.J. Wilson (0-1)
HR: J.Bautista, E.Chavez

---

Clay Buchholz retired after the game.

A good career for him. IRL he just lost a no-hitter in the 8th.

So Buchholz just sits there watching the whole game, then when it's over he just walks up to the manager and says "by the way, I'm retiring now," and rides off into the sunset.

Classy.

Yep, players will do that. :P

Really any MLB player retires after 10 games on the active roster, so starting pitchers will often retire in the middle of the season without even playing.

---

In the oddest move in the Bruins history as a baseball dynasty, career bench player Arturo Ortiz has changed his name to Chris Kelly, the Bruins manager took notice of this and is immediately moving him into the lineup. Jose Bautista is now being sent to the reserve roster for and undetermined amount of time as Chris Kelly will be taking over Left Field, and he'll be hitting leadoff with his speed even though Hamilton just broke out of a slump by being moved there.

Nobody has the slightest clue what's going on in the manager's head right now.

---

I didn't notice he had any good potential before, since I started with him, but looking at him now, he has about mid 80s in power, as well as 99 speed, I put 10 million in training into him and he became a 93 overall just like that. With those two collections I finished at once after last season, I had 30 million to spend and wanted to find something to do with it.

I like to stay under 10 million so I don't accidentally bid 10 million on a card when I'm trying to bid 1 million, or similar things happening with different numbers.

Buster Posey
Ichiro Suzuki

Bergeron was a lowly 74 on activation, getting up to 78 after training.

Just one of those games where the game wants you to lose from the first pitch and isn't at all careful about trying to make things realistic. It forces the fielders to just stand and wait for the ball instead of charging it so they can score a run they shouldn't be able to, and if they make a baserunning mistake that would result in an easy out if you could make a quick throw, it forces your fielder to triple-clutch the ball and underhand a rainbow throw over.

Not to mention a hitter taking strike 3, 4, and 5 with 2 outs, but all of them called balls in an inning they would go on to add 4 runs after that.

They also somehow throw out a 99 speed, 99 baserunning ability runner stealing second with a big lead and fast jump on a terrible pitch to throw on. Of course, he wasn't actually out, just called out on a terrible call, and he would have definitely scored if the right call was made.

Season 10, Game 2:

San Diego Padres at Boston Bruins (0-1)

Padres: 7
Bruins: 10

The Bruins are having a serious problem with their starting pitchers recently, as this one gave up 7, and it was up to the offense and relief pitching to be great with their jobs to give the team the win.

Player of the Game: Dougie Hamilton

Kelly: 1-3, R, H, SB
Suzuki: 0-5, RBI, SB
Cano: 2-5, R, RBI
Cabrera: 1-2, 2 R, BB, K, HBP

J.Johnson: 1 inning pitched, 2 hits, 0 runs, 1 strikeout, hold
G.Balfour: 1 inning pitched, 1 hit, 0 runs, hold
P.Bergeron: 1 inning pitched, 1 hit, 0 runs, 2 strikeouts, save

Loss: Edinson Volquez (0-1)
Save: Patrice Bergeron (1)
HR: D.Hamilton (2), R.Howard (2), B.Phillips, L.Forsythe, C.Maybin

I'm getting kind of bored of this, but I still have so many 90+ players to use up. I think after this season, I'll start stacking up my bench and start using NL rules.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone else here play Diamond Dynasty at all? I wouldn't think so as I figured someone would have mentioned it before, but if anyone does and I wind up quitting with some money leftover, I might give a bit of it away.

I probably would play Diamond Dynasty if I had the Show, cooldude. It reminds me of Ultimate Team.
