The first, with the Bucks, sent big men DeJuan Blair and Bernard James to Milwaukee for center Miroslav Raduljica and 6'9" swingman Giannis Antetokounmpo. The second sent starting PG Jose Calderon and starting forward Shawn Marion to the Magic with a 2015 draft pick for Orlando's 2014 first-round pick.

Neither of those trades make any *(censored)* sense. Why would rebuilding teams make deals like that? Yes, of course the lowly Magic are going to trade their almost guaranteed top-5 pick for two veterans that make them marginally better. And of course the Bucks are going to trade one of their only bright spots for two mediocre role players.

POSTGAME NOTES
After the game, Simon Young said that he hopes to accomplish "big things" as Dallas' general manager.

To reward the win, Young gave all of his amateur scouts a new iPad, and also announced that the team had purchased a relaxation facility including fitness and massage aspects, to help players build stamina and lose fatigue.

Gal Mekel was added to the active roster, replacing fellow rookie guard Ricky Ledo. Ledo was assigned to the Texas Legends of the NBA Developmental League after recording one assist and going 0-for-2 from the field in two minutes against Atlanta.

Pete, Brett, Benjamin, and I went to the first game together. I whispered an alternate plan to Pete, and he agreed. The Mavs ended up winning, so Pete had to follow through on his end of the bet.

After the game, Brett and I went down to talk to the players. “Hi guys, good game. Brett here, and myself, are the new general managers of this team. If anyone has any problems with anything or anyone, feel free to arrange a meeting with us through our assistant, Rick Best. We’re looking to keep this team in a contending position, while also bringing in a youth movement of sorts. I like to call it ‘semi-rebuilding’.”

Brett started his remarks with a joke, “Obviously, the first step in the youth movement is to bring in a bunch of teenagers to run the team,” he said, drawing laughs from some of the elated players.

After that was over, we went down to our office, making calls around the league, not only to introduce ourselves, but also to talk potential trades and build trust with the other GMs. After that, we all went back to campus via bus.

The next morning, we had a basketball practice. Pete, as part of our plan, had to wear the Phineas and Ferb shirt and boxers to practice, and carry the stuffed animal around in his bag. Everyone got a good kick out of it, but we still had a good practice.

This log is being restarted (due to poor trading, basically traded the whole team for nothing). You can find part 2 here.
