I was down at Blacktop Court practicing my basketball game, when suddenly I heard my friend running on to the court almost out of breath. He told me that I had been selected to play in the NBA Rookie Showcase in NYC. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. This is what I had been waiting my whole life for, and it was a little less than three weeks away. I had to practice. There was no stopping me from taking storm in the NBA... |

Elites 96, Stars 71 14 Points 10 Assists 3 Rebounds 4 Steals 4/4 Free Throws 3 Dunks 5/7 FG 0/2 3PT FG --- After the game, Jackson Ellis who had 11 points, 5 assists, and 2 steals, admitted that that was not his best game. Jackson Ellis just couldn't be nice so he had to end the sentence with, "But we all know who the better player is, haha-ME". --- Later that day at my house, my agent and I had to talk a little bit about the draft. He had a few questions to ask me... 1. If you could play with any team, who what it be? The Los Angeles Lakers 2. What is the one thing that is most important to you in your NBA career? Pre-Draft Interview with the Charlotte Bobcats Assistant GM for the Bobcats: As a younger team we have a lot of opportunities for you. We think you could be the centerpiece of this organization. How many teams can offer you that? That being said since we are young we will struggle these next couple of years while we are still looking for some key assets. Will you be patient during these rebuilding years? Me: Yes sir, I am very patient. 2014 NBA Draft --- I have to say I was a little nervous, I was about to find out the next city I was about to spend the next few years of life in...Kind of surreal if you ask me. I was just hoping that son of a bitch Jackson Ellis was picked after me. Man I just hate him... --- 1st. Anthony Bennet (Cavaliers) 2nd. Victor Oladipo (Magic) 3rd. Otto Porter (Wizards) 4th. Cody Zeller (Bobcats) 5th. Alex Lin (Suns) --- Dammit I was really hoping for top 5... --- 6th. Nerlens Noel (Pelicans) 7th. Jackson Ellis got picked by the Jazz, and actually started over Trey Burke in his first game. He ended up with 15 points, 4 Rebounds, 10 assists, 1 steal, and shot the ball pretty well ending up with a .556 FG%. I have a lot of work to do if I want to end the season with the good 'ole rookie of the year award. |

October 30, 2013 It was my first game as a King and it looked like coach was going to have me ride the bench this game. --- Sacramento Kings v. Denver Nuggets --- We won 85-67 at our home court. Even though I kind of knew I was going to be sitting this game, I was still disappointed. Wasn't doing better than Jackson Ellis going to get me somewhere in the NBA? Apparently not... --- MVP goes to PG Isaiah Thomas. He had 19 points, 4 rebounds, 10 assists, and 2 steals. --- Of course the point guard got the MVP, now coach has his eyes on Thomas and not me... |

November 1, 2013 I had a good feeling, that I would get my first few minutes in the NBA this game...but as usual I was wrong. I am going to have a nice chat with coach tomorrow morning. --- Sacramento Kings v. L.A. Clippers --- We ended up getting our second win in a row at 96-91, the team proving that they can take care of business without me once again. The MVP went to the shooting guard Marcus Thornton recording 35 points for the team in this close one. --- And just to add to my awful day, after the game I became Travis Outlaw's honorary luggage carrier. |

November 2, 2013 Sacramento Kings v. Golden State Warriors --- We have started the season 3-0 by getting a win against the Warriors 96-80, and guess what! I got my debut. Sadly Isaiah Thomas had to get injured for me to get called in, but he is OK and will be back next game. --- James: 7 minutes, 8 Points, 1 Rebound, 0 Assists, 1 Steal, 1 Block, 0 Turnovers, 3/5 FG, 0/0 3PT FG, 2/2 Free Throws, 2 Dunks MVP: Rudy Gay had a total of 18 points, and had his fair share of boards tonight getting five rebounds. He also knocked down all 6 of his free throws. --- After the game coach told me that he liked what he saw from me in the fourth quarter, and that I am getting some playing time next game, injury or no injury. |
