MLBPPWORLD FANTASY SEMIFINAL ROUND 1 RECAP

Bellwind High Football Club (MUFFINZ) 153.5
The Jared Goff Lion Experience (Dishnet34) 117.5

Summary:
After a brutal stretch, the Bellwind juggernaut has awoken. Just a few weeks ago, the team could not crack the 100-point mark, but a return to full health has the team looking as good as ever. This week, Alvin Kamara returned to the lineup and made a major impact. Kamara scored 22 points- his best total since Week 7. However, the biggest performer was a late addition: Rashaad Penny. As Miles Sanders and Darrell Henderson did not play this week, Bellwind needed to find a late fill-in. Penny provided a huge spark, going off for 25.5 points. Additionally, Tom Brady has had some on-and-off performances as of late, but he came through this week by scoring 29. Chris Godwin was also a beneficiary of this, as he scored 15. Mark Andrews was also superb, scoring 22.5 points, which was impressive given Lamar Jackson's early-game injury. With a 36-point lead, Bellwind is in a prime position to make the championship in their rookie season, which would be a phenomenal accomplishment. They will likely just need to score around the 110-120 mark to be secure. The Jared Goff Lion Experience had a solid performance, but their opponent made it look worse than it was. They headed into the postseason on a torrid streak, but they cooled off a bit this week. Travis Kelce was the biggest disappointment, as the first-round pick scored just 3.5 points. Rob Gronkowski, another TE with high expectations, scored just 8.5. Josh Jacobs also regressed due to a poor game script, scoring just over 5 after two weeks of nearing the 20-point mark. More optimistically, Patrick Mahomes looked like his old self this week. He only scored 20, but he likely would have been passing more if Kansas City had a more difficult matchup. Also, Leonard Fournette and Cooper Kupp continued their pushes for pick of the fantasy draft- each scoring over 20. Down 36, it is not impossible to come back, but the Lion Experience will need to perform similarly to their Week 12/13 standard.

iPump Plastic (iPumpPlastic) 172.5
Los Angeles Aodgers (Kungfupandacam) 81.5

Summary:
iPump Plastic was absolutely dominant this week, and it looks like their championship appearance is a lock. Immediately, Dalvin Cook went off for 33.5 points, and from that moment the team did not look back. Tyler Lockett was excellent, scoring 24.5 points- his most since Week 2. However, the fireworks came on Monday Night. Matthew Stafford, Odell Beckham, and James Conner all shined. Conner was especially excellent, scoring 28. These performances offset a difficult game for Joe Mixon, who scored just 7 points. iPump Plastic clearly targeted a high-offensive matchup by starting four players from the same game, and it paid off in a big way. They could have done even better had they started Cleveland's defense over Carolina's defense, as doing so would have given them a net benefit of 12 points. Had this happened, they would have taken a 100-point advantage, which would have surely been insurmountable. Still, they will surely like to see a 90-point advantage heading into the second round. Los Angeles closed the season with a 5-game winning streak, but they were quite unfortunate this week. Numerous players were unable to play this week, which put them at a major disadvantage. In fact, their bench scored a combined zero points. Jemar Jefferson was a desperation play, but he scored no points. They also got a goose egg from Tyler Higbee, who was ruled out after Los Angeles could make any lineup changes. Darnell Mooney essentially gave them zero points as well, struggling despite a positive pass-heavy game script. Austin Ekeler also suffered a minor injury in the Chargers' win over New York, but Ekeler seems good to go for Thursday's game against Kansas City. Even still, a 90-point deficit will be a tough one to overcome, and basically requires a similar performance to the 185.5-point outing in Week 11.

Consolation Ladder Scores:
Team Griffith (jag123jg) 116.5
Atomic Pickles (AgentP) 131.5

Odd Year Magic (GoTwins24) 110
Detroit Phantoms (DTigers115) 103.5

Break the Walls Down (PhilliesFan134) 102
Smokin' Jay's Cig Squad (Queso James) 131.5

Best of luck to the four semifinalists in Week 15!

MLBPPWORLD SEMIFINAL ROUND 2 RECAP

Bellwind High Football Club (MUFFINZ) 238 (84.5)
The Jared Goff Lion Experience (Dishnet34) 263.5 (146)

Summary:
The league commissioner advanced to the championship for the second time in league history. Heading into the week, they faced an uphill battle after losing by 36 in the first round. As has been shown numerous times in league history, though, such a lead is not always safe. In fact, the Lion Experience became the favorite almost immediately in Round 2 after Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes combined for an astounding 65 points. The Lion Experience paid a high draft price for this duo, and it paid off in the most important game of the season so far. Players who played on Sunday were less impressive, as all of them failed to score over 11 points. Additionally, Leonard Fournette was ruled out for the season with an injury, which is a devastating blow to the Lion Experience. Melvin Gordon will be elevated to RB2, but he has seen much of his workload go to Javonte Williams, which will lower his upside. Heading into Tuesday, Cooper Kupp needed to outscore Rashaad Penny, and he did so in a big way. Kupp caught two touchdown passes in LA's win over Seattle, once again scoring over 25 points. If the Lion Experience wins the title, Cooper Kupp will be the league's fantasy MVP without much question. For Bellwind, Sunday night's Bucs-Saints game will be memorable for all the wrong reasons. Tom Brady, Alvin Kamara, and Chris Godwin combined for 10 points, which sunk Bellwind's hopes. If each had scored just 15, it would have been enough for them to win. Instead, they were eliminated despite their early advantage. Mark Andrews did all he could to salvage the game, scoring 30 points, but it was not enough to outdo Travis Kelce. Aside from Andrews, essentially every Bellwind starter underwhelmed, as no position player scored in double figures. Buffalo's defense was the only non-Andrews player to score over 10, but they scored just 11. It was a season of ups and downs for Bellwind, and injuries and inconsistency plagued what was a phenomenal start.

iPump Plastic (iPumpPlastic) 246 (73.5)
Los Angeles Aodgers (Kungfupandacam) 181.5 (100)

Summary:
iPump Plastic advanced to the championship, an impressive feat for a newcomer to the league. They built a major cushion by scoring over 170 last round, which allowed them a significant cushion for the second round. This week, they were quite underwhelming, as Matthew Stafford was their leading scorer with just 15 points. Numerous players, like Tyler Lockett and Adam Thielen, were ruled out this week, which capped their upside. However, their usual starters also disappointed. Dalvin Cook, Joe Mixon, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and James Conner have arguably been the league's best RB core, but none of them scored over 10 this week. Odell Beckham also underwhelmed, scoring under a point. For iPump Plastic, consistency will be key as they have had many on-and-off games. They benefitted from better matchup luck this week, but if the Jared Goff Lion Experience puts together two solid weeks, they cannot afford to have a disappointing performance like this one again. Fortunately for them, Lockett, Thielen, and potentially Elijah Moore can be started in Week 16, which will help re-establish some consistency. Despite the back-and-forth performances, it has been a phenomenal season for iPump Plastic, and they will look to secure a championship in their debut season. For Los Angeles, it was a highly disappointing finish. They ended the season with a torrid winning streak, but injuries and bye weeks set them back in the postseason. Their 100 points this week were better than last time, but they needed to repeat their Week 11 185.5-point performance if they wanted any chance of advancing. Justin Herbert and Austin Ekeler provided a solid start Thursday, but no one else really answered the call. Their bench was once again depleted, and only would have scored 25- and two of those bench spots were reserved for defenses. Michael Pittman was the biggest disappointment, as his ejection from Saturday night's game handcuffed Los Angeles' upside. Sunday was a rough day for all teams, and the Aodgers were no exception. None of their Sunday players scored over 11, as Dallas Goedert (who played Tuesday) was the only other player to score over 15. After their elimination, Los Angeles has to feel a bit devastated because of their injury situation. Had they been at full strength, it could have been a much different story.

Consolation Ladder Scores:
Atomic Pickles (AgentP) 231.5
Team Griffith (jag123jg) 268.5

Odd Year Magic (GoTwins24) 220.5
Detroit Phantoms (DTigers115) 215

Break the Walls Down (PhilliesFan134) 213.5
Smokin' Jay's Cig Squad (Queso James) 216

Best of luck to Dishnet34 and iPump Plastic in the championship round!

MLBPPWORLD FANTASY CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 1 RECAP

The Jared Goff Lion Experience (Dishnet34) 91.5
iPump Plastic (iPumpPlastic) 108

Summary:
iPump Plastic jumped out to a double-digit lead in the first round of the fantasy championship, mostly thanks to Joe Mixon. Mixon has been one of the best picks of the draft, and he continued to prove that by scoring 28 points. It was a nice recovery for him as he scored under 10 points last week, but he benefitted from Cincinnati's offensive explosion. On Christmas, Chase Edmonds also stepped up. Normally, James Conner has been a primary contributor for iPump Plastic, but with him out, Chase Edmonds scored over 20 points. One of the running themes of 2021 has been the importance of handcuffing running backs, which Edmonds showed this week. Aside from Edmonds and Mixon, the rest of the team struggled. Dalvin Cook was ruled out for the week, which limited the scoring potential for the best RB core in the league. Also, Matthew Stafford was atrocious despite a favorable matchup, scoring only 5 points. iPump Plastic also had a chance to jump out to a bigger lead Monday night, but Mike Gesicki continued to underwhelm. Despite these disappointments, iPump Plastic can be happy with its early advantage, but they will need to prevent another Lion Experience comeback. For the Lion Experience, Travis Kelce was ruled out prior to the matchup, which was a major blow. Kelce nearly single-handedly got them to the championship, and they struggled there without him. Also, Leonard Fournette was ruled out for the season, which was another blow. Their replacements, Rob Gronkowski and Melvin Gordon, were extremely disappointing, combining for just 3 points. This hamstrung the Lion Experience, especially since Van Jefferson scored under 1 point as well. The Lion Experience expressed disappointment in benching Rex Burkhead, who would have given them 27 more points. Patrick Mahomes led the team in scoring with 22, which was solid given the game was a blowout and he was missing his TE. For the next round, Travis Kelce will return, but the Lion Experience will need to figure out their second flex position to give themselves the best shot at a title. They overcame a 30-point deficit last time, so a 16.5-point deficit is not daunting.

Consolation Ladder Scores:
Bellwind High Football Club (MUFFINZ) 97
Los Angeles Aodgers (Kungfupandacam) 92.5

Odd Year Magic (GoTwins24) 122
Team Griffith (jag123jg) 122

Atomic Pickles (AgentP) 143
Smokin' Jay's Cig Squad (Queso James) 95

Break the Walls Down (PhilliesFan134) 113
Detroit Phantoms (DTigers115) 86.5

Best of luck to the two championship contenders in the final week of the season!

iPUMP PLASTIC WINS FIRST MLBPPWORLD FANTASY TITLE IN A CLOSE ONE, 207-200
iPump Plastic defeated The Jared Goff Lion Experience by seven points, clinching the title in their debut season. The championship MVP was Joe Mixon, who scored 28 points in the first round of the matchup. Without this performance, iPump Plastic would not likely have won the title. Mixon, unlike in previous years, finally found consistency and durability. This allowed him to be the MVP of the fantasy season. The team scored fewer points in the second round, but it was just enough to carry them over the top. Matthew Stafford led the team in scoring with 14 points, which was salvageable despite Stafford's late-season struggles. A key pickup, Dare Ogunbowale proved to be pivotal this week. He scored 13 points, and a key touchdown was what separated iPump Plastic from the Jared Goff Lion Experience. The Rams' defense was also key, as they too scored 13 points despite a relatively difficult matchup against the Ravens. Sunday Night would have been more stressful had iPump Plastic not already have clinched the title, as their first-round pick Dalvin Cook scored just 2.5 points without Kirk Cousins. Cook was a disappointment aside from his key performance in the first round of the playoffs, but selections like Joe Mixon, James Conner, and Chase Edmonds mitigated Cook's struggles. Overall, it was an impressive first season for iPump Plastic, who built a strong core around runningbacks that heated up in the postseason. The Jared Goff Lion Experience will always remember Antonio Brown's antics in the end-zone at the Meadowlands. They needed just seven more points to win a title, but Brown missed an entire quarter- one where Tampa Bay needed to throw the ball to overcome the deficit. Had Brown remained in the game, he could have scored the late touchdown that won the game for Tampa. Additionally, the Buccaneers' defense faced what should have been a dream fantasy playoff matchup against a weak opponent, but they managed to only score 3 points. Add Leonard Fournette's injury and the Lion Experience were hurt pretty significantly by Tampa Bay's late-season struggles, and they probably will not be rooting for them in the NFL postseason. The team's core of Patrick Mahomes, Josh Jacobs, Cooper Kupp, and Travis Kelce were each solid, but none of them played as Travis Kelce did in the second round of the semifinals. This type of performance would have been necessary to win the title, but the team fell just short. Despite this, the Jared Goff Lion Experience had a season to be proud of. They started off on a major win streak, to the point where the playoffs were never really in doubt. In 2022, they will look to make the postseason for the third straight year, which has not been accomplished since LGM's 4-season streak from 2016-2019.

Consolation Ladder Scores:
Bellwind High Football Club (MUFFINZ) 261
Los Angeles Aodgers (Kungfupandacam) 202.5

Odd Year Magic (GoTwins24) 243
Team Griffith (jag123jg) 238.5

Atomic Pickles (AgentP) 317.5
Smokin' Jay's Cig Squad (Queso James) 197.5

Break the Walls Down (PhilliesFan134) 237
Detroit Phantoms (DTigers115) 185

Final Standings:
1. iPump Plastic
2. The Jared Goff Lion Experience
3. Bellwind High Football Club
4. Los Angeles Aodgers
5. Odd Year Magic
6. Team Griffith
7. Atomic Pickles
8. Smokin' Jay's Cig Squad
9. Break the Walls Down
10. Detroit Phantoms

Best of luck in 2022!
