MLBPPWORLD FANTASY WEEK 11 RECAP

Odd Year Magic (GoTwins24) 89.5
Kerryon My Wayward Son (Dishnet34) 101

Summary:
Kerryon My Wayward Son saved their season with a crucial victory. They did not have any standout performers aside from Ezekiel Elliot and Todd Gurley, who each scored 17 points. The Rams appear to be focusing more on a power running style, which brightens Gurley's outlook going forward. Patrick Mahomes had his worst full game of the year, but it will still enough to give his team the win Monday night. Josh Jacobs and DJ Moore were solid, although more was expected from Jacobs in a favorable matchup. The biggest let-downs were Cooper Kupp and Mohamed Sanu. Kupp has scored just 6.5 points in the last two weeks, but this is mainly a result of Jared Goff's struggles. Sanu appears to be in a tough situation as New England's offense looks to be one of its worst incarnations in recent memory. It took some matchup luck to win, but Kerryon My Wayward Son remains in the playoff race. Odd Year Magic scored nearly 100 less points this week in their worst performance of the season. This was the first time they did not score over 100 points. This was mainly because Tyreek Hill left the game early Monday night and finished with no points. Additionally, Amari Cooper was shut down by Darius Slay, managing to score just 4.5 points. Raheem Mostert was added just in case David Montgomery could not play, and he underwhelmed miserably with just 3 points. Tom Brady was also poor, scoring just 8 points. He had less passing touchdowns than Julian Edelman despite nearly 50 passing attempts. Newly-acquired running back Mark Ingram did all he could to carry his team, scoring two receiving touchdowns, but it was not enough. Ultimately, the loss was due to Hill's injury and Derrick Henry's bye week. They now have two must-win games against division opponents to close out the season.

El Salvador Robbers (Baseballteen9500) 154
You've Been Juiced! (LGM77) 120

Summary:
The Robbers vaulted themselves into the thick of the playoff race with the shocking victory of the week. They were catapulted by John Brown, who scored a remarkable 29.5 points, his first double-digit outing since Week 7. Stefon Diggs also returned to form, scoring 20.5 points. Marvin Jones nearly hit the 20 point mark as well, finishing with 18. Jimmy Garoppolo has been a remarkable fantasy QB up to this point, and he took advantage of Arizona's weak secondary for 28 points. San Francisco's defense scored a later touchdown on a remarkably bad beat to add to the team's point total. The only poor outings came from Miles Sanders and Jack Doyle. Sanders scored just 4 points despite a good amount of volume. If Howard remains out, Sanders may finally break out. Jack Doyle was just a fill-in for George Kittle, whose health is a significant priority for the Robbers in these next two weeks. With a matchup against the struggling Atomic Pickles next week, the Robbers are in great position for the postseason. You've Been Juiced! suffered from an unlucky matchup for the second consecutive week. They have given up 338.5 points in those games. Christian McCaffrey was as dominant as usual, scoring 24.5 points. Even when Carolina's offense looks horrible, he still records astounding numbers. Derek Carr was a solid stream, although Kyler Murray outscored him by 7 points, which was unexpected due to their matchups. The Chargers trio of Henry-Allen-Ekeler were strong, but Melvin Gordon struggled. With LA on bye this week, they will have to be active on the waiver wire. Their biggest let-downs were Kenny Golladay, who had no points for a large portion of the day, and Minnesota's defense. You've Been Juiced! has some difficult matchups upcoming, so they will need to quickly rebound to avoid collapse.

Detroit Phantoms (DTigers115) 119.5
Team Griffith (Jag123jg) 98

Summary:
The Detroit Phantoms stole a playoff spot from Team Griffith with their performance of the season. They were captivated by Josh Allen, who went off for a season-high 33 points. Calvin Ridley also had his performance of the season, going off for 24 points. Randall Cobb benefitted from the silencing of Amari Cooper to score 19 points. These three performances were good enough to offset some disappointments, mainly James Conner, who scored only a-point-and-a-half in his return from injury against Cleveland. Tevin Coleman and Terry McLaurin have also not been able to follow up on some early season success, combining for just 14 points this week. Impressively though, the team won a crucial victory with both Chris Carson and Aaron Jones on bye, which sets them up nicely to maintain their playoff position. Team Griffith slid out of playoff position with a disheartening performance. DJ Chark did all he could to salvage a win, scoring 26.5 points. Matt Ryan was also as solid as usual, scoring 16 against Carolina. Le'Veon Bell put up his usual 15 points, but the inefficiency of Mike Evans let the team down. Whenever Mike Evans performs extremely well, Team Griffith usually wins. Damien Williams was also astoundingly absent from KC's gameplan, scoring less than a point. Gerald Everett also performed poorly, scoring just 2.5. The absences of Saquon Barkley, Evan Engram, Brandin Cooks, and DK Metcalf definitely played a role in this defeat, and their returns will improve Team Griffith's outlook for the final two weeks of the season. Still, falling out of the picture this late in the year is disheartening, but all hope is not lost yet.

Smokin' Jay's Cig Squad (Queso James) 111.5
Cool Brees (ZeroGibson13) 94.5

Summary:
Smokin' Jay's Cig Squad will be the only team in the league with 10 wins this season and have clinched the top overall playoff seed. They overcame a terrible 3-point game from Deshaun Watson thanks to great games from Michael Thomas (as usual), Travis Kelce, Michael Gallup, and Marlon Mack. Unfortunately, the latter will be out indefinitely due to a broken hand, which puts pressure on Devin Singletary to finally break out. Their total was lower as a result of Robert Woods's late scratch due to personal reasons. Yet, their victory was even more impressive due to the fact that Davante Adams was absent from the lineup again, this time due to a bye week. The injury to Marlon Mack complicates things, and they may have to sacrifice a receiver for another running back in case they are not content with a Lindsay-Singletary duo. Still, these next two games are completely meaningless for them, so they can relax until the playoffs begin in Week 14. Cool Brees lost their 8th game of the season despite strong performances from Drew Brees, Alvin Kamara, and Baltimore's defense. This was mainly due to the struggles of Tyler Boyd, Curtis Samuel, Eric Ebron, and Marquise Brown, who each scored under 5 points. If two of those performers had more respectable weeks, they may have pulled off an epic upset. Lamar Jackson remains on the team's bench, and it looks like Drew Brees will remain the starter for the remainder of the season. Cool Brees will look toward 2020 to return to the upper echelon of the league.

Los Angeles Aodgers (Kungfupandacam) 48
Atomic Pickles (AgentP) 107

Summary:
The Atomic Pickles finally snapped a dreadful losing streak. They had the biggest blowout of the week despite scoring less than 110 thanks to a favorable matchup. They were anchored once again by Dak Prescott, whose 30 points ensured a blowout win. Joe Mixon and Courtland Sutton had one of their better showings of the season, each scoring 15.5 points. Zach Ertz was also passable despite the lack of a touchdown with 13.5 points. Yet, many usually reliable players struggled-mainly Allen Robinson and Ronald Jones. Neither player scored over 3 points. Brian Hill also underperformed, scoring just 3 mere points despite being declared the top priority waiver claim of the week by many. Ultimately though, these performances are acceptable when facing the Adogers, and the Pickles finally tasted victory after 6 grueling weeks. The Aodgers lost once again as Dalvin Cook could not carry them. Cook scored only 13.5 points, which is one of his lowest totals of the year. This was mainly due to Minnesota trailing by a large margin for a large amount of the game. Of the others who actually played, only Carson Wentz scored over 10 points, but he only recorded 11. Emmanuel Sanders and James White were disappointing, scoring just 4.5 and 7 respectively. The Aodgers will most likely finish with the worst record in the league this season, and will hope to rebound in 2020.

MLBPPWORLD FANTASY WEEK 12 RECAP

Odd Year Magic (GoTwins24) 154
Team Griffith (jag123jg) 103

Summary:
Odd Year Magic won a crucial matchup to essentially secure a playoff spot. After a 4-week slump, Chris Godwin finally lived up to his WR1 status with a 33.5-point showing. Sam Darnold was one of the top streaming options of the week, outscoring the team's previous starter, Tom Brady, by 16 points. The RB duo of Mark Ingram and Derrick Henry has emerged as one of the best in the league as the pair combined for 50 points this week in their first matchup together. Odell Beckham also played well for the first time in over six weeks, scoring his second-highest point total of the season. It wasn't entirely positive for Odd Year Magic as Amari Cooper scored no points. Cooper has scored just 4.5 points in the last two weeks and is clearly dealing with a knee injury. If he and Tyreek Hill continue to struggle through injuries, it will be difficult for the team to have postseason success. Still, Odd Year Magic now has the chance to win their division for the first time ever. Team Griffith lost their third straight game and may now miss the postseason. Leonard Fournette gave his best effort of the season, but it was not enough. Matt Ryan struggled despite a favorable matchup, recording just 6 points before being sidelined. Saquon Barkley also struggled, scoring just six points. The #2 overall pick has been a letdown this year and has only scored over 20 points just once this year. Mike Evans took a backseat to Chris Godwin, which was especially devastating considering the opponent. DJ Chark also struggled despite Nick Foles's return, scoring only 7.5 points. The only strong performer besides Leonard Fournette was Pittsburgh's defense, who scored 17 points. In conclusion, it will take favorable results for Team Griffith to make their first postseason appearance, which is shocking after their 6-3 start.

Cool Brees (ZeroGibson13) 160
Detroit Phantoms (DTigers115) 107

Summary:
As predicted, Cool Brees played spoiler to a team's season with a massive 53-point victory. Their strongest performer was Jarvis Landry, who recorded a remarkable 31 points. Landry has emerged as Cleveland's #1 receiver in spite of the OBJ-trade. Nick Chubb was another Browns player who performed well, scoring 22.5 points. Additionally, the team's Saints duo of Brees and Kamara were solid, combining for 35.5 points. Marquise Brown had a throwback performance to the first few weeks of the season, scoring 18.5 points. Lastly, Will Fuller was strong in his return from injury despite not scoring a touchdown, finishing with 17.5 points. The team's bench also accounted for 72 points, with Lamar Jackson and Tyler Boyd leading the way. Cool Brees had a disappointing year, but they can be proud of their team's effort this week. The Detroit Phantoms now have a tough road ahead after the loss. They started off well Thursday thanks to Deandre Hopkins's 24 points, although TY Hilton failed to make an impact in his return from injury with a 2.5-point showing. Calvin Ridley was a strong performer with 18 points, but the RB-duo of Aaron Jones and Chris Carson had brutal performances, combining for just 10 points. Carson may have been surpassed by Rashaad Penny, which further complicates the RB position. If Jordan Howard or James Conner return from injury, their RB outlook will improve a bit, but Carson's struggles are definitely hurting the team. They now face a must-win game against Odd Year Magic.

You've Been Juiced! (LGM77) 78.5
Kerryon My Wayward Son (Dishnet34) 110

Summary:
Kerryon My Wayward Son won their second-consecutive upset and now appear to have a strong chance at a postseason berth. The late decision to stream Baker Mayfield over Jared Goff was tremendous, granting them an additional 19 points. DJ Moore was also a savior, going off for a season-high 27 points. These showings offset a passable 14-point performance from Ezekiel Elliot, as well as rough games from both Todd Gurley and Cooper Kupp. The decision to play Diontae Johnson over AJ Brown also could have been costly as it resulted in the loss of 20 points. The biggest letdown was Josh Jacobs, who unfathomably scored just 3.5 points against a weak Jets defense. If Jacobs continues to struggle, Kerryon My Wayward Son will have a difficult week ahead. Overall though, the return of Patrick Mahomes next week will certainly give Kerryon My Wayward Son a significant chance of victory, which may lead them to the postseason. You've Been Juiced! lost their third-straight game with their worst performance of the season. This was in spite of Christian McCaffrey, who once again went off for 28.5 points, his fifth-straight week over 20-points. Aside from him, Julian Edelman was the only player in double figures, but he only scored 13 points. Aaron Rodgers was a let-down once again, his third-straight disappointing performance. Noah Fant, Tyrell Williams, and Josh Gordon were awful, none of them scoring over three points. Fortunately for You've Been Juiced!, they were just fill-ins for the missing Chargers players and their returns will put the team in a better position. Still, Kenny Golladay's struggles are concerning, and it appears he will not perform up to expectations unless Matthew Stafford somehow returns to play again this season. Despite the losing streak, it is nearly impossible for You've Been Juiced! to miss the postseason due to their high point total.

Atomic Pickles (AgentP) 92
El Salvador Robbers (Baseballteen9500) 123

Summary:
The El Salvador Robbers notched their second win in a row thanks to a dominant performance from the 49ers. Jimmy Garroppolo, George Kittle, Deebo Samuel, the team's defense, and Chase McLaughlin all scored in double figures, which led the Robbers to a Sunday night walk-off. The reliance on the 49ers has paid off in the last few weeks, but their difficult matchup against the Ravens will make Week 13 a tough task for the Robbers. Miles Sanders and Carlos Hyde both struggled, scoring just 15.5 points between them. If Jordan Howard returns, Sanders's impact will be minimal, so the team will have to look for a wild card at the RB position. John Brown and Marvin Jones also failed to make an impact, but the return of Stefon Diggs will potentially take some of the pressure off them. If the Robbers can somehow upset the Cig Squad next week, they will pull off one of the greatest runs to the postseason in league history, making the postseason despite getting rid of every single player they drafted. The Atomic Pickles lost their seventh games in eight weeks. Allen Robinson finally performed up to expectations with a 22-point showing, and Zach Ertz did the same with 21 points. Despite these outings, they lost as a result of the struggles of Julio Jones and Tyler Lockett, who combined for just 12 points. Dak Prescott normally carries the team, but he could not do so this week with just six points. If he had performed as well as usual, they may have made it much closer. The defending champions will look to 2020 to return to the competitive Parthenon.

Los Angeles Aodgers (Kungfupandacam) 18
Smokin' Jay's Cig Squad (Queso James) 98.5

Summary:
Smokin' Jay's Cig Squad won their 11th game of the year due to a favorable matchup against the league's worst team. The only notable performances came from Michael Thomas and Robby Anderson, who combined for 37 points. Surprisingly, Davante Adams performed well despite Green Bay's horrific offensive showing, scoring a solid 15.5 points. Their point total was lower than usual due to Russell Wilson and Phillip Lindsay's struggles, the pair combining for just 15.5 points. Jacksonville's defense also lost them a point. They have been underwhelming since Week 8, so the team may look to the free-agent market for stronger options. Austin Hooper's injury is also a concern, but the return of Travis Kelce will allow them to solidify their TE position. The team could have afforded a few less-than-stellar outings in the final two weeks, and their focus will be on perfecting their roster for the postseason. The Aodgers started just five active players, and they all were horrific. Carson Wentz was the team's leader with 8 points, but James White and Emmanuel Sanders were even worse, both scoring less than two points. The Aodgers will have a near-full complement of players next week, so they may be able to pull off their third win of the season.

MLBPPWORLD FANTASY WEEK 13 RECAP

Odd Year Magic (GoTwins24) 81
Detroit Phantoms (DTigers115) 123.5

Summary:
The Detroit Phantoms clinched a playoff spot on the final day of the season for the second consecutive year. They were anchored by Devante Parker’s breakout performance, which was extremely crucial in ensuring a comfortable victory. They started off well Thursday night, with Josh Allen and Calvin Ridley combining for 36 points. However, aside from Parker, the noon window caused some worry as Aaron Jones and Tevin Coleman combined for a mere 4.5 points. Fortunately for them, the later windows were much more inspiring, with solid performances from Darren Waller and DeAndre Hopkins. Heading into Monday night, the team needed just two points from Chris Carson to pass Kerryon My Wayward Son in the tiebreaker, but Carson nearly suffered an injury. Luckily for the Phantoms, Carson returned to the game and put forth a 16.5-point outing, officially securing a postseason position. The Phantoms overcame an 0-3 start to make an impressive postseason run. Odd Year Magic had their worst effort of the year after one of their best, scoring a mere 81 points. They got off to a rocky start Thursday when kicker Brett Maher lost them a point. There is a major question mark with the team’s kicking situation as Maher may be released by Dallas at some point if his struggles continue. Amari Cooper was better than the last two weeks, but he still did not reach the 15-point mark. The main letdowns were the entire receiving core- Odell Beckham, Tyreek Hill, and Chris Godwin failed to make an impact. Sam Darnold also struggled despite a good matchup, scoring just 9. Derrick Henry has been the only major consistency in the team’s lineup the past few weeks, and the rest of the team will need to reach his standard. Still, Odd Year Magic lived up to their name by clinching their third postseason berth in five years.

Atomic Pickles (AgentP) 98.5
Kerryon My Wayward Son (Dishnet34) 129

Summary:
Despite running the table after a 4-5 start, Kerryon My Wayward Son will not make a postseason appearance this year. The decision to start AJ Brown over Adrian Peterson ultimately lead to their defeat, as playing Peterson would have put more pressure on the Phantoms. Somehow, Patrick Mahomes’s return also cost the team points as Jared Goff outscored him by five points this week. Their win was largely due to LA’s offensive success, with Todd Gurley and Cooper Kupp impressing. Additionally, Ezekiel Elliot was as productive as usual, scoring 16.5 points. The Saints defense was also a strong play, providing the team with 18 points. Ultimately, the weakness at TE cost the team a playoff spot, as Greg Olsen left the game with an injury. If Olsen had been fully healthy this year, he may have been a better TE1 option. Luckily for Kerryon My Wayward Son, they still possess a legitimate chance to win the NFL Picks Contest. The defending champion fell to an extremely disappointing 4-9, finishing 1-8 in their last nine games. A lot of this disappointment can be attributed to poor matchup luck, but players such as Zach Ertz and Juju Smith-Schuster have been major underperformers in 2019. Pair this with the fact that Tyler Lockett and Ronald Jones each scored zero points and you have a recipe for disappointment. The bright-spots were Allen Robinson, Courtland Sutton, and Dak Prescott, who have mostly performed considerably well for the Pickles this season. Joe Mixon also rebounded from a horrific start to the year. The Pickles ultimately could not put everything together and will not be able to defend their title as a result.

Cool Brees (ZeroGibson13) 91
Los Angeles Aodgers (Kungfupandacam) 107.5

Summary:
Although it seemed as if the Aodgers would never win again, they found a way to pull off their third victory of the season. This was mainly a result of James White’s dominant performance. White scored 32 points after not even scoring one the previous week. Carson Wentz also finally returned to form, scoring 24. These stellar showings offset zero point efforts from injured players Trey Burton and Adam Thielen, as well as another poor game from David Johnson. They could have even scored more had they played Alshon Jeffery, but they will definitely be pleased with a late season victory. It was a shocking loss for Cool Brees who had their best week of the season last week. Drew Brees and Alvin Kamara got off to a poor start Thursday night, scoring just 21 points between the pair. Additionally, Nick Chubb and Jarvis Landry were held in check by Pittsburgh’s defense this time. The biggest letdown was Will Fuller, who followed up a strong week by not even reaching the 1-point mark. Their output was much better than it could have been due to Will Lutz’s incredible 17-point showing. The Saints settling for field goals explains the team’s struggles as Brees and Kamara could not find the endzone. It was a shockingly disappointing year for Cool Brees, but they now have a chance to prepare for a return to the upper echelon in 2020.

Team Griffith (jag123jg) 103.5
You've Been Juiced! (LGM77) 134.5

Summary:
It was a much-needed return to form for You’ve Been Juiced!, who clinched yet another division crown. This was done despite a poor performance from Christian McCaffrey, who scored just 12.5 points, his second-lowest total of the year. Kenny Golladay offset this with a stunning 75-yard touchdown on Thanksgiving, finishing with 23 points. Julian Edelman was also better, scoring 19 despite New England’s brutal loss. The return of the Chargers to the lineup paid immediate dividends as Austin Ekeler was solid, although Hunter Henry was uncharacteristically ineffective with just two points. After a brutal game last week, Aaron Rodgers rebounded with a 27-point showing, his highest since his legendary 43-point game against Oakland. Dede Westbrook was also a solid play, putting up 16.5 points. They could have scored even more had Philadelphia’s defense not played horrifically against Miami, but they will certainly be satisfied with a 31-point win. They will now face division rival Odd Year Magic in the postseason. Team Griffith lost out, finishing 6-7 after a 6-3 start. Many factors are behind this, but the main one is an injury to Saquon Barkley, which has caused him to be ineffective all season. Mike Evans has also been remarkably inconsistent, scoring just five points this week. DJ Chark has been poor in the past two weeks as well, scoring just five this week. The running back situation is bolstered by Leonard Fournette’s solid play, but the struggles of Jonathan Williams and Le’Veon Bell this week cost Team Griffith a chance at victory. Jack Doyle could have potentially been the stream of the week, but the other players in the lineup could not follow his lead. Doyle and Matt Ryan were tied for leading scorer with just 16 points. The ending to the season will be a tough pill to swallow for Team Griffith, who once seemed to be a lock for the postseason.

El Salvador Robbers (Baseballteen9500) 84
Smokin' Jay's Cig Squad (Queso James) 113.5

Summary:
The Cig Squad are now just the second team in league history to finish 12-1. They may have been helped by a weak division, but they were remarkably consistent every week. Davante Adams was the standout, rebounding from some tough outings with a 21-point showing. Devin Singletary has been one of the pickups of the season, filling in well for Marlon Mack. Even if Mack returns this week, Singletary will still be a valuable lineup addition. Surprisingly, the team won handedly despite Michael Thomas’s 7-point showing. Usually, Thomas is the team’s anchor, but other players stepped up this week. They still have an interesting dynamic at the QB position with both Deshaun Watson and Russell Wilson. Watson outscored Wilson by a considerable amount despite a worse matchup, so it will be interesting to see who starts going forward. The Cig Squad will face the Detroit Phantoms in the semifinal, who is the only team to beat them in the 2019 season. The El Salvador Robbers would have clinched a postseason appearance with a victory, but they could not perform at a similar level to the last two weeks. This was expected as San Francisco faced the best team in the league in the Baltimore Ravens, and the team’s scoring output was limited as a result. Deebo Samuel was the only 9er to score over 10 points, but he only finished with 13. Jimmy Garoppolo, George Kittle, and the team defense were all disappointing. Miles Sanders did all he could to reward his team for acquiring him with 18.5 points, but Carlos Hyde and Stefon Diggs also struggled. If the duo had breakout performances, the Robbers would have pulled off a Monday Night miracle to make the postseason. Instead, they finish as the sixth overall seed and will now look towards 2020.

Final Standings:

You’ve Been Juiced! 8-5

MLBPPWORLD FANTASY SEMIFINAL LEG 1 RECAP:

Odd Year Magic (GoTwins24) 118
You've Been Juiced! (LGM77) 107

Summary:
After a somewhat difficult stretch in which they won only one of three games, Odd Year Magic returned to form, gaining an 11-point edge after the first round. They were catalyzed by their workhorse running back, Derrick Henry, who scored over 20 points for the fifth week in a row. Henry emerged as a league-winner late last year, and it appears he is doing the same this season. Fantastically, he is performing this well despite a nagging hamstring injury. Also, Amari Cooper performed to his usual standard, although he put up most of his points in garbage time. Sam Darnold recovered a bit from a poor performance, but he has certainly had better performances this season. Darnold faces a tougher schedule headed forward, which further questions the team's QB situation. Mark Andrews is normally a strong performer, but he left his contest early with a knee injury. Luckily for Odd Year Magic, the injury is not serious, but his status for Thursday's game is in doubt. As usual, Odell Beckham Jr. was horrendous, recording just 4 points. With the recent development that he is playing through a hernia and unhappy in Cleveland, it seems as if he may never score in double digits again. This creates an interesting dynamic as Anthony Miller and Darius Slayton have been better options off the bench, but is Odd Year Magic willing to bench their first-round pick? Despite their top pick's struggles, the team is in a promising spot to return to the championship. You've Been Juiced! missed a major opportunity to play from ahead in the second round. Their biggest mistakes involved Los Angeles Chargers duo Austin Ekeler and Hunter Henry, who would have outscored Benny Snell and Vance McDonald by 37.5 points. Although this stream did not work out, starting Zach Pascal was a brilliant move, resulting in 17.5 points. The stalwarts of Christian McCaffrey, Melvin Gordon, and Julian Edelman were as consistent as ever, each scoring just below 20 points. Kenny Golladay has also found a bit of consistency in the past two weeks, which solidifies the team at wide receiver. If Chrsitian McCaffrey is able to have just one more dominant performance, You've Been Juiced! may be able to succeed in their quest for a title. Aaron Rodgers was a let-down, scoring just 10 points. He has a difficult matchup against Chicago next week, who will benefit from the return of Akiem Hicks. Rodgers scored just 12 against Chicago in the season opener, so You've Been Juiced! may seek alternative options at QB. Still, an 11-point deficit is not insurmountable, but they will need a season-defining performance in Week 15.

Detroit Phantoms (DTigers115) 129
Smokin' Jay's Cig Squad (Queso James) 113

Summary:
The Detroit Phantoms supported their reputation as one of the scariest teams in the league, outscoring the vaunted Cig Squad for the second time this season. The stream of Ryan Tannehill was one of the plays of the week, earning the Phantoms 26 key points. If they had stuck with Josh Allen, they would have actually been outscored this week. Aaron Jones and DeAndre Hopkins were phenomenal, combining for 49.5 points. If the pairing is able to establish greater consistency, the Phantoms will be even scarier. Calvin Ridley scored 15.5 points in what ended up being his last hurrah as he will miss the remainder of the season with an injury. The injury bug has hit the Phantoms incredibly hard, as DeVante Parker was also injured early in his game. If Parker misses extended time, the Phantoms will have a remarkable 6 players down with injuries. Luckily for them, they are excellent at streaming. The win was soured a bit by these injuries as well as Golden Tate's Monday night dud. If Tate was the primary target instead of Darius Slayton, the Phantoms would have gained an enormous cushion and much more leeway to deal with their contagious injuries. Instead, they will have to strike gold on the waiver wire again. It was a game of "what-ifs" for the Cig Squad, who left exactly 100 points on their bench. It was an unfortunate and unexpected performance from the 12-1 squad, with Russell Wilson and Davante Adams as the biggest disappointments. The pair combined for just 15 points. Additionally, if Deshuan Watson started over Wilson, the Cig Squad would've outscored the Phantoms. Michael Thomas was the only 20+ point performer, dominating as usual. The duo of Phillip Lindsay and Devin Singletary were solid as well, combining for 25 points. The most interesting decision facing the Cig Squad is if they will break away from their standard 2-TE lineup to incorporate either Robby Anderson or Robert Woods. Additionally, they have a question mark on defense with the Jets facing a dynamic Ravens offense on Thursday, so they will be in the market for defensive options. Ultimately, a 16-point deficit is not ideal, but it could have been much better had the Phantoms stayed entirely healthy. The second leg will be an interesting follow.

Consolation Ladder Scores:

El Salvador Robbers (Baseballteen9500) 93.5
Kerryon My Wayward Son (Dishnet34) 100.5

Cool Brees (ZeroGibson) 112.5
Team Griffith (Jag123jg) 96

Los Angeles Aodgers (Kungfupandacam) 110
Atomic Pickles (AgentP) 117

Best of the luck to the semifinalists in the second leg!

MLBPPWORLD FANTASY SEMIFINAL LEG 2 RECAP

Odd Year Magic (GoTwins24) 134 (252)
You've Been Juiced! (LGM77) 85.5 (192.5)

Summary:
Heading into the final half of the semifinal matchup, it was unclear whether Odd Year Magic or You've Been Juiced! had the advantage. While Odd Year Magic carried an 11-point lead, both teams were capable of a high-scoring performance any week this year. This time, it was Odd Year Magic who came away with a dominant victory. They got off to a red-hot start Thursday night as Mark Andrews and Mark Ingram combined for 35.5 points. With their existing cushion, this was too difficult for You've Been Juiced! to overcome. The noon window was also strong for Odd Year Magic thanks to great performances from Tyreek Hill and Chris Godwin. However, the win was somewhat spoiled as Chris Godwin, arguably the best value pick of the season, suffered a hamstring injury and will most likely miss the remainder of the season. The team possesses a plethora of intriguing options to replace him- with Terry McLaurin, Anthony Miller, and Darius Slayton available as potential replacements. It will also be interesting to see if the team remains patient with Odell Beckham Jr. and Amari Cooper, who have both been considerably underwhelming in the second half of the season. Additionally, the team still has a question mark at the QB position, and they may resort to starting the highly-volatile Mitchell Trubisky in the first leg of the championship game. Still, despite these questions, Odd Year Magic comfortably reached their third championship game in the past five seasons, the most in the league in that span. You've Been Juiced! failed to capitalize on a 32-point performance from Christian McCaffrey and saw themselves eliminated from the playoffs in the fourth-consecutive season. Although they were hit with tough matchup luck, some brutal performances put the nail in the coffin. The Chargers duo of Melvin Gordon and Hunter Henry failed to live up to their Week 14 form, combining for a mere 4.5 points. Julian Edelman and Kenny Golladay were also awful, amassing just 6.5 points. If two or three of these players followed McCaffrey's lead, You've Been Juiced! could have pulled off an excellent comeback. It was a tough week all around, as no benched players would have outscored their starting counterparts. It could have been a case of poor matchup luck, but You've Been Juiced! ultimately could not find a complementary piece to Christian McCaffrey. They will have to look to 2020 to end their playoff futility.

Detroit Phantoms (DTigers115) 144.5 (273.5)
Smokin' Jay's Cig Squad (Queso James) 121.5 (234.5)

Summary:
After an 0-3 start to the year, the Detroit Phantoms have advanced to the MLBPPWorld Fantasy championship. This can be largely attributed to the resurgences of Chris Carson and DeAndre Hopkins. The dynamic pair combined for 39.5 points this week, and Rashaad Penny's injury makes it seem as if the former's performance will be at the same level throughout the season. The additions of Ryan Tannehill and DeVante Parker were especially savvy, as the pair each surpassed the 20-point mark. These break-outs helped to solidify the Phantoms' QB and WR situations after injuries to Matthew Stafford and TY Hilton put them in doubt. Aaron Jones has been hit-or-miss, but when he hits, he is astounding. He scored 17 points this week despite a tough matchup against Chicago. The return of James Conner helped solidify the lineup as he scored 12 points against a solid Buffalo defense. Even with injuries to Jordan Howard and TY Hilton keeping this team from reaching full strength, they arguably possess the most well-rounded roster in the league this season and definitely deserve a spot in the championship round. Their 0-3 start proved to be an anomaly as great roster moves offset some injury concerns and poor performances. They will face Odd Year Magic in the championship, whom they have defeated twice this season, each victory by a significant margin. The Cig Squad saw their magical run come to an end with an upset loss. The Phantoms defeated them earlier in the season, so they were certainly not looking ahead, but they were definitely not expecting to loss by this significant of a margin. Michael Thomas did all he could to provide an all-time Monday Night miracle, but the Cig Squad was sunk by poor RB play. Devin Singletary and Phillip Lindsay each underperformed, combining for just 10 points. Additionally, Michael Gallup and Robert Woods were huge disappointments in a game that featured many touchdowns. The pair totaled just 3.5 points, although no one on the bench could have really offset these letdowns. Davante Adams and Travis Kelce were storng performers, each nearly scoring 20 points. Thomas, Kelce, and Adams provided a strong core that carried the Cig Squad to many consistent victories, but the team did not have a core in place to supplement them for 140+ point performances. This was the team's first postseason appearance, and they will look to make it consecutive appearances in 2020.

Consolation Ladder Scores:

El Salvador Robbers (Baseballteen9500) 118 (211.5)
Kerryon My Wayward Son (Dishnet34) 164 (264.5)

Cool Brees (ZeroGibson13) 112.5 (225)
Team Griffith (Jag123jg) 117.5 (213.5)

Los Angeles Aodgers (Kungfupandacam) 49.5 (159.5)
Atomic Pickles (AgentP) 168.5 (285.5)

Best of luck to the two championship teams! Feel free to comment your predictions!

MLBPPWORLD FANTASY CHAMPIONSHIP LEG 1 RECAP:

Odd Year Magic (GoTwins24) 107.5
Detroit Phantoms (DTigers115) 107

Summary:
Odd Year Magic barely edged out the Detroit Phantoms to have a half-point advantage heading into the final round of the championship, although the game was basically a tie. They were hit with tough news early Sunday as Derrick Henry was ruled out against New Orleans. Henry has carried the team this season, and his absence had the potential to derail things for Odd Year Magic. However, the pickup of DeAndre Washington proved to be crucial as he scored 17 points. Although, Anthony Miller was placed in the lineup, and he failed miserably with less than a point. Mark Andrews has been one of the best waiver pickups of the season, carrying his team with 24 points. The stream of Mitchell Trubisky was a costly move, as Tom Brady doubled his point total in a more difficult matchup. Amari Cooper was also awful, scoring a mere 4 points in yet another clunker. Despite carrying a slight advantage, Odd Year Magic will be disappointed after poor performances from several key players. The Phantoms headed into Monday night's game down 26.5 points with just Aaron Jones left to play, but Jones willed his team back in the game with an incredible 26-point outing, capped by a 56-yard touchdown. Jones has been stellar but inconsistent this year, and just one more performance like this will cement him as a fantasy hero. Despite being outscored by Ryan Fitzpatrick, Ryan Tannehill was still strong with 22 points. Fitzpatrick's #1 weapon DeVante Parker was as strong as usual, recording 19.5 points. It could have been a much stronger performance from the Phantoms, but their remaining starters struggled to make an impact. DeAndre Hopkins, Darren Waller, TY Hilton, James Conner, and Chris Carson all struggled. The latter two left their games with injuries, and Carson was ruled out for the entire season. Jordan Howard is scheduled to return next week, but his impact will be questionable due to the emergence of Miles Sanders. They could also turn to Tevin Coleman, but he has also been reduced to a limited role with Raheem Mostert's emergence. They could also turn to the waiver wire, but options are quite limited. These two teams are evenly matched, and the championship will come down to the last week.

Consolation Ladder Scores:

You've Been Juiced! (LGM77) 149.5
Smokin' Jay's Cig Squad (Queso James) 106

Cool Brees (ZeroGibson13) 137
Kerryon My Wayward Son (Dishnet34) 98

Atomic Pickles (AgentP) 103.5
El Salvador Robbers (Baseballteen9500) 117.5

Los Angeles Aodgers (Kungfupandacam) 90.5
Team Griffith (Jag123jg) 109.5

Best of luck to the two teams fighting for the championship in Week 17!

ODD YEAR MAGIC LIVES UP TO NAME, WINS 2019 MLBPPWORLD FANTASY CHAMPIONSHIP WITH A 240.5-223 VICTORY

Derrick Henry's 53-yard touchdown clinches the 2019 MLBPPWORLD championship in dramatic fashion.
Summary:
After a horrific 2018 season in which they finished second-to-last, Odd Year Magic has claimed the 2019 MLBPPWORLD fantasy championship. With this title, they became the first multiple-time champion in league history. Their last title came in 2015, but they also finished runner-up in 2017. Clearly, odd years have been much kinder to the team, and this year proved no exception. Although they came in as favorites, they dug themselves into a 25-point hole early in the afternoon window. This was mainly due to the injury to Anthony Miller and the struggles of New England's defense and Tyreek Hill. Derrick Henry, DeAndre Washington, and Tyler Higbee each failed to make a major impact in the first half of their games, but that changed drastically in the second half. Washington finished with 16 and Higbee recorded 18, each putting together strong championship rounds. Derrick Henry made a legendary impact in the second half, eventually finishing with 211 yards and 3 touchdowns, finishing as the league's best rusher. His dramatic touchdown late in the game against Houston sealed Odd Year Magic's second title. The unsung hero was Odell Beckham Jr., who despite failing to live up to his first round draft status, recorded a pivotal 15.5-point showing. It was a nice end to a miserable season for Beckham, who will most likely fall in the 2020 draft. Ultimately, Odd Year Magic survived injuries to Chris Godwin, Terry McLaurin, Mark Andrews, and Mark Ingram to win an incredible victory. It was a tough pill to swallow for the Detroit Phantoms, who appeared to have the game all but locked up at halftime of the afternoon games. The injury to Chris Carson was the blow that ended their season, as his replacement, Jordan Howard, did not record a single point in limited action. The alternative would have been Tevin Coleman, who only recorded 1.5 points. Additionally, the absence of DeAndre Hopkins was a major blow, as his replacements in Greg Ward and TY Hilton failed to make major impacts. Kai Forbath ended up being the team's leading scorer with an incredible 20-point showing, nearly willing his team to a win. DeVante Parker was also great once again despite facing Stephon Gillmore, recording 17 points. Ryan Tannehill and Aaron Jones proved to be one of the best QB-RB duos in the league this season, and they combined for a solid 32 points this week. If the Phantoms were able to play a solid RB2 this week, they may have won the championship. Instead, they will look to 2020 to win their first league championship.

Consolation Ladder Scores:
You've Been Juiced! (LGM77) 118 (267.5)
Smokin' Jay's Cig Squad (Queso James) 137 (243)

Cool Brees (ZeroGibson13) 110.5 (247.5)
Kerryon My Wayward Son (Dishnet34) 115.5 (213.5)

Atomic Pickles (AgentP) 137.5 (241)
El Salvador Robbers (BaseballTeen9500) 104.5 (222)

Los Angeles Aodgers (Kungfupandacam) 51 (141.5)
Team Griffith (jag123jg) 126.5 (236)

FINAL STANDINGS:
1. Odd Year Magic
2. Detroit Phantoms
3. You've Been Juiced!
4. Smokin' Jay's Cig Squad
5. Cool Brees
6. Kerryon My Wayward Son
7. Atomic Pickles
8. El Salvador Robbers
9. Team Griffith
10. Los Angeles Aodgers

Best of luck in the new decade!
