Carson City -- It has just been announced that Nevada will be getting their third FBS football team this season, as the newly established university, Nevada State Penitentiary will move to the FBS for their first year in existence. People have no idea how this year will go with a team full of freshman. The Crusaders will play in the Mountain West conference, taking the spot of University of Wyoming who will drop to the FCS after years of failure in the FBS. The team named their head coach last week, a fellow by the name of Busters Brownce. It seems like he is an odd fellow, but the athletic director at NSU-Penitentiary, Takitothu' Limit believes Brownce has the capability of coaching at this level and getting to the players on the roster. The schedule for the 2013 season was also recently announced and it is listed below. Week 1 - Bye Week 2 - vs. UTEP Week 3 - vs. New Mexico Week 4 - @ Colorado State Week 5 - @ Western Kentucky Week 6 - Bye Week 7 - @ Nevada Week 8 - vs. Rutgers Week 9 - vs. Boise State Week 10 - @ UNLV Week 11 - vs. San Diego State Week 12 - @ Utah State Week 13 - vs. Hawaii Week 14 - @ Fresno State According to an interview we took with Busters Brownce, this team has the ability to go 12-0 and can't be stopped by anyone on the schedule. This team will be led by sophomore QB T.J. Juckson. Juckson has great speed and will be a dual threat but will mainly be using his legs to pick up yards for the team. The Crusaders have four different high-impact freshman running backs who will compete for the job this season. Ozamataz Buckshank, Swirvithan L'Goodling Splatt, Fudge, and D'Isiah T. Billings-Clyde all hope to have monster seasons in hopes of winning the job. Other high-impact players on the team include fullback Huka'lakanaka Hakanakaheekalucka'hukahakafaka, CB D'Jasper Probincrux III, RT Vagonius Thicket-Suede, and K Dan Smith. The team is looking forward to a great season, and hopefully the beginning of a dynasty. |

"The team didn't come out at its greatest in the first quarter, but after we gave up that first touchdown in the second quarter, the team came out rolling. T.J. started looking a lot better throwing-wise, and Swirvithan looked good when he got the call. T.J. definitely favored Jackmerius out there this week so he needs to start trusting his other targets like Beezer Twelve and D'Squarius a little more, but other than that he definitely played well. We might try to scale him back a bit on using his legs because he got hit pretty hard out there today and we don't wanna see him go down like Ozamataz did. And yeah, Buckshank strained his shoulder, so he'll be out three or four weeks, but I'm confident Swirvithan will be a more than serviceable replacement while Ozzie is out." Passing T.J. Week 3 New Mexico Lobos (1-0) @ NSUP Crusaders (1-0) 1st Quarter 2-yard TD run by Swirvithan L'Goodling-Splatt 0-7 2nd Quarter 2-yard TD run by Swirvithan L'Goodling-Splatt 0-13 5-yard TD reception by Kasey Carrier from Cole Gautsche 7-13 77-yard TD reception by Swirvithan L'Goodling-Splatt from T.J. "The team overall played very well in tonight's game. We played well, our run game looked good again tonight, but we just haven't been able to get that pass game going. Juckson threw two picks tonight and I think he is better than that and he knows he is too. He ran really well again tonight going for 59 yards and he is very explosive with his legs. Swirvithan looked absolutely terrific tonight going 16 times for over 100 yards and three TD's. Not to mention what he did receiving, catching five passes for 109 yards and another TD. Any time you get 200 all purpose yards and four TD's you're doing something right. Sadly, T.J. only completed passes to Swirvithan, Beezer Twelve, and Jackmerius tonight, he targeted Hingle and D'Squarius but those fools dropped the passes and it looks like Juckson may be losing confidence in his ability to throw the ball especially after the two picks. Mergatroid was great again on D getting two more sacks and I'm proud of the way he is leading the defense. I'm ready for us to stick it to Colorado State next week. Passing T.J. Week 4 NSU-Penitentiary (2-0) @ Colorado State (3-0) 1st Quarter 2-yard TD run by T.J. Juckson 7-0 5-yard TD run by Swirvithan L'Goodling-Splatt 14-0 2nd Quarter 8-yard TD reception by Joe Hansley from Conner Smith 14-7 9-yard TD reception by Chris Nwoke from Conner Smith 14-14 3rd Quarter 8-yard TD run by Swirvithan L'Goodling-Splatt 21-14 11-yard TD reception by Jackmerius Tacktheritrix from Ibrahim Moizoos 28-14 102-yard kickoff return TD by Thomas Coffman 28-21 4th Quarter 23-yard field goal by Dan Smith 31-21 Interview with head coach, Busters Brownce. "I'm really proud of the way we came out on the road and got a w tonight. The team meshed very well, however, the passing game still isn't where I'd like it to be. The offensive line hasn't done great protecting T.J. either however which is causing some of the failure here. T.J. dislocated his finger back there in the third quarter but we were able to fix him up and send him back out there after Ibrahim played for a few plays. And don't get me wrong, Moizoos played well, he threw two passes and completed one for an 11-yard touchdown so he looked good. T.J. ran the ball really well again going 15 times for 100 yards and a TD tonight but that's how he got hurt so we're gonna have to limit his run game a bit and count more on Swirvithan who looked worse than normal tonight, although we played a team with a good defense. Of course he tallied on another two TD's so he's up to like seven or eight on the season already which is great. T.J. really relied on Jackmerius again tonight but hooked up with him a lot more, hooking up eight times for almost 100 yards. McCringleberry also caught three passes tonight so that was good. Our defense wasn't great tonight but it held these guys pretty well and we held our ground with our offense. Passing T.J. Juckson 13/20 147yds 0TD 2INT Ibrahim Moizoos 1/2 11yds 1TD Rushing T.J. Juckson 21-14 4th Quarter 4-yard TD run by Swirvithan L'Goodling-Splatt 28-14 15-yard TD reception by Antonio Andrews from James Mauro 28-21 Interview with head coach Busters Brownce: "The team played very well tonight overall. We came out of the gate hard, and we got some production from players who don't get much work like Fudge. He had a huge run for 20+ yards and a TD and right now everyone is talking about Fudge. I can promise you he'll be getting more work in the next few weeks if Ozamataz isn't back. T.J. was very efficient passing, he did throw another pick, but he only threw 3 incompletions. He also had that huge breakaway run on that read option and that's what he's been successful on all year. Swirvithan and Fudge both ran very well, so I'm not worried about our running back production. T.J. was also able to complete passes to 7 different receivers today so I really liked seeing that. Our defense didn't do anything special other than holding the other team to less points than us, so they were reliable, but not special. Passing T.J. Juckson 14-17 4th Quarter 3-yard TD run by Cody Fajardo 21-17 Interview with head coach Busters Brownce after the loss: "It obviously doesn't feel good losing, but it sucks we had to lose against a rival like this, especially when you're coming in undefeated. T.J. played well until late in the game and he started to get inaccurate with his passes. He threw interceptions on 2 drives in a row in the 4th quarter when they were trying to give us the game and that really killed us. The running game wasnt really there either besides the two scores by T.J. so we need to get that going consistently. Once again we had no sacks or picks, so we need to try to get some of those next game. Passing T.J. Juckson 10/21 129yds 2INT Rushing Swirvithan L'Goodling-Splatt 13rush 75yds T.J. T.J. did a lot better hitting his receivers today and avoiding throwing picks and he also ran really well. Swirvithan and T.J. combined for 277 yards rushing so if that ever happens again we'll win for sure as long as our defense is mediocre even. Ozamataz once again didn't look great, so we've named Swirvithan the full-time starter. D'Squarius made a couple of big plays today, especially that 35-yard catch and if we can get some more of those big plays we'll be golden. 11-1 here we come. Passing T.J. We started out really hot, but cooled off late and T.J started throwing picks again, which really hurt. T.J. broke off another couple of good runs and Swirvithan looked decent too. Huka'lakanaka was great in the red zone which was a big piece of the game today going for 2 TD's. T.J. also completed passes to 8 different receivers today which was a career high so that was a good new addition to his game, even though he ended up throwing 2 picks. J'Dinkalage was able to wrap up Southwick once this game so it's nice we got our first sack in a few games. Passing T.J. We're too good to lose to a team like this. T.J. did not throw well at all, another 2 picks today. He ran very well though again but we just couldn't string enough good plays together. J'Dinkalage and Davoin both did a good job getting a sack each today but collectively, our defense did not do well, giving up 21 points to a team like this. Our secondary was exploited by Sherry all day today, and when we have the best run defense in the nation but no pass defense, it doesn't matter. Passing T.J.
