NFL Week 5 | Sunday Morning Football

New Orleans Saints (4-0) @ Carolina Panthers (1-3)

Today's game sure was a great one! In the first Mike Goodson ran a 21-yd TD run for the Panthers to make it 7-0. Later in the first, Lance Moore caught a 35-yd TD pass from Drew Brees to make it 7-7. In the second, Olindo Mare made a 51-yd bomb for the Panthers to make it 10-7. Later, John Kasay made a 36-yarder for the Saints to tie it 10-10. To end the second, DeAngelo Williams caught a 21-yd TD pass for the Panthers to make it 17-10 Panthers. In the third, John Kasay nailed a 47-yd field goal for the Saints, 17-13 Panthers. Later, Steve Smith caught a 17-yd TD pass from Cam Newton to make it 24-13 Panthers. Then in the fourth, Kasay made a 41-yd field goal then made a 32-yarder later to make it 24-19 Panthers. With 2:31 Robert Meachem caught a 36-yd TD pass from Drew Brees and the 2-pt conversion was good 27-24 Saints. Final, Saints 27, Panthers 24.

This afternoon's game was a big rivalry. In the second, BenJarvus Green-Ellis ran a 1-yd TD run for the Pats 7-0. Later, Dustin Keller caught a 5-yd TD pass from Greg McElroy to make it 7-7. At the end of the second, Julian Edelman caught a 20-yd YD pass from Tom Brady to make it 14-7 Pats. In the third quarter, Stephen Gostkowski made a 44-yd field goal to make it 17-7. Later in the third, Jerod Mayo got a pick-six on Greg McElroy to make it 24-7 Pats. Later, Dustin Keller caught a 15-yd TD pass from Greg McElroy to make it 24-14 Patriots. In the 4th, L.T. ran a 46-yd TD run to reduce the lead to 24-21. With 10 minutes to go, Deion Branch basically sealed the deal with a 52-yd TD catch from Brady to make it 31-21. Final, Pats 31, Jets 21.
