MLBPPWORLD FANTASY WEEK 11 RECAP

Kerryon My Wayward Son (Dishnet34) 121
Run It Back (GoTwins24) 100.5

Summary:
Kerryon My Wayward Son won a crucial victory to improve to over .500. Right now, they occupy the third seed in the playoffs thanks to their high point total. Aaron Rodgers was the leading scorer once again, scoring 21, although he could have scored more had Green Bay gone on a final drive to beat Indianapolis. Most surprisingly, Melvin Gordon was the team's second-leading scorer after scoring more than he did in all of the last three weeks. Justin Jefferson was also as good as he was last week. While he only caught 3 passes, they were each for a large number of yards, which led to a 15.5-point outing. The last notable performer was Pittsburgh's defense, which tore up Jake Luton for multiple interceptions. Pittsburgh's defense has been the second-best in the league this season, which has been critical for the team's success as defenses have been unpredictable thus far. The only real let-downs were Kareem Hunt, D.K. Metcalf, and Alvin Kamara, but none of these players were poor per se, they just underperformed their averages. With the win, Kerryon My Wayward Son has a strong chance to make the postseason. Run It Back lost their 8th game as their dreadful season continues. Their issues at RB and QB have wasted several good receivers. This was again on display as every pass-catcher scored double-digits while every QB and RB scored five or less. Atlanta's rough performance against New Orleans sunk the team, as had Ryan and Gurley scored just over 10 more points each, they would have won their third game of the season. Instead, they fell to a rough 2-8-1 and could very well finish was just 2 wins on the entire season.

Fresh Prince of Helaire (PhilliesFan134) 137
You've Been Juiced! (LGM77) 97

Summary
Fresh Prince won their best victory of the year in a 40-point landslide. They benefitted from the best waiver pickup of the week: Taysom Hill. Early in the season, Hill was granted TE eligibility, but he made his first start at QB. This allowed Fresh Prince to start 2 QBS this week, which gave them 40 points. Unfortunately for them, Hill's TE eligibility was removed, so this was the only week they could start 2 QBs. Their RBs were also stellar as namesake Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Aaron Jones each hit the 15-point mark. Mainly, their receiving core led them to the victory as Cooper Kupp, Diontae Johnson, and A.J. Brown all reached the double-digit mark. Marvin Jones would have also, but he had a touchdown called back. Their total could even have been greater, but KC's defense failed to score a point. Even still, it was a strong victory for Fresh Prince, and if they would have been luckier in a few games earlier in the season, they may have still been fighting for a playoff spot. You've Been Juiced! was eliminated from postseason contention in the regular season for the first time since 2015. This was largely due to RB issues, and none of their RBs scored double-digits, although Le'Veon Bell came close for the first time this season. Their receiving core was much better, though, as Mike Williams and Curtis Samuel each reached the 15-point mark. With Christian McCaffrey and Kenny Golladay injured for seemingly the entire season, You've Been Juiced! has been forced to patch their lineup together, so their eyes will turn toward a healthier lineup in 2021.

Detroit Phantoms (DTigers115) 120
Team Griffith (jag123jg) 136.5

Summary
Team Griffith clinched their first playoff appearance in league history via their stunning 9-game winning streak. There aren't many flaws on this roster at the moment, and one can argue that Team Griffith has the strongest roster in the league. Their leader this week was Deshaun Watson, who dropped 30 points. Following Watson were Dalvin Cook and Travis Kelce, each of whom has been some of the most dependable players in the league this season. Mike Davis has also been one of the best pickups of the season as Christian McCaffrey has missed an unexpected amount of time with injuries. This was actually Davis's first double-digit outings since Week 6, but he projects continue his Week 11 level going forward. While the team could have the best WR duo in the league with Julio Jones and DeAndre Hopkins, they were underwhelming this week. Julio Jones dealt with lingering hamstring tightness, which has been affecting him all season. If Jones's injury is serious, the team does have some flexibility with a potential Raheem Mostert return. Regardless, Team Griffith will only need to worry about seeding in the final two weeks of the season. In contrast, the Phantoms saw their playoff hopes dealt a crushing blow despite a much better performance than the past few weeks. Had they faced a different opponent, they may have improved to over .500. Every performer, with the exception of Will Lutz and Miami's defense, scored over 10, but none scored over 15. Ezekiel Elliot with the leader with 18, which was relieving for a player who has not scored 10 points since Week 5. Mark Andrews, the team's newest acquisition, justified the trade with a 17.5-point outing. Calvin Ridley also returned to play, but he scored just 11.5 points. Ultimately, Miami's defense may have been the most responsible for the loss. Had they torn Denver's offense apart like many defenses have this season, they could have won. With the loss, the Phantoms are unlikely to make the playoffs due to a tiebreaker disadvantage, but they could still win out and make things interesting.

Cool Brees (ZeroGibson13) 105
Smokin' Jay's Cig Squad (Queso James) 103

Summary:
Cool Brees refused to be eliminated from the playoffs, earning a shocking upset over the Cig Squad. Adam Thielen was the primary reason for this with his 28-point showing. After two weak performances earlier in the year, Thielen has rebounded nicely over the past two weeks. PJ Walker proved to be a decent, albeit risky pickup. If Bridgewater was cleared to play, Walker may not have scored any points, but he ultimately became one of the difference-makers with 10 points. The main difference-maker was Michael Thomas, who scored a season-high 14.5 points. If Thomas returns to his 2019-form, Cool Brees may put together a surprise run. Additionally, La'Mical Perine was a decent fill-in for D'Andre Swift. Perine scored a near season-high 9 points, which was just enough to put Cool Brees over the top. The game ultimately came down to Tampa's defense, which was roughed up by Los Angeles. However, they intercepted two Jared Goff passes, deciding the game. While defenses may be overlooked, this shows how small factors can influence fantasy results. Cool Brees is not yet eliminated, but they will have to overcome a tiebreaker disadvantage. It was an unexpected loss for the Cig Squad, who now occupies the fourth playoff spot ahead of the most crucial matchup of the season against Los Angeles. Russell Wilson and Derrick Henry bounced back from poor performances last week, but it wasn't enough to win. Juju Smith-Schuster was on the opposite end as he scored nearly 15 fewer points this week. Mainly though, the loss came down to poor performances from the flex positions. Adrian Peterson and newly-acquired Tee Higgins combined for just 4.5 points. Joe Burrow's injury was devastating for Higgins, who may have scored a few more with a reliable QB option. Aside from the flex struggles, the fact that no players scored over 20 was likely the reason the Cig Squad lost. They now face a must-win situation in Week 12.

Los Angeles Aodgers (Kungfupandacam) 100.5
Atomic Pickles (AgentP) 135

Summary:
The Atomic Pickles clinched their return to the postseason in a landslide victory. Keenan Allen led the team in scoring with 26 points, the highest of his potential league-winning season thus far. Kyler Murray also performed well, although he is listed as questionable for Week 12. If Murray has to miss time, however, Justin Herbert is waiting in the wings. Herbert actually outscored Murray by 7, so a Murray absence would not be as bad as it could have been. Miles Sanders was the only position player to score under 10, only the second time he has scored single-digits this year. If Sanders continues to struggle in a mediocre offense, the Pickles can turn to Robert Woods. Woods has scored over 20 in two of the last three games, although he still needs to find some consistency. D.J. Moore returned to the starting lineup to score 17.5, which has been a relief after a rough stretch. With their 8th win of the season, there is no way the Pickles can miss the postseason with the remaining schedule set the way it is. Los Angeles dropped the game and are now faced with the biggest matchup of 2020 against the Cig Squad. Fortunately for them, Josh Allen will be returning from his bye week. Tua Tagovailoa struggled and was benched with just 7 points. Runningbacks were the biggest reasons for their defeat though, as Gio Bernard, Ronald Jones, and Leonard Fournette all underwhelmed. Carlos Hyde was the only solid running back, scoring 15. To make a postseason run, Los Angeles will need Joe Mixon and Chris Carson to make quick returns to solidify the RB position. Still, with Davante Adams and Stefon Diggs performing at WR1 levels, the Aodgers have a solid chance at a playoff run.

MLBPPWORLD FANTASY WEEK 12 RECAP

Run It Back (GoTwins24) 133
Team Griffith (jag123jg) 122.5

Summary:
It was a matchup of two teams that made a trade earlier in the year, but none of the players involved (Julio Jones, Myles Gaskin, Todd Gurley) was active for this week. Despite this, Run It Back snapped Team Griffith's 9-game winning streak. This was almost entirely because of Tyreek Hill's historic 50.5-point performance, the best of 2020 thus far. Hill accounted for nearly half of the team's points, but David Montgomery was an unsung hero. Had Montgomery struggled as he did before his injury, Team Griffith would have reached the 10-straight win mark. They survived Jonnu Smith and Derek Carr's zero-point outings, as well as another bust performance from Tyler Lockett. Run It Back avoided a sub-3 win season, which became their goal after a miserable start to the season. Team Griffith lost their first game since Week 2 in an unlucky loss. It didn't seem like they were on track for this, as Deshaun Watson got the team off to a hot start with a 32-point outing Thursday. Unfortunately for them, the Rams' defense was the only other 15+ point performance. Usually reliable, Mike Davis and Dalvin Cook disappointed by each scoring under 10. DeAndre Hopkins and Brandin Cooks were also just okay, hovering around the 10-point mark. Hopkins has scored the exact same total- 7.5- in each of the past two weeks. Damien Harris also cooled off, putting up just 4. Ultimately, Team Griffith was just a few strong showings away from a tenth-straight win.

Cool Brees (ZeroGibson13) 111.5
Detroit Phantoms (DTigers115) 119.5

Summary:
The Detroit Phantoms snapped a 4-game losing streak and remained in playoff contention, albeit with astronomical odds. While their performances are generally tied to Ezekiel Elliot, they survived his brutal 1.5-point clunker. This was thanks to Kenyan Drake's second-best showing of 2020- a 21.5 point game. Ryan Fitzpatrick returned to Miami's lineup to score a key 19 points, which may have been the tipping point in this game. On the receiving side, Devante Parker, Calvin Ridley, and Chris Godwin were solid performers. None of them surpassed 15, but they all did just enough to win the game. James Conner and Mark Andrews's absences may have prevented them from reaching at least 125 points because neither of their replacements performed all that well. Even still, the Phantoms have a chance to finish over .500, even if they miss the postseason. Cool Brees was eliminated from the postseason in the slim loss. James Robinson was the standout with 23.5 points, but no one could really match him. Austin Ekeler came close, and if he would have been given more touches, he may have made it even closer. Wide Receivers and QB play sunk the team this week, as neither Michael Thomas nor Nelson Agholor scored in double digits. Most importantly though, Jared Goff scored just 2 points. Had he scored just over 10, Cool Brees would have won and improved to .500. Instead, their best possible record is 6-7, which isn't necessarily bad given their overall point total.

You've Been Juiced! (LGM77) 85.5
Kerryon My Wayward Son (Dishnet34) 135

Summary:
Kerryon My Wayward Son officially clinched their playoff return in a landslide victory. Three players- Aaron Rodgers, Justin Jefferson, and D.K. Metcalf- all scored over 20 points. Not many expected Jefferson and Metcalf to be such strong performers at their position, but they have both been some of 2020's breakout players. Metcalf was taken in the 6th round while Jefferson was taken in the 15th round, showing how the commish has built his team with breakout stars. Aaron Rodgers was drafted even later- the 17th round- which seems remarkable that he slipped that far. Aside from one strange outlier against Tampa, Rodgers has scored 20 points in every game this year. Even more remarkable is that he was the third quarterback selected by the team. The only point of concern for them at the moment is their RB position as Alvin Kamara and Melvin Gordon struggled this week in an ugly game. Kareem Hunt was also outshined by Nick Chubb, suggesting a smaller workload for the rest of the season. They don't have another reliable RB on the bench, so the waiver wire may be beneficial for them. If the RB issue is evened out, they will be a threat in the postseason. You've Been Juiced! fell to 3-8-1 despite Patrick Mahomes's brilliant game. Due to numerous injuries, Mahomes has been the only real bright spot on the team this year. He nearly accounted for half the team's points as Evan Engram and Seattle's defense were the only other performers to surpass the 10-point mark. RBs have been a major issue with Christian McCaffrey's injury woes, and that continued as three players combined for just 15 points. WRs have not fared much better with Golladay's injury as three players combining for just 13. Heading into next season, they will hope to have a healthier roster to make a postseason return.

Atomic Pickles (AgentP) 110.5
Fresh Prince of Helaire (PhilliesFan134) 98.5

Summary:
The Atomic Pickles now have a legitimate chance at the top seed with their ninth win of the season. Most teams that rely on Kyler Murray lost this week, but Antonio Gibson provided a key cushion with 33.5 points on Thanksgiving. Will Fuller also dominated on Thanksgiving, but he was hit with the shocking news of a rest-of-season suspension for PEDs. Fuller was subsequently dropped. This would devastate many teams, but the Pickles have CeeDee Lamb, Cole Beasley, and Robert Woods available as replacements, so they can potentially survive the hit. Their point total this week was lower than expected after a great start Thursday, with Josh Jacobs, Kyler Murray, and Miles Sanders struggling. Even Indy's defense, which is usually reliable, lost them 5 points. Had Fuller and Gibson been just average, they would have fallen to 8-4, but they still would have been primed for a playoff run. The Pickles will be a popular pick to make another 2018-style playoff run. Fresh Prince lost and fell to 4-8. A.J. Brown was the standout this week, which has been a constant since he returned from injury. Like so many other teams this season, though, running-backs sunk them this week. Neither Aaron Jones nor Edwards-Helaire scored over 10. Jones has been underwhelming since his 42-point showing earlier in the year, but Green Bay has an easier schedule coming up, so he may be able to have some better showings. Edwards-Helaire was the bigger letdown of the two as if he performed as well as he did last week, they would have won. Cooper Kupp and Diontae Johnson also failed to make a necessary impact, each scoring under 10. Had they played Deebo Samuel, who was on the winning side of SF-LAR, the team would also have won. Yet, Cleveland's defense may have been the biggest letdown, as they didn't score a single point against Mike Glennon and Jacksonville. Fresh Prince will look to win next week and avoid a last-place finish.

Los Angeles Aodgers (Kungfupandacam) 112
Smokin' Jay's Cig Squad (Queso James) 166

Summary:
The Cig Squad won an emphatic victory in the game of the week and basically secured a playoff spot. The game was essentially a playoff game, as the winner would be at least a win away from the playoffs, depending on the tiebreaker. Derrick Henry is arguably the clutchest fantasy player in the league. Henry won the championship singlehandedly last season, and he likely led his team to a playoff run this year. This week, he scored 36 points. Nick Chubb and Allen Robinson were strong, the latter benefitting from Mitchell Trubisky's return to the lineup. Even the team's defense and special teams were remarkable- with Green Bay's DST and Younghoe Koo combining for 36 points. The Cig Squad could have even pushed for the never-accomplished 200-point mark had they played Jarvis Landry over Travis Fulgham and Juju Smith-Schuster over Sterling Shepherd. These decisions would have put them close to 200, but Russell Wilson would have had to have performed better to push them over. Still, with such a big win, the Cig Squad is unlikely to be disappointed. They will now turn their focus to seeding/matchups. Los Angeles faces a tough road to the postseason. To make it, they need to win, their opponent from this week to lose, and to outscore them by over 66 points. Because of the last factor, it was crucial that the Cig Squad won in such a landslide. The Aodgers would have beat a few teams this week, but they had poor matchup luck. Dallas Goedert was the only one to score over 15, although Josh Allen, Davante Adams, and Ronald Jones each scored exactly 15. Joe Mixon's injury has devastated Los Angeles this year, as Gio Bernard has been a subpar replacement. Chris Carson patched some RB issues in his long-awaited return, although he scored just 12. Stefon Diggs may have been the biggest letdown, though, as he scored just 6.5 points. If they are to make a miraculous playoff appearance, they will need a performance like they had in Week 4, where they scored 171 points.

Standings
Alvin Lockhart Division
Team Griffith 9-3
Kerryon My Wayward Son 7-5
Detroit Phantoms 6-6
Run It Back 3-8-1

MLBPPWORLD FANTASY WEEK 13 RECAP

Run It Back (GoTwins24) 112.5
Detroit Phantoms (DTigers115) 133

Summary:
A rematch of the 2019 championship game did not have playoff implications, but the Phantoms got some revenge by sweeping the team that defeated them last year. After a rough losing streak, the Phantoms closed off the season on a decent note, finishing over .500. Corey Davis was the standout by far as he scored 29.5. If he only scored his projected total, the Phantoms may have dropped this one. Kirk Cousins was also a solid stream, scoring 21 points in an OT win over the Jags. The game sort of summed up their season as they won despite average games from Ezekiel Elliot and Keyan Drake. Had these two performed up to expectations in 2020, the Phantoms would likely be a playoff team. Injuries also hurt the Phantoms with Dak Prescott, Chris Godwin, and now James Conner struggling to take the field consistently. In 2021, they will seek a playoff return and a healthy season. Run It Back was the second straight defending champion to win just 3 games in the regular season. They were doomed from Week 2 when Saquon Barkley suffered a season-ending ACL tear, but the lack of depth and boom-or-bust players have hurt them all season. No one fits the description of "boom or bust" like Tyler Lockett, who has now scored less than 10 in more than half of the games this year. Chase Claypool and Terry McLaurin also struggled and had they performed to their usual standards, the team may have pulled off the victory. The even-year curse struck again for Run It Back, who will look to have a stronger team and better record in an odd year.

Atomic Pickles (AgentP) 75.5
Kerryon My Wayward Son (Dishnet34) 116.5

Summary:
Since these teams will meet again in the postseason, they will face each other in three consecutive weeks. Kerryon My Wayward Son will hope for a repeat of this week in each of those weeks. They have a plethora of consistent performers who are almost always good for 15+ points per week, and these players stepped up again this week. Aaron Rodgers, Melvin Gordon, Alvin Kamara, and Justin Jefferson all scored near the 15-point mark. This is especially impressive given Aaron Rodgers and Justin Jefferson were both drafted past the 15th round of the draft, making them arguably the two best value picks in recent memory. One concern is D.K. Metcalf, who has been a bit inconsistent lately, so they will hope Seattle's offense finds some consistency after their upset loss. Kareem Hunt may also be a concern as it seems he has taken a backseat to Nick Chubb in Cleveland. Still, the rest of the roster is remarkably consistent, which will make this team a threat in the postseason. The Atomic Pickles had their worst showing of 2020, mostly due to the early injury to Antonio Gibson. Gibson is now questionable with a moderate toe injury, which is a big concern that it happened right before the playoffs. Miles Sanders also struggled, and the question now is whether he will take a step forward with Jalen Hurts leading the offense. He also faces the Saints' run defense, which has stifled opposing RBs all season. The team also struggled at the flex spot, but Cole Beasley may be a more viable option than Jerry Jeudy or Ceedee Lamb. Beasley is just outside the top-20 of WRs this year, which would have surprised many in the preseason. The Pickles will need to return to form quickly if they are to reclaim their 2018 title.

Cool Brees (ZeroGibson13) 114.5
Los Angeles Aodgers (Kungfupandacam) 144

Summary:
Los Angeles was arguably the best non-playoff team of the season, and they closed off the season on a high note. They scored nearly 150, a total they have come close to many times in 2020. Josh Allen led in scoring with 30, which marked the fourth time he reached that mark this season. Davante Adams has also been one of the fantasy MVPs this season, nearing 30 points as well. Chris Carson's injury very well may have cost this team a playoff spot, but he scored 17.5 in his final regular-season game. Joe Mixon's injury may have been even more devastating, as his replacement Giovani Bernard failed to make any impact after Week 8. Had the two star running-backs stayed healthy, the Aodgers could have won one or two more games, which would have vaulted them into the postseason. Cool Brees fell to 5-8, which is not entirely bad given their low power ranking. They had several strong performances, mainly from Jared Goff, James Robinson, Adam Thielen, and Michael Thomas. James Robinson was probably the greatest waiver pickup of 2020 as he ranked fourth among all running-backs in scoring. Had Austin Ekeler remained healthy, they could have moved D'Andre Swift to their flex spot, which would have solidified the position. Additionally, Michael Thomas's injury was quite costly, as anytime a team loses their first-round pick for nearly the entire season, they are going to struggle. Ultimately, it was a lack of depth that cost Cool Brees a playoff spot this season, but their 5-8 record is not really anything to be ashamed of.

Team Griffith (jag123jg) 128.5
You've Been Juiced! (LGM77) 61.5

Summary:
With their win, Team Griffith is the only 10-win team in the league this season. This is especially impressive since they have never made the postseason before. This week, it was a solid team effort that carried them to the win. Dalvin Cook and Travis Kelce both scored over 20, and both made ESPN's list of players that were on the most playoff rosters across the site. DeAndre Hopkins also bounced back from two let-downs with a 15-point performance, which was actually his best game since the hail mary against Buffalo. While Arizona's offense is concerning right now, it is a good sign for them that Hopkins is improving. Julio Jones was decent, scoring 12, but it was his first time in double figures since Week 9. Jones has had end-zone issues for years now, and Week 9 was also the last time he scored a touchdown. He has only scored 3 this season, but he still has time to step it up if he returns to full health. Unfortunately, though, Jones was held out of practice Wednesday, meaning his status is questionable at best. Another concerning sign was that Raheem Mostert struggled, scoring 10 less points than he was projected to score. Mostert has had health issues as well this season, but he also broke out late in the year in 2019. Mike Davis returns from bye next week, but it will be unclear how he will play with Christian McCaffrey potentially returning. Even with these injury concerns, Team Griffith may be the favorite to bring home the title. You've Been Juiced! was the team affected the most by injuries. Kenny Golladay, Odell Beckham Jr., and Christian McCaffrey all missed nearly the entire season. With such losses, it was always going to be difficult for the team to win. Their receiving core and running-backs all disappointed this week, with none scoring over 10. In fact, Patrick Mahomes was the leading scorer with 18, but this is low by his elite standards. Darrell Henderson and JD McKissic would have been better options off the bench, but they would not have affected the outcome in any way. Seattle's defense also outscored Baltimore's, which was unexpected given Seattle's poor defensive play this year. This year marked the first time You've Been Juiced! ever missed the postseason, so they will look to be back with a vengeance in 2021.

Fresh Prince of Helaire (PhilliesFan134) 126
Smokin' Jay's Cig Squad (Queso James) 134.5

Summary:
The Cig Squad officially became the only playoff team from last season to return to the postseason. Although they won four less games, they will trade that for a better postseason performance if possible this year. This week, Darren Waller was the standout, scoring 38.5 points. Such a high total is remarkable for a tight end, especially given he only scored 4 last week. If Carr continues to feed his star TE, the Cig Squad may have an edge in the postseason, though Waller will match up against Travis Kelce. Their Browns duo of Nick Chubb and Jarvis Landry impressed again this week, and it looks like the Browns are finally reaching their offense's full potential. They could have reached the 150+ mark again had Derrick Henry and Russell Wilson performed better. Wilson and Henry combined for just 18.5 points, which is much lower than the duo's potential. Luckily for them, Wilson faces the Jets and Henry faces Jacksonville. Henry has torn Jacksonville apart in the past, and the Jets allowed Derek Carr to be the top-scoring QB last week. This could be a perfect formula for the Cig Squad to pull of an upset, which would be a reverse of their 2019 postseason. Fresh Prince of Helaire fell to 4-9 in an unlucky matchup. In total they had five players score over 20, though three of them did not start. Keke Coutee also came close to 20, scoring 18 on the bench. Taysom Hill and Aaron Jones were the two starters that scored over 20, and had Hill still maintained TE eligibility, Fresh Prince would have pulled off a final upset win. Devontae Booker cost them the most, scoring just 5.5 despite being projected to score over 12. Had Jonathan Taylor started in his stead, Fresh Prince would have pulled off a narrow win. Even still, Fresh Prince looks like they can move up a few spots in the final standings (which include the consolation ladder). Fresh Prince was a solid team in 2020, but their biggest weakness was likely Baltimore's regression. Had Lamar Jackson and Mark Andrews (who was traded to the Phantoms) had performed at their 2019 clips, Fresh Prince may have been in playoff contention in the final weeks.

MLBPPWORLD SEMIFINAL LEG 1 RECAP

Smokin' Jay's Cig Squad (Queso James) 161
Team Griffith (jag123jg) 143.5

Summary:
After falling in the first round as the number 1 seed in 2019, Smokin' Jay's Cig Squad looks to do the inverse this year. Despite a tough matchup, they took a 17.5-point advantage to the second round of the semifinal matchup. Derrick Henry has been the fantasy playoff MVP for each of the last two seasons, and he continued his playoff dominance with a 34-point outing against Jacksonville. Russell Wilson, after struggling for a few weeks, returned to the 20-point mark with a 4-touchdown game. Allen Robinson struggled for the middle portion of the season, but after Chicago turned back to Mitchell Trubisky, Robinson has returned to his WR1 ceiling. He scored 22.5 points for the second time in two weeks. Nick Chubb was the last 23-point scorer, officially securing the Cig Squad's advantage with 23 points Monday night, though it could have been more had Kareem Hunt not have outscored him. The team's only concern may be at flex, although Brandon Aiyuk has been a pleasant surprise in the last few weeks. Mike Gesicki and Juju Smith-Schuster would have put the team near the 200 mark, but it will be interesting to see what their flex spot will look like for the final round of this pivotal matchup. The Cig Squad have had some great weeks recently, and they will hope to continue that trend to make the finals. Team Griffith fell behind despite one of their best showings of the season. Mike Davis and Travis Kelce led the team in scoring, each surpassing the 20-point mark. It was the first time Davis reached this milestone since Week 5. With McCaffrey potentially shut down for the season, Davis may prove to be the pickup of the season. LA's defense also scored 20 in a takedown of New England. They've been one of the more consistent defenses in recent weeks, and have a great matchup against the Jets next round. Deshaun Watson and Dalvin Cook were each solid, combining for 32 points, but this was not enough to best the Cig Squad. The main reasons for this were the poor performances from Antonio Brown, Raheem Mostert, and Jamaal Williams. Had Julio Jones and Brandin Cooks been healthy, they would have likely brought Team Griffith closer to the Cig Squad. If the pair is healthy next week, it could be the momentum push Team Griffith needs to erase their deficit.

Kerryon My Wayward Son (Dishnet34) 138.5
Atomic Pickles (AgentP) 123

Summary:
Kerryon My Wayward Son benefitted from an afternoon and primetime push to take a 15.5-point advantage into the next round. Aaron Rodgers, the team and potentially the league's MVP, led the way again with 30 points. Yet, it was Kareem Hunt who made the biggest impact, scoring 25 Monday night after a string of subpar showings. Hunt only had 33 yards on the ground, but he made his impact clear in the passing game. Alvin Kamara and D.K. Metcalf were also strong, each scoring over 15 points, which is to be expected from the duo. Had Justin Jefferson and Mike Evans performed at a higher level, Kerryon My Wayward Son could be looking at a 20+ point cushion, but a 15.5-point lead against the #2 seed is far from a sub-optimal outcome. Pittsburgh's defense scored less than 10, but they face an extremely favorable matchup next Monday against the Cincinnati Bengals. It is possible to envision a scenario where the matchup comes down to this game, which would lean towards an upset. The Atomic Pickles fell behind despite a solid showing. Miles Sanders, who has struggled a bit since his return from injury, clearly benefitted from Philly's QB change to score 27 points. Washington's defense was the pickup of the week as they scored 26, their best total of the season. They made an interesting change at QB, playing Justin Herbert over Kyler Murray. This cost them 2 points, but they believed Herbert's up-side was higher than Murray due to the latter's recent struggles. Keenan Allen rebounded from a slow outing last week by scoring 15.5. However, Herbert and Allen's up-sides are much higher, and they will need to show that against Las Vegas for the Pickles to overcome their deficit. Ultimately though, other running-backs cost the Pickles an early advantage. Josh Jacobs struggled at limited health while streaming play DeAndre Washington scored just 5. Had Antonio Gibson been healthy, this week may have been a different story. The Pickles will need to return to health to surpass a 15.5-point deficit, but it is certainly possible for them to do so.

Consolation Ladder Scores:
Detroit Phantoms (DTigers115) 91.5
Los Angeles Aodgers (Kungfupandacam) 121.5

Fresh Prince of Helaire (Philliesfan134) 113.5
Cool Brees (ZeroGibson13) 108.5

Run It Back (GoTwins24) 112.5
You've Been Juiced! (LGM77) 71

MLBPPWORLD FANTASY SEMIFINAL LEG 2 RECAP

Smokin' Jay's Cig Squad (Queso James) 301.5
Team Griffith (jag123jg) 275

Summary:
It was an incredible reverse of fate for the Cig Squad, who upset the #1 seed after being upset themselves last season. They led by over 15 heading into the matchup, and Team Griffith could not reverse this lead. The Cig Squad ultimately outscored the top seed by a few points this week, riding strong outings from team MVPs Darren Waller and Derrick Henry. Each scored close to the 25-point mark, which was more than enough to win. An interesting storyline is how dominant Derrick Henry has been in the playoffs each of the last two seasons. Henry accounted for over 50 total points this matchup, and two more favorable matchups should make him a viable play in the championship. From the flex spot, the Cig Squad benefitted from solid showings out of Brandon Aiyuk and Jarvis Landry, each of whom scored just over 15 points. Russell Wilson and Robby Anderson were the only two disappointments, Wilson scored 11 and Anderson scored just 3. If Wilson continues his slide since his red-hot start, Baker Mayfield may be a potential bench option. Still, with the win, Smokin' Jay's Cig Squad clinched their first finals appearance in league history and will be a formidable foe for the Atomic Pickles. Team Griffith, which appeared to be the strongest team throughout most of the season, lost their first-ever playoff game. Injuries played at least a minor role in this defeat, with Julio Jones, Raheem Mostert, and Damien Harris missing all or some of this matchup. With a few of these players at full health, Team Griffith may have put up a bigger challenge. While Dalvin Cook was as good as usual, Mike Davis struggled in the final week of the matchup. Davis scored just 6, which was half of his projected total. DeAndre Hopkins and Travis Kelce did all they could to lead Team Griffith to a comeback, both scoring between 15-25 points. Though, it was not enough to overcome a 15.5-point deficit. In 2021, Team Griffith will hope to be healthier down the stretch to win their first-ever playoff game.

Kerryon My Wayward Son (Dishnet34) 237
Atomic Pickles (AgentP) 250.5

Summary:
After an underwhelming 2019 season, the Atomic Pickles secured their second championship appearance in three seasons. They trailed by 15.5 heading into the week, but they reversed that deficit with relative ease, winning this one by nearly 30. Kyler Murray returned to elite fantasy status by dropping 32 points, which outscored replacement Justin Herbert by a few points. Eric Ebron and Keenan Allen combined for just 1.5 points, which could have been devastating had the flex players not performed well. Instead, Cole Beasley and Robert Woods combined for 33 key points. At the RB position, the dynamic duo of Josh Jacobs and Miles Sanders also combined for nearly 30 points. Lastly, DJ Moore returned to score a solid 16 points, which was his best performance since Week 11. With Antonio Gibson injured for the entire semifinal, the Atomic Pickles needed to patch together a flex situation, which they did quite well with Beasley and Woods. If Gibson returns in the championship, the Pickles may avoid a situation where they need to rely on boom-or-bust players in key positions. Though, if Eric Ebron's injury keeps him out for the remainder of the season, the Pickles will need to turn to the waiver wire to find a new TE, which will be a difficult task given the TE situation this season. Still, the Pickles will be in a strong position to win their second title. Kerryon My Wayward Son lost in disappointing fashion, where one move would have put them in the title game. Had the team started Logan Thomas over TJ Hockenson, they would have won outright. This was a wise decision on the outset, as Hockenson is generally more reliable than Thomas, but it did not pay off this week. Aaron Rodgers may have been the other biggest disappointment, as had he given another 30-point performance, Kerryon My Wayward Son would have also won outright. In fact, this was the first time Rodgers scored under 20 points since his 3-point clunker in Week 6. DK Metcalf and Kareem Hunt were also major let-downs, scoring under 10 after big weeks in the first round. Melvin Gordon and Alvin Kamara were strong from the RB spot, but the other positions could not follow their lead. It was a disappointing loss, but Kerryon My Wayward Son put forth a valiant effort with many value picks in the draft.

Consolation Ladder Scores
Detroit Phantoms (DTigers115) 188
Los Angeles Aodgers (Kungfupandacam) 257

Fresh Prince of Helaire (PhilliesFan134) 248.5
Cool Brees (ZeroGibson13) 212.5

Run it Back (GoTwins24) 228
You've Been Juiced! (LGM77) 186

Best of luck to the two remaining teams!

MLBPPWORLD FANTASY CHAMPIONSHIP LEG 1 RECAP

Atomic Pickles (AgentP) 119
Smokin' Jay's Cig Squad (Queso James) 100

Summary:
The Atomic Pickles took a major step to winning their second title in three seasons by gaining a 19-point advantage in the first round of the championship. A few weeks ago, the team signed Jeff Wilson Jr. to their roster after he recovered from his injury. This became a pivotal move as Wilson Jr. scored 26.5 points- the only person on the roster who scored over 20. Had Wilson not performed this well, the Pickles may not have held an advantage. Kyler Murray, after a strong start to the season, has cooled off as of late. He scored 14 this week, which was a bit disappointing given the matchup. Murray also left the game with an injury. While it is likely he will play in Week 17, his mobility will probably be limited. This may make Justin Herbert a better play. Miles Sanders was the team's second-leading scorer as he doubled his point total from Week 15, although it wasn't as strong as his Week 14 performance. Antonio Gibson returned to the lineup, but he was disappointing with a smaller workload than usual. Mainly, receiving issues prevented the Pickles from a bigger lead. No receiver surpassed the 10-point mark, with Robert Woods and DJ Moore combining for an underwhelming 11.5 points. Ceedee Lamb more than doubled their performances, but Lamb may be too inconsistent to trust in the final week. Still, the Pickles have a solid lead heading into the all-important final round. The Cig Squad's deficit may be attributed to Derrick Henry. Had Henry performed up to his usual standard, the Cig Squad would have probably led after the first round. Henry scored just 9 points, his first time in single-digits since Week 13. Baker Mayfield was also poor, although he did not have any receivers to throw to. Jarvis Landry's absence may have hurt, but Tee Higgins was a strong replacement with an 18-point showing. This was good enough to make Higgins the leading-scorer. Pass-catchers were strong in general, as Allen Robinson, Robby Anderson, and Darren Waller all scoring in double-digits. However, none of them scored over 20, which was the biggest issue with Henry struggling. Still, the deficit is not insurmountable, and Derrick Henry delivered a legendary performance in Week 17 of 2019, which gives the Cig Squad some hope.

Consolation Ladder Scores:
Kerryon My Wayward Son (Dishnet34) 172
Team Griffith (jag123jg) 137

Fresh Prince of Helaire (PhilliesFan134) 121
Los Angeles Aodgers (Kungfupandacam) 168.5

Run It Back (GoTwins24) 124.5
Detroit Phantoms (DTigers115) 113

You've Been Juiced! (LGM77) 106.5
Cool Brees (ZeroGibson13) 99

Best of luck to the two finalists in Week 17!

SMOKIN' JAY'S CIG SQUAD COMPLETES COMEBACK, WINS 2020 MLBPPWORLD FANTASY CHAMPIONSHIP
Image
In a thrilling finish, the Cig Squad became the fantasy champion. Their story was especially compelling as they were upset as the number one overall seed in 2019 but won the 2020 title as the fourth seed. Like last season, Derrick Henry was the hero in Houston during Week 17. In 2019, Henry scored 40 against his division rival. This year, he came close to a repeat performance with 35. Aside from Henry, Sterling Shepard was the key X-factor. Shepard scored a remarkable 29.5 points and had he fallen short of such a strong total, the win may have been much less comfortable. Shepard's excellence offset a poor game from Allen Robinson, who was shut down by Jaire Alexander. At halftime, Robinson had zero catches and zero targets, a sign for alarm. Fortunately for the Cig Squad, their other star pass-catcher, Darren Waller, capped off his stellar season with a 21.5-point outing. The last notable performance came from Nick Chubb, who scored his most points since the opening playoff round to get Cleveland into the Playoffs and to give the Cig Squad a title. The Cig Squad was one of the favorites heading into the season, and they justified this status by winning the title. It was a disappointing loss for the Atomic Pickles, who led after the first round. This time, they were hampered by subpar pass catching. None of their receivers- Robert Woods, Ceedee Lamb, and DJ Moore, were noticeable. Moore led this group with 12.5, but it was far from enough to maintain the lead. Their running-backs did all they could, as Josh Jacobs and Jeff Wilson Jr. each scored over twenty. Justin Herbert was also as dependable as usual with a 32-point effort, and it will be interesting to see how Herbert is valued next season. The game came down to Antonio Gibson, who made a late second-half push, but he did not score any touchdowns. Because of this, he finished below the 10-point mark. While the lost lead is disappointing, the Pickles still had a tremendous 2020 campaign.

Consolation Ladder Scores:
Kerryon My Wayward Son (Dishnet34) 275
Team Griffith (jag123jg) 298.5

Fresh Prince of Helaire (PhilliesFan134) 264.5
Los Angeles Aodgers (Kungfupandacam) 283

Run It Back (GoTwins24) 270
Detroit Phantoms (DTigers115) 205

You've Been Juiced! (LGM77) 228
Cool Brees (ZeroGibson13) 165

Final Standings:
1. Smokin' Jay's Cig Squad
2. Atomic Pickles
3. Team Griffith
4. Kerryon My Wayward Son
5. Los Angeles Aodgers
6. Fresh Prince of Helaire
7. Run It Back
8. Detroit Phantoms
9. You've Been Juiced!
10. Cool Brees

Best of luck in 2021!
