2016 Texas Rangers (UPDATED) **********2016 TEXAS RANGERS LOG COMING TO A THEATRE NEAR YOU*************** Rotation 1. Yu Darvish - returning from TJ, could swap him with Hamels in 1 or 2 spot 2. Cole Hamels - Anchor in the Staff 3. Andrew Cashner* - Trade details are below, perfect fit, TCU guy 4. Derek Holland - Should bounce back, we will determine whenever he returns this year. 5. Chi Chi Gonzalez/Martin Perez - These two guys will battle it out in the Spring, we need to see more of Perez down the stretch. We will likely see Chi Chi in Sept. Bullpen 1. Nick Martinez - Long man and Spot Starter, he will be in the same role kind of like how Odrisamer Despaigne is doing in San Diego 2. Brandon Mauer* - Trade details below, should be a tremendous addition to the pen 3. Sam Freeman - Another lefty out of pen, also a hometown guy 4. Jake Deikman - Solid, he will sure help out Bannister with choices out of the pen 5. Keone Kela - Need to protect him, will be part of the future 6. Darren O'Day* - FA Details below, former Ranger, so it should be a great reunion 7. Shawn Tolleson - The Closer, and is a hometown guy *I will show AAA depth later, I will have more arms to be shuttling in from around Round Rock, just in case Pitching Moves Trade with San Diego TEX acquires Andrew Cashner and Brandon Mauer for Jurickson Profar, Frank Lopez, and Ryan Cordell Darren O'Day - 2 yrs./6.8 mil Catchers 1. Robinson Chirinos - he's staying, one of JD's guys 2. Carlos Corporan - I'm a fan of him, solid backup Infielders 1. Prince Fielder - Will be DH, MVP Candidate 2. Mitch Moreland - plays a solid 1B 4. Rougned Odor - His defense needs to improve, but he's part of future....... 5. Elvis Andrus - He's a leader, and I think Bannister can keep him focused throughout the way 6. Adrian Beltre - Big presence here in TX Utility 1. Adam Rosales - Amazing, he can play anywhere 2. Kike Hernandez* - He has a special bond with Corporan, Trade details below Trade with Los Angeles (NL) *TEX acquires Kike Hernandez from Los Angeles for a cash and a PTBNL Outfielders 1. Josh Hamilton - $6 million per year is a bargain for my starting RF, I'll take anything out of this guy 2. Delino DeShields - Starkplug, he's amazing, he'll be here for a while if he keeps it up 3. Yoenis Cespedes - Would pay for this guy!! Impact starting LF, going to move Hambone to RF. Mets fans will be devastated once he leaves, JD is swinging for the fences once again 4. Leonys Martin - Solid #4 outfielder, has great defense and speed vital late in games. Kind of like Jarrod Dyson. *Cespedes Deal 5 yrs, 96million, 6th year option for 20 million. Would then Trade Choo for Ethier from LAD for some cash. I would then trade Ethier and cash to Atlanta for Andrew McKirahan, Manny Banuelos, and APTBNL *In this deal, I get two arms I need for the bullpen. It's a need and I address it by trading Choo away to LAD. I see LAD also trading away Crawford to another team, so.....
