Mark Buehrle and Andy Pettitte are/were both really good picking off runners, but I like the call on Steve Carlton. When I was making my 80's league, I am pretty sure Carlton was the leader in that era - and that was his 3rd decade in the league!

Actually, the only reason I guessed Carlton is because I know he won a few Cy Young's with the Phillies. :P

I remember that Steve Carlton had a third of the Philliies wins in one season and he won the Cy Young that year, he had around 21 wins.

Apparently, he isn't around to give the correct answer, so here it is:

Steve Carlton is the correct answer.

In 1901 and 1902, there was a team known as the Baltimore Orioles. That team changed it's name (twice), and is currently known as the what?

DA BALTIMORE ORIOLES.

I don't know, I know they changed their name to the St. Louis browns at one point.

I'm guessing the second name was Washington Senators, so that would make them the Minnesota Twins.

No. The Orioles were known as the Milwaukee Brewers for their first few years of existance, then became the St. Louis Browns for 50 years, and have been in Baltimore since '54.

And Zumi, no. The Senators lasted from '01-60, and have been the Twins ever since

New York Giants > San Francisco Giants? Wait, they changed their name twice, but that doesn't mean they moved twice. Hmm . . .

Was the team new in 1901, or did they move to Baltimore from another city?

1901 was their first season, and they were an original AL team. That should narrow it down to about 6

Hmmm. Boston, Chicago, Detroit and Cleveland had AL teams. So did Washington, but they became the Twins. Philadelphia moved to KC and then Oakland, but both moves came way after 1903. Most of the major cities had two teams back in those days, and New York had 3 if you count Brooklyn. Jeezus . . . I feel like I should know this. But I also feel like I have no idea. Good question!

I think I already answered it above (unknowingly), but I also have my doubts because it would blow my mind.

Anyhow, like I said: it's not Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Washington or Philadelphia. That's 6 teams. I had no idea about Milwaukee - I never would have guessed they were an original AL team - but that makes 7. There were only 8 teams in the AL. So . . . if all of that is accurate, that leaves the New York Yankees. Is that right? Mind blown if that is true. I mean, the Yankees weren't part of the original 1901 expansion? It doesn't seem right. I think they were originally the Hilltoppers before changing to the Yankees.
