...and here's part two!

Vancouver Mendenhals (dishnetkid) WERTH Total: -6.07

This is looking like last year all over again. Once again, the hitting is very mediocre, bordering on poor. Fielder is easily the best hitter on the team, and with his new team, he should see his homers exceed 30. Too bad he and his 5.34 WERTH is the only bright spot on offense. Other than him, Kinsler, and just barely Mauer, everyone is in the negatives. Werth (who's WERTH is -2.32, in case you were wondering), Jennings, and Heyward are all number 3 outfielders at best, the first two learning towards being number 4's. And your other three outfielders are young upside guys, which I guess is okay as long as one pans out. Also, aside from Kinsler, the middle infielders look terrible. I'm very low on Ramirez, Walker provides nothing special, and Sogard was just a joke pick.

However, that pitching though. Obviously, retaining the two Cy Young winners and their 13.02 WERTH. Just the two of them should notch 450 K's, maybe 40 wins, and a 3.00 ERA. The two Asians are a bit risky, but if they both have the skills to dominate this year. Corbin won't touch last year's numbers, but he provides decent value. And A.J. Burnett, is consistent, I guess. The relievers are good, for the most part. Nathan and Romo are both quality closers, but Crain is will start the season injured, or even worse, the Astro's closer. Smyly is okay, but SPARP's (Starting Pitchers as Relief Pitchers) have absolutely no value in this league. He won't be useful until he gets starter eligibility.

Bottom Line: To stand a shot, the hitting will need to step up. 16 roto points like last year can't be a possibility.

Liberty City Swingers (PowerPro Jr) WERTH Total: -7.14

The runner-ups actually showed up to the draft this time, and, well, at least they have good middle infielders. Cano, Ramirez, and Kipnis are arguably the top-3 middle infielders in baseball, yet only have a WERTH of 4.70. The top middle infielders just won't put up the same numbers as the top corner infielders and outfielders. Abreu and Lawrie are okay options, for the corner infielder spot. Having both of them starting, and then having to use Middlebrooks at CI definitely scares me. Puig is great as a number one outfielder, even though I expect him to regress a little. Myers and Martin are nice in that they are serviceable players and have major upside. Even if they don't meet their potential, they'll put up decent numbers.

Fernandez was fantastic last season, and I believe he'll be an ace in the league, but he's not going to hover around an ERA of 2 like last season. However, despite that, he's still a top pitcher, and when paired with Greinke, they have a 5.52 WERTH and have a chance at a sub 3 ERA. Shields is as reliable as they come, but Cobb and Wilson seem a sketchy to me. The relievers are nothing too special, but they get the job down effectively with decent ratios to boot.

Bottom Line: Owning the three top middle infielders is both risky and overkill, but at least the pitching will keep the team in contention.

Massachusetts Massacres (maccrash21) WERTH Total: -11.25

One man's trash is another man's treasure. That was none more evident than with the Massacres first three picks (CarGo, Ellsbury, and Gomez, with a combined WERTH of 10+) being former Noob Move players. This gives the team a stacked outfield, if they can all stay off the DL. Venable is outstanding as a fifth outfielder, giving the team 20-20 potential. I may be biased, but Pedroia and Ortiz are great, providing useful averages along with a ton of runs, RBI, homers, and in Pedey's case, steals. Despite that, the team is not without it's negatives. Cabrera is a one category player, Ramirez is old, Morales doesn't have a team yet, and Seager has a weird face.

I know I'm not biased when I say that Lester and Peavy are good real-world pitchers, but not great fantasy pitchers. The other four have some pretty swell potential though. Bailey may plateau now that he's got his $100 million contract, but he has good stuff. His teammate Cingrani may have even better stuff if he can pull it all together. Cashner could put up some beautiful numbers if he can stay healthy. And Cole, the former number one pick, could be a top-10 pitcher if he can replicate his numbers throughout a full season. Some at least average relievers would be helpful though. Any team with Papelbon is just set up to fail.

Bottom Line: There are too many if's to think these guys will compete, but at least they'll probably avoid a second straight 10th place finish.

Humongous Melonheads (detroittigers15) WERTH Total: -11.87

Let's start with the positives. Mike Trout is a straight stud. Probably the best overall player in the league, everything he does ranks towards the top. Average, power, speed, defense, he provides it all, which is why he has an unbelievable 11.56 WERTH, only trailing Miggy. The positives seems to end there however. Some simple math shows that the rest of the rest has worse than a -23 WERTH. Ouch. Rios and Wright provide the only other bright spots on offense. Matt Carpenter is heavily overrated in roto leagues, while Cuddyer and Hunter are looking at some serious batting average regression.

Yet, it's the pitching that's really disappointing. Both Minor and Zimmermann are both okay, but not aces by any means. Ryu and Weaver are both average, and don't really do anything special. Wacha and Teheran are good choices though, providing good potential to really breakout this year. Wins should be easy to come by, as all the starters play on good teams, thus boosting their chances. I'm actually a fan of the closers though, especially Jim Johnson now that he's in Oakland. The larger ballpark should hopefully lower his ratios and minimize his mistakes.

Bottom Line: It's gonna be a tough year, and if anything happens to Trout, the white flag might as well start waving.

Texas Noob Moves (Acemaker55) WERTH Total: -13.05

The first thing I'd like to point out is that these are the worst keeper choices I have ever seen! CarGo, Ellsbury, Gomez, and Choo were all left on the table, much to Mac's delight. There is really no way I can justify those choices, but it's your team I suppose. Votto and Encarnacion, while both 1B, provide much different stats. E5 is much more power oriented, with a chance at 40 home runs. Votto is much more about average, looking at a possible .330 average. Encarnacion actually has more value (4.70 vs. 2.88 WERTH), but I feel they compliment each other well. I hate everything else though. Hamilton is a train wreck, Victorino's average will decline, Crisp and Eaton are pretty much just steal only players, Segura isn't as good as advertised, etc. The list can go on.

I like the pitching a bit more. Sale has a bright future if he continues to stay healthy, and Gonzalez will likely end up somewhere between his 2012 and 2013 numbers. Cain and Dickey are looking for bounce-back seasons, and I think at least Cain will get it. I believe that Dickey, like Sabathia, is a washed up at this point. Jansen in the bullpen should hit 100 K's for the second straight season, and should surely improve on the 28 saves earned last season. Balfour and Soriano are a bit old and untrustable though.

Bottom Line: If the poor decisions continue, and the talent doesn't improve, we're looking at a cellar dweller.

Would you disagree?

Not to mention that the WERTH values isn't even a system made by me.

Is there somewhere I can look at the WERTH for each of my players?

Meh. Sogard was worth 1.3 WAR last year, plus had some regular playing time, so he's decent as a bench option, IMO.

We shall see what happens with my batting, but I bet you anything I'll get over 16 roto points in batting this year.

I certainly hope so. 16 is pitiful to say the least. You'll probably want at least 35

FYI, Sergio Romo has struggled...a little bit in spring training this year:

Romo's stats

As of right now, he's given up 12 runs (11 earned) over 3 innings for an ERA of 33.00, has a WHIP of 4.67, and opponents are hitting .550 against him. This all comes against opponents like Leon Landry and Ketel Marte, two of the five Seattle batters Romo faced recently (3 of them got hits, 2 walked, and all five scored).

but still

this is the reason I absolutely hate Sergio Romo's fantasy prospects this season. He might not remain their closer if he keeps imploding like this.

Only three things matter in spring training. Velocity, position battles, and injuries. If he's blowing because his pitch speed is 2-3 mph lower than usual, then that's an issue. If not, then there's nothing to worry about. ST is rarely an indicator of success (or failure). From what I've read, Romo's been struggling because he hasn't used his slider yet, his go-to pitch. He's instead been working on his changeup, trying to make it into a third reliable pitch. Obviously, that hasn't been working so far, but whatever

Yeah, I have no regrets drafting Romo despite his awful, terrible, no good Spring Training.

In other news, I'm interested in trading Machado for another 3B...I see Longoria is on phillies' trading block.

However, someone who should have regrets is Prediction. Kris Medlen left his start today with a right forearm strain, which is especially alarming for someone who's already had Tommy John Surgury

And lol
