Postgame Notes - Arthur Collins crushed a solo bomb to left in the top of the first to bring home the first run of the game.

Star 3B Shunichi Murata would quickly vanquish the early lead with a 2-run opposite field blast in the bottom of the first. Taylor quickly settled down after that pitch, and he did an excellent job of pitching despite having nowhere near his best stuff.

Efren Martinez launched an absolute no-doubter in the top of the 4th to give us a 3-2 lead. The big man should be a superb cleanup hitter with power like that. The ball went about 453 feet.

Johnny broke the 160 mark in his first pitch today en route to his first save. In fact, I think that pitch, clocked at 163, gives him the record for fastest pitch ever thrown in the NPB.

Explain how Taylor was 1-2, and is batting .000?

Because I always make errors in my boxscores.

I just didn't notice this one immediately like I usually do.

Postgame Notes - Chen gave up 3 runs in the first two innings, thanks in partly to a 2-run homer by first baseman Yuta Naitoh, who got the start in place of Brett Harper.

Shimizu missed the barrels of our bats quite often. He got a lot of popups, and even took a no-no into the 4th before a groundball single up the middle by Perez.

It looked like we had a chance to take the lead until the bottom of the 7th, where Terrmel Sledge hit a bomb on the 3rd pitch he saw from Diaz, giving the BayStars a 6-1 lead.

Preston told me after the game that he signed 2 new pitchers for the secondary squad. I don't need to know the guys' names just yet, but he said that if an injury or poor performance occurs, they'll be the first ones up.

Hans Gruber maintains his batting average of 1.000!
