AHHHHH NOOOOO.

If this is the end, then I will create another crossover in which I kill of Sara. I don't care. It's canon, dibs nosies, Sara must go.

But if it's not the end... Uh tough decision Jackie.

Fujioka Falls

Image – Imanami blasts a walkoff homerun to left field, going back-to-back with Joe Chavez to win the game

Miyagi Stadium, Sendai – Rookie reliever Fujioka took a rough first loss in last night’s pitchers’ duel. The Knights were up 2-1, thanks to a Miyaki RBI single and a Kura (!) solo shot to right-center. Fujioka threw his first pitch, a fastball high and away, to Joe Chavez. It was taken for a strike. He then threw his best pitch, the cutter, down and in. Chavez managed to get a bat on it, and hit an opposite field homerun to tie the game, showing off his immense strength.

Next pitch—Imanami blasts a no-doubter to left-center. End of game. Knights lose 3-2.

“Three pitches is all it took to lose,” a downtrodden Fujioka said after the game, “I apologize.”

Don’t worry kiddo, there’s always next time.

btw, PPJ, Imanami is one of your players :\

...We need pitching...

Terauchi's stuck on the bench...

Wait a second...........

Terauchi+trade=decent to above par reliever!

I threw my cereal down and immediately called Kensou to hear his opinion on this.
"Well, Jack, I definitely feel bad for the kid. He's too good to be wasting his career on the bench. But, if we're to trade him, our only backup catcher is Sumiyoshi, and he isn't much of a fielder."
"Er..." I thought for a moment, "I think that that's alright. Sumiyoshi can work on his fielding no sweat. He's already a fairly decent hitter, plus he can bat from both sides. I would think he's a very valuable backup."
Kensou gave a sigh, "alright, Jack. I have full confidence in your decision."
"Thanks, Kensou."
-beep-

I began looking through the trade block to see if any relievers were up for grabs.
I came to one particularly attractive posting:

"Baystars: Shun Yamaguchi - RHP, #11
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
27, 157 km/h (98 mph), C, D, slider - 4, forkball - 4
ERA: 2.85
W-L: 3-1
IP: 41
K: 36
Looking for: SP, RP, C
"

oh my loooorddd, this is perfect!, I thought.

I called up the BayStars GM straight away and told him the offer.

"We'll give this some serious thought." Was all he said

The offer was this:

Sonoki
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
26, R/R, 148 km/h (92 mph), F, E, slider - 2, curveball - 2
(A second string pitcher we've got)

and

Rikiya Terauchi - C
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
21, N/A, S/R, 2, C, C, D, A, A, A
AVG: .294
HR: 0
RBI: 2

for

Baystars: Shun Yamaguchi - RHP, #11
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
27, 157 km/h (98 mph), C, D, slider - 4, forkball - 4
ERA: 2.85
W-L: 3-1
IP: 41

"I hope not."

Terauchi Gone -- Yamaguchi In

Image

Kyoto - The rumors were true, Terauchi, the wall behind the plate has indeed been traded to the BayStars for primo reliever Shun Yamaguchi. In his introductory press conference, Yamaguchi was very excited, saying "I'm absolutely thrilled to be on the Knights. Going to a team this good is nothing short of a miracle."

Welcome aboard, Yamaguchi!

Knights CAN Still Win Without Kurihara

Image – Daisuke Fukuchi

Blue Stadium, Sakyo-ku, Kyoto – The Knights took a stressful one last night, winning 4-3 while being down by 2 in the 8th inning. The Knights had plenty of opportunities to score earlier, though, with the most notable being Sumiyoshi striking out looking with the bases loaded in the first inning.

But, alas, the 8th inning was eventful. The Knights entered it down 2-1, but on the first pitch Yamaguchi threw, Uchikawa hit a blast to dead center, making it 3-1 Hawks. The bottom half of the inning started with a Kura double, and then a Reiza single, and then an Oda flyout, AND THEN a sac fly by Ushida. Right after that, Yamada was pulled, and Kamiuchi was put in. On HIS first pitch, Fukuchi hit a rocket to left field, leaving the park as quick as it hit the bat. “It felt good,” was all he had to say after the game.

Also, Iwasaki really wowed everyone with his stellar performance, going 7 strong, letting up 2 and striking out 5 in a no-decision.

I picked my phone up instinctively, without even looking at the ID.
"Hello?"
"Hi Jackie."
"...Sara? How's it going?"
Sara and I have been talking a lot more frequently, she tends to call me right before she goes to work in the morning.
"I still have no idea how you can get up so early every morning."
"Only 4 mornings, Jackie. Plus, you get used to it, heheh."
Strangely, I don't think I could ever get used to that.
"So..." she started, but I already knew where she was heading "...have you given it any thought?"
"Er, no... This is a huge choice, Sara... I'm sorry."
"No worries. I understand that you're committed to the team. I definitely wouldn't want to be what rips you from your passion!"
I can't figure out if her being this understanding is helping or hurting my decision-making ability...

-knockknock-

"Oh, Sara? Could you hold on a sec? Someone's at the door."
"Sure."

I put my phone face down on my night stand and walked downstairs to see who it was that was knocking this late.
I really hope it isn't that asshole Hideaki... Ooh, maybe it's Laisei, he's always fun to hang around.

I opened the door and no one was there.
"Damn kids."

I went back upstairs to my room and picked up my phone.
"Alrighty, I'm back."
"Who was it?"
"Nobody... When I opened the door I was met with nothing but the street."
"Hunh... That's weird. Maybe it's a ghost."
"Ahardy har har. Yeah right."
I really hope it wasn't.
"Everybody knows that gh-"

-knockknock-

"-ooookay, there's knocking again. Sara? I'm going to keep you on the line this time. If I scream, call the police."
"I don't think American police would do much good in a Japanese ghost sighting."
"Welp... Just... Just don't hang up."
"Of course."

I creeped down the stairs, making sure to make as little noise as I could.
I swung open the door, "please don't be a ghost!" I yelled in the manliest of fashions (with eyes closed, of course).

.
.
.

"Hi Jackie."
