Looks like the Buffaloes have called up their outfield prospect, Yuuji Ugumori, he's not one to run on.

Yuuji Ugumori - OF

Knights Handed A Tough Loss

Image
Image - Yamanishi

Blue Stadium, Sakyō-ku, Kyoto – It sure was a tough one for the Knights of Kyoto. After scoring the first 2 runs in the 1st inning (with one of them coming off of a past ball), they would end up losing by a final score of 6-5. In part because of former Tigers’ player, Kiyoshi Abe, the speedy, contact hitting catcher, and a rookie, Yamanishi, who actually drove in the go-ahead run, in the bottom half of the 8th, with an RBI single.

Nonetheless though, it was a good game.

Kurihara Delivers!

Image
Image - Masato Kurihara

Fukuoka Dome, Chūō-ku, Fukuoka – In a 12 inning epic, the Knights came out on top, thanks to a Kurihara homerun in the top half of the 12th, propelling them to victory!

But, it most certainly wouldn’t come easy. The Hawks new Chinese addition, Kuan-Yin Tsai, proved to be a thorn in starter, Tsukiya Yamato’s side, as he accounted for all 3 of the Hawks scored runs. One of them coming on a 6th inning homerun, and the other two coming in a crucial 2-out situation in the 8th, which was, to say, a tough one to take in. With two outs, Tsui hit one down the right field line, which just landed fair, and rolled into the corner, the two runners on would both come around to score, and the game would be tied. It would stay that way until the 12th…

In which, Kurihara, on the first pitch of the inning, hit a no-doubter to dead center, to give the Knights a 4-3 lead! Makida came in for the bottom half of the inning, and ended it, getting his 3rd save of the year!

Knights Beat Buffaloes

Image
Image – Daisuke Fukuchi

Osaka Dome, Osaka – So, The Knights won last night. They scored 8 runs in doing so, and Fujita struck out 6! But, he let up 5 runs, which isn’t so great.

Most of the action happened in the 5th, where the Knights scored 6 runs! One of the runs coming off of a bases loaded walk to Ushida, for his first RBI of the season, one coming from a sacrifice fly from Fukuchi, and 4 coming from Kanazawa, with a big grand slam! Which, truthfully, saved the game.

Also, Kenji Johjima got his 1,500th career hit, with a double to right, so congratulations to him!

Pretty darn fast. Any ground ball to the infield he can beat out (pretty much).

You're talking about Ma, right?

A while back, the Chinese center fielder, Lim Ma, has an S in speed. He's on the BayStars now, I believe.

Seems that the Fighters have picked up free agent, unsigned draft pick, Mitsuaki Niinuma, a well-rounded shortstop. Excellent.

Mitsuaki Niinuma - SS
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
20, N/A, L/R, 3, B, C, A, B, C, C
Bio: Niinuma grew up in Hokkaido, always a fan of the Fighters, and has always been regarded as the best on any of the teams he's played on. A good 1, 2, or 3 hitter.
Personality: Humble, and chatty

Also, the Marines have signed the power hitting second baseman, Junichi Mori, excellent as well.

Junichi Mori - 2B
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
21, N/A, L/R, 4, D, A, C, C, D, D
Bio: He and his best friend, Natsuki Gotoh, used to make up a phenomenal pair in the middle of the infield. Mori is a fear inducing presence. Don't let his boyish looks fool you!
Personality: Very kind

Knights Lose In Walk-off Fashion

Image – Yoshio Itoi

Sapporo Dome, Toyohira-ku, Sapporo – It was a tough game, no doubt. The Knights were no-hit for 6 innings, and ended up losing it all in the end, even though they had a nice rally. Both Yu Darvish and Hiroshi Shima, they both went 8 innings, but Shima was in for 1 batter too long, as he let up a double to Nakamura in the bottom half of the 9th, and it led to Itoi’s single to left which won the game, sadly.

Ushida was the first to get a hit for the Knights, and it was a big one! A rare triple to right, so that was nice.

I know!

But their Kurihara isn't doing so hot, batting only .205, with 1 homerun, and 5 RBI.

I don't know how they're doing so poorly though, they're really good.
