Nishinomiya Sports
April 7
Strong outing by rookie, Moriyama

Image - Matt Murton

Meiji Jingu Stadium, Tokyo - The Tigers newest, and youngest, pitcher has shown himself, and he's good. Real good. his name is Tsuyoshi Moriyama. And he doesn't have that great of a fastball, but his slider, boy, does it shine. It breaks well, and breaks late. He also has a curveball in his repertoire. He looks like he'll be a spiritual leader to the other rookies. Welcome to the team Moriyama! We spoke to him about his performance, he stated "It is an honor to be here. And I have much to improve on. Thank you for your time." Actually that's all he stated in his press conference, he's known as a man of few words.

- Takaharu Sonada

Recap:
- Moriyama set down his first 7 batters faced in the NPB.
- The Tigers struck first with an RBI single by Arai in the 2nd.
- Aoki tied it with an RBI double in the 3rd
- Aoki had another RBI in the game
- Moriyama got an RBI of his own to give the Tigers the lead
- Jamie D'Antona homered for his first hit of the season
- Hirano hit an RBI single in the 8th to tie the game
- Fujikawa went 2 2/3 strong
- Matt Murton gives the Tigers the lead in 11th with a solo homerun to left
- Toyoda finished the game with a 1-2-3 inning

Well, in this game trading is very hard. First, you need to get the trade card. Then you can pick a player from another team, and once you do, it'll show you who they want (it's always a one-for-one deal). It's kind of annoying.

But very rarely, you get a special trade card in which you can trade anyone for anyone (Like Yu Darvish for a minor leaguer!)

3 things:
1. What is a trade card and how do you get one?
2. Can you add money to a trade?
3. Are trades always 1-for-1 in the real life NPB too?

1. It's random, after every game you get some cards, sometimes a trade card
2. No (sadly)
3. Nope, sometimes there are multiple players traded for one player
:DD

What kind of other cards are there? This sounds slightly like the Hockey Ultimate Team mode in that NHL game, if only because there are cards involved. Usually card games and sports games are kept separate.

Moriyama was very happy with his performance, and when he got home, he immediately called his father. Gleefully stating that he pitched in the NPB. His father was actually there, cheering him on. He had no idea. Moriyama thanked his father for everything that he has done, and hung up, hoping to once again see his father, who had left his family 5 years ago. Moriyama shed a tear, and went to sleep (as it was 1.00 [going by the 24 hour clock]). The first time he has cried since his father left, his father was his hero.

Well, there's a bunch of different types of cards.

Fist you've got the kind that boost abilities (ie: contact, trajectory, control, top speed etc.)
Then you've got the kind that give players new abilites (ie: Trash Talk, clutch hitter etc.)
Then you've got special cards (Trade, import from success mode, get players from America, pick up free agents, etc.)
And you have cards that are one-time affects for single games (increase contact, increase power, increase control etc.)

I think that's all the types, if not, I'll get back to you on that

Wow. Great story...
Poor Moriyama... :frownz:
But nonetheless, thanks for your input, and great input! :DD

Sounds like the card system in MLBPP's success mode.

Yeah, I guess it is kind of like that.
Only you don't make decisions with them, you make your players (and team, with trades) better.

It's kind of annoying, but I also like it for some reason.....

Excellent first game by rookie sensation, Kiyoshi Abe

Image - Tomoaki Kanemoto

Koshien Stadium, Nishinomiya, Hyōgo - The Tigers newest addition(s) provided greatly in yesterday's game. Moriyama went 8 innings, giving the bullpen a well-deserved rest. And Abe went 3-5 with 3 doubles, and an RBI. We spoke to them both in the locker room, after the game. Abe said "I'm very proud of my performance, and hopefully, I'll be able to make it big here in the majors." Moriyama spoke to us about his pitching performance "I believe I did well, but I did let up 4 runs. i have to improve my fastball." Good going you two. Welcome to the Hanshin Tigers. Another large factor in the game was Kanemoto, with his 9th homerun of the month (he leads the team). Kanemoto, with a slow start last year, has proved all of the sports analysts wrong. They said it would be the same this year, but actually, Kanemoto is tied for the league lead in homeruns.

In other news, Kyuji Fujikawa won the Pitcher of the Month award for April, posting a 2.63 average, and recording 9 saves (league lead). Congratulations!

Moriyama is very proud of his best pitching appearance so far in his career!
And is hoping to better coordinate with Kiyoshi Abe, since he is the new catcher.

Well, at least they're both rookies, and this is the first time for them both to experience everything.

In your recaps, could you put the records of the teams?
