In My Life, does it help to have a lot of speed? Will the manager want you to swipe lots of bases? It seems all he wants you to do is hit. |

It does help in the sense that if you can get into scoring position, you can give your team a run or two, which can be helpful since you can't control 92% of the action. (That's just an estimate.) |

Speed always helps with soft infield hits as well as gappers. Getting extra base hits , aside from HRs, can net you base running 4. |

I'll probably rarely get any doubles because of my slow speed and the CPU plays me very deep so it's impossible to hit one over there head unless it's in the stands. |

This year, the game is very generous with extra base hits. If you get a single with a runner in scoring position and you advance to second when the defense throws home, which they almost always will, you get credit for a double. Same goes for triples. |

Yeah, that's the only way I got my 1 and only double my rookie season, but this year I actually earned my 1 double. Now, my player will probably never be able to get to 3rd base when I hit a ball even if it is thrown home. |

Yeah, maybe some people will make triples inside the park homeruns. ![]() |

Also I think you have a higher chance of being a lead off hitter with speed; call the manager and ask to be clean up or leadoff |

That's another good point. Then you could steal a lot if you get on base and score runs. I'm on my way to the Wii! ![]() |

I have 3 triples so far with 10/15 speed 2 were against the Tigers on the road and one was with a runner going to the plate, they threw it there. I can't ever steal second though my stolen base% is like .600 even when I run on change-ups I get thrown out. And I didn't attempt a steal in the Tigers series. |

I started a player with 14 speed and through 10 games in the minors he had 50 steals. ![]() |

My guy is a slow poke(7 speed), but he's one of those smart base stealers that steals when I know the catcher has a bad throwing arm, I'm like 100+ games into the season with 8 stolen bases, I've been caught 5 times which a couple of those I completely botched the steal attempt because I waited too long to hit the steal button. |

Using R1 and L1 helps a lot. |
