I'm just curious to see what players you guys have been traded for in MLB Life. My first ever player was traded from the Nationals to the Diamondbacks for Chad Qualls.

Yes?

I don't think there's that big of an audience, if there is one at all, that plays MyLife any more.

Why not?

Because it's not a very interesting mode.

Because it's sorta broken, among other reasons.

I do give it credit for actually having some story though. Most career modes just consist of you playing game after game after game, with nothing to break the pattern.

Well it's my favorite mode on the game. People saying it's not an interesting mode is just their opinion. Why is it broken, SkittleMonster? You have nothing to back that up.

I'm playing it just to see what it's like to go through the whole thing. I signed as a free agent from Boston to the Giants, to the Tigers, and back to Boston.

Try actually playing all your games as a starting pitcher. Then you'll kind of see.

I'm pretty sure I've read people having ERAs well under 1 but having terrible losing records. You don't really see that in the MLB.

That's why I always give my pitchers the Lucky ability. Having Rockies hitters also backs me up too. :P

I have this to back it up. That is the most egregious "glitch" in the game, and makes playing as a starting pitcher nearly impossible.

You have managers making just stupid moves (although that happens in every mode). Trading for an MVP caliber first baseman when you already have an MVP first baseman. Trading away you best player(s) for pennies on the dollar. Sitting the best pitcher ever until game 4, which never even gets played because you got swept (see cooldude's log for evidence)

And you get way too good. I started MyLife once as a batter with G speed, and within 10 years, I was stealing the most bases in the league. At the same time, I was winning literally every other award possible. And once I played all of April (all 28 or so games, no simming), and I has already broken the single-season homerun record. It's no fun when you just dominate everything like that.

There's nothing wrong with liking the mode, but don't expect any conversation. That is, unless you start talking to yourself.

I was traded twice in my other log, but apparently I didn't bother checking for who. Probably wasn't anyone important as I was a career AAA guy.

The very first time I did My Life Mode as my Success Mode Starting Pitcher, I was traded from the Yanks to the Twins for Francisco Liriano. I spent time in the minors with both teams and ended that year 10-10 with a ERA around 1.25. I got so frustrated though that I quit the mode until recently, when I made a new player and am trying again. Not going as well though, ha ha.

I agree a little with Skittlemonster that it is a flawed mode. Has a lot of potential to be awesome had it been refined, but alas, no MLBPP 09 or later. Wish they made this better though. Could've been my favorite game of all time... *sigh*
