I play out every game, doesn't take too too long and it's more entertaining for me to know everything that's happened to the character is the result of my own actions.

I've always had a bad habit of wanting to play every game I'm involved in (this includes other baseball, football, hockey games) but recently I've fought with myself to get towards simulating series that won't affect me too much. Low ranking teams or ones I expect to win I will simulate but if it's a battle for first place or an important interleague game I'm all over it. At the moment though I'm playing every game and making every decision I can on my first Life play through but trust me, asking someone out to eat or for a round of golf every day can get old sometimes.

That's where I stand, simulate the mundane and easy so I can save my time for the important series and keep my team at the top of the division.

I agree with isded12floz, I love getting my feet wet with a new game or concept and want to understand every part of it. Other than that, season mode for 2007 was mostly a GM job for me, shuffling players and quick simming each game (and playing manager as well).

I've played 3 full seasons fo far, still playing every game. Part of the reason is that I realize my own performance will far exceed the simulated stats. My bat control peaked at 9 (D) during my second year, it can't go up any higher. If I sim a lot my average would suffer, whereas I can hit .350 - .370 for the season if I do it myself :)

Interesting that your potential has a cap on it. Was this with a ported Success mode player or an MLB Life created player?

How can your ability be maxed out at 9?

I've got the same issue with bat control also. Might have something to do with the age of my player(31).

Mine is an MLB Life created player, started as a 17 year old 1st round draft pick (currently 21 in year 4). I went with the "Slugger" profile and then "amazing bat control," "great in the clutch," and "poor base stealing." My CON started at 3, and when I got to 9 I saw a note in my profile (under Rumors/Self) that "my bat control has peaked." Sure enough, when the progress bar got to the end it stopped and won't go up to 10. Also, in the offseason between years 3 and 4 my RUN SPD peaked at 13 (B).

Maybe the Slugger ability has something to do with it?

I wonder if there is a cap on the amount of contact you can get if you choose slugger, that would probably make sense since most sluggers don't don't have very high averages.

All-rounder might not cap anything.

It'd be interesting to test. Before I started this player I had actually started another one with all-arounder and ended up with starting stats where my PWR and CON were both E, but I decided to start over after a handful of games because I wanted to change a few things up.
